Hi there

Yes they are trained. They have been for a few months. I don't really know how we did it :confuse:.

I started using stickers for success, and then they went by the way side a bit. Then I was only getting wee's, so then used Freddo frogs as the incentive. If they did a poo, they got a frog. Then they worked out that if they did 5 or more poo's a day, they got 5 or more frogs a day. So then, we went to smarties. Each time they did a poo they got a smartie. Then we had the same prob as the frogs. Kateleigh was trying to do like 20 poo's a day!

Now I say they get nothing! They know what to do, so they don't need stickers & smarties etc. BUT I use them as rewards for other things.

We also have a couple of dolls that have bottles & do wee's. So using those, talking about it heaps & giving HEAPS of praise, we did it.

I'm still having big battles with keeping them dressed though. They continually take their clothes off. I have tried almost everything I can think of to stop them, but nothing so far has worked. I know they do it when they are bored & they know it "gets me".

The other problem I have is that if I put them in a room for time out, they ALWAYS wee or POO on the floor! Yes they know what they are doing! It's totally deliberate. I have also tried lots of approaches for this one too. Like making them clean it up (it's yuck & they think it's FUN), ignoring it & then cleaning it up when they are not around, smacking their bottom, putting a nappy back on them (which they also liked & asked to be put into a cot), making them wear wet pants (they stopped doing it in their pants & took them off & did it on the floor .

So although they are toilet trained, I still have my battles. Do your kids do any of these things? I really think it's a multiple thing b/c they have each other to bounce off & they laugh & have fun doing it all together.

Hope that helps!

Belinda

Belinda - Just wanted to say well done to you! That is a grea achievement for you and although you are still having some issues with this it sounds like you have really done a wonderful job! Well done and good luck to those that are about to try this....
DH did a great job with DSD toilet training so I might go to work for him and he can do that part LMAO...

Hi Belinda,

Yes, well done to you. We don't seem to have the egging on think, actually probably the opposite, when one runs a mock, the other does the "Little Miss Responsible" routine. They really are best little buddies most of the time.

They have just learned to take their clothes off themselves (buttons etc), but at the moment only do it when asked. I still chose what they are going to wear for the day and the don't protest about it- at the moment LOL!!

When we do time out, I put them in the corner of the room that they are still playing in so that they can see what is going on but can't touch anything. (Helps to see what they are missing out on by being naughty). Unless on the minor occasion that they have chucked a BIG wobbly, then they go to their room too. Just thinking that they might not poo if they know you are watching them.

Might have to up the reward thing for the TT, maybe one jelly bean isn't enough (they are the natural ones so very small).

Something funny - I was on the toilet the other day and Alicia said to me, "Mummy, are you doing a wee for a jelly bean?".

Very cute.

Thanks for the reply!

Cheers

Hi there

We have had a "hell" day here. Just when I think it's getting better we have another really bad day. Kateleigh is so strong willed & fights on me on just about everything (even when given a choice she wants something NOT in the choice).

I have stopped putting the girls in a room. I now just use a matt. It works to a degree, but if it's K in trouble, D feels bad & wants to sit with her. They also have more things they can touch & play with (like chairs, I know CHAIRS LOL). If they just won't stay on the matt, they go to their room & I have to make sure their is no cupboard doors open or keys in the doors or they pull ALL their clothes out of the cupbaord onto the floor.

I have taken your suggestion & went to a cheap junk shop & bought a lot of stuff for crafts. Today we made playdough, but K missed out b/c she would not listen & do as asked. We then met some friends at a park. When we came home & I put them to bed I said if they stayed on their beds & were quiet we would play with the playdough this afernoon. Well they both took ALL their clothes off, climbed up the empty drawers to their cupbaord & jumped around the room. I ended up seperating them & leaving them naked (I wasn't dressing them again so they could undress again). As a result they didn't get to play with the dough.

Ok, back to the subject. Sounds like it's worth a try at upping the reward for a wee in the toilet. LOL at the comment about Mummy getting a jelly bean.

Hi

Just thought i'd join in as your toilet training stories are great and very familiar!!

The last few months my B/G Twins have decided that nappies are just not thier thing , especially as the 3 year old has been toilet trained since the twins were born...

The problem is they don't seem to want to use the potties and insist on fighting over toilet time - which of course is hard with one toilet!!

However i'm not too stressed as they have only just turned two and i didn't expect them to want to try so early so we'll keep at it!!!

HELP????

Do you have your twins or more sharing a room???
I am having such a problem getting them to sleep as they have all been in a triple bunk set up since January (Twins were only 18 months old) and they just play and climb and carry on until i am so exhausted that i feel like booking into a mental home (single mum so no other adult help)

ANY IDEAS????

Keep up the good TT Work

PS - Am in a weight loss forum too so thats why i have the counter at bottom of posting!!
