To my bright and challenging miss 4 and my chubby teething mr 9 months,

THANK YOU,

I'm so very grateful beyond words to be your mum, you give me just as much as I give you.

Thank you DD for your challenging, sometimes exhausting and often frustrating 'being 4' behavior.

You have taught me to find strength, kindness and patience inside myself I never know the depth of!

Youve taught me to be resourceful, and if I didnt know what to do, go and learn. Because of that i now have new skills to use in my life. Although hard at the time your challenging behavior was a valuable experience.

Thankyou DD for your endless bright and intelligent questions, you really make me think outside the square.

Thankyou for making me so busy every single day, I've really had to work on being more organised and thats a really useful skill!

When I have a quiet moment in the house alone, (like now), I really appreciate the peace and silence. Without you kids that would feel like lonliness, but with you in my life moments of silence are so blissful when they rarely happen, safe in the knowledge I will see your sweet smiling cheeks and sparkling eyes very soon.

Thank you both for your sweet innocent listening ears, its made DH and I think about what we say, be kinder and tread lighter.

Thank you chubby baby boy for your sweet easygoing nature, you really make me see theres no point in allowing the small things to get to me.

Thank you for smiling your 4 tooth smile at everyone you meet at the shops, young, old, all shapes and sizes, you've really taught me a lot about unconditional love, and that what you put out into the world, you get back.

Thank you for 'choosing' me as your mum, entrusting me with your precious little lives, your wellbeing and health. Youve made me a kinder, wiser, healthier, stronger person, I've had to become those things so I could give them back to you. You've made me grow up and dig deeper to find the strength you deserve. You make me burst with love that knows no bounds and is almost overwhelming. Through all of the ups and downs, its been an honor and look forward to being your rock and loving you both always, through all the lessons, challenges, laughter and tears we will experience together as we all learn and grow.

love always mum

Please add what you would like to thank your kids for too, I think its just nice in the daily life of parenting to stop and remember how much there is to be grateful for...

All the best,
torito

I REALLY needed to read this today, right now. My two year old is being.... two. Sometimes I struggle to remember what a blessing she really is.

luibee
loved your post - esp the bit about innocent listening ears - so spot on
that's how I feel about my DD - she has really taught me to be a better human being in so many ways - and sometimes i just don't feel worthy of being her mum (then again at other times......well let's just focus on the beautiful and humble positivity of your post)

sigh......she's my alpha and my omega (and I love her more than anything and anyone)
*Boo*
