Hi everyone. I have 8 month old twin girls, and would like to start taking them to a kindergym-type program once a week, but all the ones I have enquired about require a ratio of 1 adult to 1 baby. This makes it difficult for us, as I have no one I can take with me to help me out. DH is at work during the day, and I have no relatives nearby.
Anyway, while I understand the safety reasons behind this, does anyone know of any programs that will let a Mum with twins attend?
Many thanks!

[color=Teal]I'm not sure where you live, but we go to one in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney that has a lot of helpers, and if I or DH need to take the boys on our own, we can.
Let me know if you live in Sydney and I'll pass on the details to you via a pm.

Hi Narelle
I just recently discovered that our local PCYC (Police and Citizens Youth Centre) has a toddler gym. It only starts at age one (though they are a little flexible). If you have one locally, it might be worth checking it out. The way ours runs its program, it is no problem having one mum to two kids. Mine aren't walking yet, though I think all of the other kids there are, but they just crawl around the obstacle course, and they love it. When we are sitting in a circle doing songs, sometimes one of them will get away and crawl into the middle of the circle, but no one minds. It works because the person who takes it and the other mums are pretty flexible and understanding.
Hope you find something soon.

Had the same problem when mine were little. We Now live in Cairns( no help to you) But 'kindermusik' will let you take them both as does our local gymbaroo. the gymbaroo lady said to book a class when they have a helper in or she could take one of the girls for 'the demo' model. they both do half price for the second child..
Now they are 2 are yet to attempt anything else. Can finally manage the park on my own(as long as it's empty so I can see where Olivia has run off to!!) We do swimming on Sat with daddy..
Good luck

Thanks everyone for your ideas. I'm in Adelaide, so might keep calling Gymbaroo venues to see if any will take us on.
Many thanks,
Narelle

Hi Narelle,
Not sure where you are in Adelaide but we go to kindergym at the Western Community Centre - Marion Rd Cowandilla. I can take 2 on my own there, there is also another twin mum there that does 2 on her own.
Hope that helps.
Cheers
