Hi Ladies
I'm trying to find a good site for getting kids books. The library is great but there are many that I would like to buy for us and also as gifts. Does anyone have a favourite place?
Cheers

Booktopia for gifts, EBAY just for us to use. I got 30 second hand books in great condition from a primary school teacher (fantastic condition as she was just clearing out her collection to buy some new books) for 35 bucks! Booktopia has a great customer service department if you need to call them too and they deliver really fast.

The Book depository is awesome.
Otherwise, this site will help you get the cheapest copy of the book online.

sometimes I've ordered from bookdepository (.com website) and the books never arrived. Never had the same problem with the .co.uk one, so far so good!
Fishpond take forever to post your books, and I mean forever. I ordered some books start of November for last Christmas, they came just before Christmas. They must've been lopping the trees to make the paper.
On the positive, borders are quite good, but their prices can't match book depository. they are just the cheapest, with free post.

I didn't know there was a difference between the Book Depository's .com and .co.uk sites? I thought they both directed to the same one. I only signed up at the one but have bought at both and never had problems.
A book did go missing once and when I contacted them they sent a replacement immediately.
I love the Book Depository

I always order from the Huggies Book club.
They have 20% off for members and the last time i look its was free delivery.
The books only took about 4 days to come as well.

I love the book depository, sometimes the books arrive quickly other times it has taken a few weeks. Also if you order a few books they will often send them separately. I ordered 4 books for Easter and they all came separately.

Love them, sometimes it takes a couple of weeks but they are so cheap, I found a book that was $30 in the shops for $8 it was a recent best seller and free postage.

im also going to say that the .co.uk version of bookdepository is much better than .com.
I had problems with .com books arrived really slowly & then sent the wrong version of the books, i ordered board books they sent paperbacks etc. They did refund my money after i explained the problem to them a number of times.
no problems with .co.uk I have ordered from them many times.

I often use amazon.co.uk. The delivery is SO much faster and cheaper than the US site.
fishpond.com.au is good too. I like to check there first in case I can get a good deal from an Aussie website before ordering OS.

don't order from fishpond unless you have AGES! We ordered toys from them in early Oct and they arrived the day before Christmas! We had to buy more Christmas presents, because we thought we'd have nothing to give the kids!
I normally order from book depository.co.uk which comes from the UK, .com is from the US, I believe. The US site seems to be slightly cheaper, especially when you account for when the dollar is strong.

I've used ABEbooks. They give you prices from lots of little booksellers and are fantastic for hard to find or second hand books

.
But for general books I use Booko

I prefer Booktopia cause it is an Australia site based out of NSW. So you're supporting an Aussie business and the $$ stays in the country.
The postage isn't very much either & their range is huge..

Where did you get that information from? I just purchased a DVD from there and was charged postage.
