Hi Everyone

Just wondering if anyone has gone to any of the AMBA conventions and/or state AGMs and if so is it worth going?
I'm on the committee for our local multiples club and I enjoy being involved in the business side of clubs but when I mentioned it to DH he said what for, what would I get out of going.

I though some of you wonderful ladies may be able to give my DH some good reasons aside from me saying just because I'm interested to see what goes on. Plus, the convention is in Sydney and I've never been there before.

You thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks
Kate

I've been to a few state seminars and two Conventions (Sydney will be my third) since I became involved with AMBA.

I always look forward to spending some time recharging my batteries (usually with lots of laughs, wine and some extra sleep!) and have a great time meeting the amazing people who volunteer with AMBA. We are going to try to stay an extra day or two before and after the official proceedings and do some shopping and sightseeing as well.

You get the chance to compare notes with people from many different clubs and you always come away with loads of enthusiasm and ideas for new programs or ways you can improve your own club's services. The contacts you make can be very handy when issues crop up at your local club- I have exchanged lots of emails throughout the year regarding things that I discussed briefly with someone at Convention.

The guest speakers are usually pretty awesome too- I know I am really looking forward to hearing Dr Mark Umsted's talk on epigenetics at this year's convention.
