Can anyone help me with links to websites that list all the names of stars? I'm still trying to find the perfect name for (what we now know) our DS.
Thanks
So far I only have Antaris & Orion.

I love Orion

The only other one I can think of is Sterling. It's old English and means little star.
ETA - I've just been googling but I'm afraid there isn't many nice ones.

'Asta' means 'star' I believe. It's also a lovely name.

Ok, I've gone through all the lists (thanks so much) & still nothing.

This is so hard. Any other ones?
Does anyone have an idea how to turn Sol (Sun) into a boys name. My mums name is Solveig & I'm thinking about leaving away the veig & using Sol.

My galactical list for a male child would include:
Hercules
Aquila
Garnet
Nash
Atlas
Orion
BTW love Solveig for a girl. Can only think of Solomon for a boy. I like Apollo, sun-god. Or Apollonius. May return...

That's Antares - pronounced ant-tar-ays.
It's a red giant in Scorpio, I think.

Sol on its own is not bad.
How about sun or star in other languages? There is a discussion on 'sun' in different languages here:
http://www.flickr.com/groups/sunrisesunset/discuss/4270/I quite like the Greek suggestion of Ilios.
I also like the Indian Aditya (my dd goes to school with a boy with this name - now I know what it means). Ravi is another Indian one I like.
here is a discussion on words for 'star':
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qi...02193210AAjsPaONone of these seem like good names though.
