Hello Ladies, hopefully I will be able to lurk around in this group from now on - DH and I discovered today that we have 2 healthy twins on board! We had our first IVF attempt this year, and much to our amazement, it worked (and a little better than expected, lol). We're currently only 8wks, but fingers crossed for a good 32+ weeks. original.gif

Anyway, to my (first of many) question! I have already ordered a home heart doppler off ebay, but realised today that it might not work properly with twins? Just wondered if anyone else has tried to use one - or should we just sell it? I'd be a bit disappointed if we couldn't keep an 'eye' on how they were going! original.gif

[color=Teal]Congratulations on your pregnancy! I too fell pregnant after my first round of IVF (ICSI)!!

Can't help you with the doppler question as we never used one, but I just wanted to wish you the best for the rest of your pregnancy and feel free to ask as many questions as you like!

Take care, Vanessa original.gif

Hi there.

Firstly congratulations, a very exciting time ahead original.gif

I hired a doppler, and could very easily tell the difference between the two babies by the heartbeats being different rates.

The only thing to remember with them is that when nothing can be found not to get yourself stressed. I often found the babies were in a position that I found hard to pick up from.

To be honest I hired mine from a company here in Sydney, and only used it for a little while. Once they were moving I fetlt I didn't need it.

Congratulations again.

Thank you very much ladies! I'm still in a state of dazed shock to be honest - twins were absolutely the last thing we expected.

No_idea! - how shocking is it when you first discover that the ICSI WORKED, rofl!!! Everyone says that the first attempt is a trial run, but I guess not original.gif

Gracie - thankyou for clarifying about the doppler! I might as well give it a go original.gif

btw, all your baby pics are just gorgeous. There's something very special about twin pics!! Nee, are your photos pro ones or did you take them yourself?!

Congratulations Doh & Partner!!! Welcome to the wonderful world of twins! its really lovely.

I was paranoid in the early stages, possibly just still in shock and it was even harder for us as we didnt tell anyone of our news until 13 weeks so it was very surreal. I just popped into the maternity ward and got the heart beats checked whenever I felt the need and in the early stages I was getting monitored each week anyway.

My girlfriend did have one and I got very stressed out trying to find the two "different" rates and honestly it was more stress than it was worth, so I gave it back.

I think you will use it like Gracie said until you can feel them move - then you may re-sell it back on e-bay or here on EB, I am positive someone will buy it from you!

Just try to relax and if at any stage you feel you need reassurance visit your Ob or GP, you will develop a great relationship with them by the end! LOL - I did!!!

Very very happy for you and look forward to following your progress.

[color=Teal]Oh I know!! We were absolutely stunned when we found out that I fell pregnant after our 1st round of ICSI. And, we were even more blown away when we found out it was originally triplets!!!

Take care, and enjoy your pregnancy. It's such an amazing journey.
