I washed my make-up brush yesterday and the hairs are now falling out. I cannot remember what I paid for it, but are there any brands that are better than others. Any make-up people out there?

There's nothing you can do. If it's still usable, then keep it. If not, bin it. Most makeup brands at a cosmetics counter will sell their own brushes. Priceline also sell a reasonable range.

Some shedding is natural. Do you know if it is natural or synthetic op?
All brushes will shed a bit after a bit of use but it will slow down and stop. How old is it? How did you wash it and what did you use?
As for brands use MAC, Bobbi Brown and crown brushes in my kit. Expensive, yes, but with the right care mine have lasted years.

Some m/up artists say never to dry brushes standing up as water will run down into the shaft of the brush and weaken the glue that hold the bristles in place (has not happened to my brushes and the 10 years I have ownedmy brushes)
Crown brushes are great and sell at a great price - you may have to buy more than one brush though as they are suppliers and may have a minimum order - I buy my brushes from O/S online stores or at Riot art and craft
