~THE~MAGICIAN~
I always wanted to be called:

Patricia or Stephanie.

Now they are definitely not my cup of tea!

Tickle My Fancy
I was desperate for my name to be Kylie or Tiffany... Thankfully I don't feel that way anymore!

Wished my mum had of chosen Crystal or Chantelle (the names she was considering) instead of my name. But now I wouldn't change it!
PixieVee
I wanted to be called Pinky Purple, so no... I don't like it any more laugh.gif

I think I also liked Jane? Nice name, but not something that pops out at me.
la di dah
Was fond of Jenny and Suzie/Susie. And Jane.

Why? Because nobody could say "Jordanna" and thought it was ethnic and/or weird and I got cracks even from adults who should have known better.

Sophie or Sienna.

Or Bianca.

Still love Sophie and Sienna, not so much Bianca.

In fact, I wanted to be called 'Sienna Miller' before the actress was even known... I made the name up in like year 5 and wanted to be called that tongue.gif
Jenflea
I wanted to be called Josephine-Rabid Little Women fan as a child and avid Dr Who watcher. Luckily my mother decided against calling me Gwendolyne which was one of her choices. As was Guinevere, which would have been fine, except I HATE the shortening to Gwen. Then I wanted to call any future children Josephine, but having Joseph as a FiL that was out. I don't like naming kids the same names as family members. New baby, new name!
skylark
I used to call myself Emily, I thought it was "old fashioned" like a character out of Little House or Anne of Green Gables or something. When I was a teenager I used to tell boys in nightclubs that my name was Scarlett, rather than tell them my real name. I don't know why we did that (my best friend used to tell them her name was Danielle) unless it was to sound more glamorous, but our real names are actually a bit more exotic sounding than those, so that's a bit random really?
marnie27
I so wanted to be called Jamie-Lee when I was about 12. I spent an entire summer at my godparents house being called Jamie-Lee by them (my parent would have never indulged me like that laughing2.gif ) and being introduced to everyone as that. Bit embarrassing the following summer when I no longer wanted to be Jamie-Lee and several of their friends only knew me as that. blush.gif

Definitely not my style at all these days.
tomyoda
Jessica or Elizabeth, after the Wakefield sisters biggrin.gif .
countrymel
Juliet

I still have an unnatural hankering for a good balcony scene.
Phenomenon
Cassidy blush.gif
Robbie
I wanted to be Alice. I've always had good taste happy.gif
Benevolence
Cynthia. I though it was the most beautiful name in the world.
Luxe
Nicole... it's my middle name. I've grown to like my first name just as much if not more for being more uncommon but just as nice.
Jen1
I was happy with my first name it was just my middle name, I wanted Alison.
spellfall
I wanted to be Elyse as my name is Eloise and all the kids as school picked up on the 'wees' syllable. Mum and Dad had Elyse on the list! Wouldn't change it now, I love my name.
ginger72
Ginger. When I was about 4 I asked my mum if I could change my name to Ginger. To my surprise she was fine with it, but it never really took off with anyone else so eventually I gave up.

I feel like I've always been a Ginger trapped in the body of a Kate. It's been hard, but at least forums like this let me be my true self wink.gif
Owl_Little_Girls
Selena...so instead all my Barbies got called that. lol

Because nobody could say "Jordanna

We had a Jordanna at our primary school. We could all pronounce it properly. I loved the name and at one stage wished it was mine.

I spent most of my primary school days wishing my name was Sarah. We had a few Sarah's in our year. My name isn't common for my age and I wished I had a normal name like Sarah.
Buy Me A Pony!
I used to think Stacey was a fabulous name ohmy.gif

I was fine with my first name (excluding a brief period in which I wanted to be a Crystal) but always wanted a second middle name, as both my brothers, who were born after me, had two for family reasons.

I decided Anne was going to be my second middle name, and only gave up on nagging when I realised one day that coincidentally, we all had exactly the same number of letters in our names, so no one was short changed. Sorting through childhood things a while ago, I found several Babysitters Club books with 'Property of C... E... Anne' written inside tongue.gif
red door
cristy or whitney ( I know!)
Monroe
I wanted to be name Agnes after my Nan & I still think it's a fabulous name.
Jenno
Cindy - from the Brady bunch

And most of the girls from young talent time.

Very sad!!
fancie
Cynthia because it was the poshest name I knew when I was in primary school! By the time I'd hit high school I hated it.
SkyeMummy
Samantha.....loved it! I think bewitched had a bit to do with it.

Not so keen now, although my BF is Samantha and she is awesome!

greentea
Jessica. Hate the name now. Dont like mine either. wink.gif
meaghanflametree
Fonzie.

I have since overcompensated for this, with a pelvic floor in such dire straits that the loo is indeed my working office.

Sit on it.

BetteBoop
I loved my grandmother's name - Mariska.

I always wished my parents had given me something not so common or so English. However, I did get the Anglicised equivalent of Mariska for my MN which is common and English. Thanks mum and dad.

Still love Mariska.
bubblebear
Claudia. Because of the Babysitters' Club... ph34r.gif

I always wanted to be named Julie. Now I loathe the name, but I do love Juliana. My name wasn't common, going to school, the most common names were Julie, Susan and Deborah. That's probably why I wanted to be named Julie, just to fit in. Now, I wouldn't change my name for the world, even though it's common now, more so as a mn.

When I was little, I always wanted to be called names from the books I was reading, so I loved Anne Cordelia, Diana and Rilla (Anne of Green Gables series), Madeleine or Honey (Trixie Belden's best friend) and Elizabeth (SVH).

In Year 7, I gave myself the extra middle name of Miranda. I persisted with it for a whole year, but then got bored when no one else took it up.

In Year 9, I insisted on spelling and pronouncing my name with an extra letter to become the french version. Again, no one really ran with it but me Tounge1.gif

I still wish my name was something else - it's so 70s.

Totoro!
I liked the name Kimberly after watching 'Different Strokes' when I was a kid. I always thought my real name was too weird as back in the 70's/80's there weren't many people called Jade around.

This was mine too. After Stacey from the Baby-Sitters Club.

As it is, I do share a name with one of the SVH twins original.gif

At approx age 6 or 7 I wanted to be:

Anastacia Katherynne Eustacia

Known as Stacy.

......Yeah.
mypigeonpair01
biggrin.gif Robbie....I am Alice!
My name was pretty rare when I was younger (only knew 2 others). I liked Rachel, Kylie, Prudence. Pretty glad I'm Alice now though!
tasy

i always wanted my name to be samantha biggrin.gif

now i have a 14 year old called..... you guessed it
Delayfish
sad.gif OMG I just wanted to have a normal name when I was growing up! My name is Gypsy and I was teased mercilessly as a child. I wanted to be named Jane or Rebecca or Catherine or Sarah or Megan or Jennifer. I would have settled for anything that didn't give anyone cause to comment on my weird name! I'm in my late 30s now and when I was growing up everyone had regular common names except me!

It's definitely grown on me though and I actually appreciate having a less common name now biggrin.gif
BonKalKady
When very young I loved Katie.... Tried to get my friends to call me that at school LMAO.

A little bit older I became a fan of Rebekah, loved the uneek spelling and thought it was just awesome and how cool woudl you be! *ahem, I'm pretty sure she was on home and away* Rebekah Emologau or something LOL!!! happy.gif
vanessa71
I have always disliked my name, however have always loved my middle name, Eloise, I wished my parents had used that as a first name.

Often people would mistake my name for Samantha or Melissa, I never corrected them, I thought anything was better than my actual name.

tickledpink72
I went through a phase in Year 8 where I wanted to be called Dominique. In French class we had to chose a French name and thats what I chose. My passion for the name was extinguished when a boy in the class told me I shouldnt use it because "Dominique is a pretty girls name".
Catolyn
Samantha or Elizabeth. So classic and graceful. You would think I would like my own name (Carolyn) but I don't, it's way too formal for me.
bubbalee
DJ I just loved DJ on Full House lol
kadoodle
Anything but Amanda, especially with the maiden name I had! I really do wonder what the heck my parents were thinking.

I wanted to be called Sarah.
Catalilli
I prefer my middle name and used to tell people it was my name.
Elizabeth. There were 4 Sarahs in my class and it was really annoying.

I tried to uneekize my name when I was a teen. I became 'Jayde'.

Shudder.

I chose Monique in French class and went through a stage of wanting it as my real name too. It seemed tray sheek. wink.gif

I made my family call me Emily then I changed my mind and made them call me Rebecca.
I still like Emily, but Rebecca is a bit bogan now right?
