Humpty Dumpty
Hi,

I found out a few weeks ago that we are expecting #3. It was a surprise for us but not something we hadnt planned for the future. At my ob appointment I found out its actually twins! Now I am beginning to freak out. DS2 will only be 17 months if I go to term so most likely younger than that because lots of twins are born early. DS1 will be 4 a few months before these twins are due.

Had anyone experienced anything like this?? Any suggestions about how I can cope with this??Any stories of success to bring me some hope??? LOL

I have been reading through the multiples thread and there are some good ideas there but all of them have larger age gaps then I will be having.

Thanks

Humpty Dumpty

Congratulations!! We went for no 3 and ended up with 3 and 4.

When the girls were born at 36 weeks I had 4 kids aged 2and under :-)

It's hard at times but honestly not as bad as I though it would be. I think I am lucky I can be fairly relaxed and just go with the flow of things.

I loved my quad adventure as it ment I could go out with all the kids.

I also put my eldest 2 in daycare 2 times a week so i could have a break and they were stimulated.

If you ever want to chat pm me.

My boys now adore my girls and otter they re all I need to entertain them

My girls turn 1 next week:-)

Because it took roughly a year to fall pregnant with our second child, I thought we would try a bit sooner for #3 as I wanted a close age gap. DD2 was 4 months old and I fell pregnant first cycle. And it was twins. They were born 5 days before our DD2's first birthday (So I had 3 under 1 for a week lol) I had a 3 year old at the time as well.

I will warn you and say that it was not all sh*ts n giggles. There are actually huge gaps in my memory. Just keep the golden figure of 4 months in your head as that is when things got incredibly easier. Having said that, I would not have it any other way. They are so close it is wonderful to watch. i even went back for a 4th time (and only got 1 thank goodness hehe) And congratulations, you have been inducted into a very special club. I love having twins.

you will be fine Hun

There is one lady in here that has... I think 11months difference between 2 sets of twins. 1 set born jan/feb, 2nd set born December I think.

As long as you have a great support group... You will be fine.

Doesn't stop you from sh*tting urself though.

I have 3 under 8 months and a 3yo. It's not as bad as people (usually people with NO multiple experience) will lead you to believe original.gif

Yes it will be tough - and you will have absolute terrible days, but it is so worth it. I had 3 under 15 months - who are now all at school, and if I could change anything I wouldn't do anything different. original.gif

I have 5 under 5 (twins are 4)
Routine and organisation are my best friend.
