Good Morning all! Its a cold brisk day in WA...but a happy day in our house as its DH's Birthday!!

I was told yesterday by 3 women (one of which a nurse) how long Hayden and Brooklen are! I was wondering how long your children were born and how long are they now?

I am finding it hard to buy clothes that are long enough in the leg for them both! What a mission, they are growing faster than I can shop LOL

Hayden was 47cm's Born
Brooklen was 50cm's Born

Hayden was 53cm's @ 7 weeks
Brooklen was 54cm's @ 7 weeks

The Child Health Nurse is coming tomorrow to measure, weigh and check both of them so I will see what they are now.....Just curious as to the lengths of your children.

There are quiet a few tall people in my family - my Dad is 6'4 and his Brother 6'5, on Phils side average heights and Phil is just shy of 6ft also. (i am shorty 5'8)

For those of you that have children older than 1 year old how tall are they now how much have they grown since birth?

Thanks in advance!!!

Hi Haylie,
My girls at birth were:
Emma - 48.5cm
Hannah - 45.5cm (only 4lb5oz, so small all over really!)

At 1 year:
Emma - 78.4cm
Hannah - 75.8cm

At 2 years:
Emma - 90.5cm
Hannah - 90cm (she finally caught up to her little sis!).

They are both around the 80th %ile for height. I always thought Emma would be much taller than Hannah, but in the past year, Emma's growth has slowed down and Hannah's sped up!

Oh, and BTW, finding pants that are long enough but will stay up is a huge challenge, but I've always had that problem myself, so not unexpected.

hi haylie,

Amber 46cm's at birth
Olivia 47cm's at birth

At 1 year
Amber 72 cm's
Olivia 72.6cm's

At 2 years

Amber 83 cm's
Olivia 84cm's

So a little on the short side. I'm 5'6" and hubby is 5'11" . I have trouble buying pants that are short enough. Amber still wears size one most of the time Livi is chubby so wears size 2 and I take EVERYTHING up and usually in as well. Find a lot of target pants/ skirts are adjustable so i try to only buy those.

Hi everyone
My girls were
Krystal birth length 46cm
1 year 73cm
Storm birth length 48cm
1 year 75cm
We are average height Rosie 5'7 and hubby is 5'6 so we think that the girls will be average height and weight hopefully.
We are about the 50% in both height and weight finally

Emily was 25cm and @ 2 is 80cm
Jas was 23cm and @ 2 is 77cm

Totally agree w/ the length of pants though, but thankgoodness as they are growing longer they're going into larger nappies to help hold their duds up..

Thanks ladies! Look as though we are all going to have trouble with the pants *LOL* - great lengths! (thanks for your info Rhonda!)

CHN just left and she is very happy with both Hayden & Brooklen - new Lengths:

Hayden: 58.5cm's (come on little man!)
Brooklen: 59cm's

Brooklen development and skills well beyond her time - LOL approx 2 months ahead, Hayden typical male she said - little lazier *LOL* but also thriving!
Thanks for the replies!!!! By the looks of things I could say we have average lengths! Thanks...

Hi Haylie,
They say that by the age of two you can triple their height and that is how tall they will be. Not sure how much truth is in that and it is a long way away.

Madelyn was 48cm at birth
Tiahna was 47cm at birth

Madelyn 69cm at 8months
Tiahna 73cm at 8months

I hope they get DH's height and not mine. I am only 5"5 and a half. Don't forget the half it is very important to me when I am vertically challenged. Madelyn and Tiahna are slightly taller than average for their age

I think it's double their height at 2, rather than triple, to get their adult height - otherwise my 2 are going to be over 2.5 metres tall (well they might make some money in basketball).

I'm not sure how accurate that is - there are some prediction sites on the net taking into account the parents' height as well.

OMG. you can't tell I was half asleep when I wrote that! Otherwise we could all get together and have the best slamdunk team there was! LOL.
