OK. we have a girls name we love picked out but are struggling with a boys name.
We have pretty normal/common last name not as common as smith though.
DH's grandad who he adores was called maurice (went by morrie) so we have morrison and rhys from that. DH's little bro passed away he was called david. DH's granddad (who passed a couple of weeks ago) was john so is DH's dad it is also one of dh's middle names, so probaby looking at that for a middle name. riley is a mixture of our first names. and other names we like are jacob, connor, tristan and callum.
Any input? especially on morrison?

I agree ... boys names are hard!
I love Rhys David. Morrison is ok, sounds more of a surname to me though.
Connor and Callum are nice strong boys names.

I love Rhys. David is nice but I'd only use it as a middle name.
I actually don't mind Morrison. I do like Morris as well.

I like Morrison. FYIW John to me seems over done in your family so I would go with Morrison David.

I love, love the name Maurice. Well-known , classic, underused. And love its Frenchness. I would choose it over any of the other names mentioned.

Ah yes, but would become confusing as bubs aunt was named for the grandfather and is Mariece.

I'd be careful not to give him too many names after passed on family members, perhaps just the mn and give him his own individual first name. I like Morrison as a mn as it's a bit different, so
Riley Morrison
Callum Morrison
Jacob Morrison
Connor Morrison
Tristan Morrison
Otherwise Morrison John or Morrison David sound OK too but like I said, I wouldn't be giving your child two names from other family members, but plenty of people do and it's your baby!

My DS is David James named after my Dad and DH's Grandad. I am SO SO happy we chose family names for him.
I like all your names although my sister works for a clothing store called Morrison (
http://www.morrisonshop.com/) so that's what I think of when I hear the name. They also have a kids label called "Mini Morri" which I think is adorable.
Would you consider two middle names?
My pick would be Maurice David John (Morrie as a nn)

Rhys David is great
Although I do love Maurice nn Morrie. Not so keen on Morrison. Its a surname, not a first name

Is there anyone special from your side of the family?
My ds is named for both grandfathers - my late dad's name (James) as his first name and late FIL's name (Alexander) as his middle name. Ds never knew my dad obviously but sharing a name with him seems to make him more interested in him (eg, used to talk about him as 'my grandpa named James' when he was little). FIL actually died when ds was about 4yo so he does remember him and likes the fact that he has his beloved Grandpa Sandy's name as his middle name.
