I know we still have AGES to get all our stuff but DH and I have already started having a good look around. DH likes to research and so has been flat out with baby stuff for a couple of weeks now!!

One thing we're unsure of, as to whether or not they'd be useful is baby slings (you know the slings you use to carry bubs on your chest - I hope I'm making some sense blush.gif). Now, if we were having a singleton I reckon a baby sling would be useful as I'd probly use it when I was just ducking out to the shops or if we were just doing some window shopping, but with two, I'm not so sure we'd use them as often (obviously we'd get two slings and we'd carry a baby each). I think that if we're going out anywhere it'll be the pram or us carrying them from eg. car to shopping trolley.

What's everyone elses experience?

Hey Butters,

My DH suggested we get two and I wear one on the front and one on the back....

I think they would probably be useful for times when (for example) you go shopping alone and put one in the trolley and carry one (if no twin trolley) or you can carry one in a capsule and one in the sling.

We are going to get the Kapoochi ones as they're pretty comfy (we tried them on).

BTW - how's the morning sickness?

Cheers,

Kate

Hi there butterscotch.

firstly congratulations............... original.gif

Our twins are now just seven weeks, and I have just bought a sling for when I go out. After a few hassles at the local supermarket and the lack of baby seat trollies..........(another story) I now take one in a sling and DS or DH pushes the other in a trolly.

I also find that one of my twins is a bit of a boob muncher to settle. So I have put him in the sling a couple of times and he goes straight off, it then leaves me hands free to put the other one to bed.

Only being a beginner myself, I may be getting into bad habbits, but it makes life easier at the moment.

Wishing you all the best.

Great investment/baby gift. used ours quite a bit. Olivia hated being in the pram so I used to go walking with her in the sling and pop Amber in a single pram... Also great for taking places the twin pram doesn't fit. Used them for travelling on planes as well as we could both carry a baby but still have hands free for luggage etc etc etc....

Had the baby bjorn brand.look out for when their is a baby sale on. easy to use wash up perfectly in the machine. I've just passed one of mine onto my sister.

My vote is not useful. We bought two baby trekkers, and while they are good, we have only used them about three times in 8 months. Much more useful for single babies, I think, so I will hang on to ours in case we ever have another one! Or could be good if you have one baby who doesn't settle well. Possibly useful for shopping expeditions, but we find it easier for one of us to do the grocery shopping while the other looks after the babies.

Definitely not a 'must have' in our experience - we could've spent the money elsewhere.

Someone lent us one - a Baby Bjorn I think - we only used it a couple of times so I'm glad we didn't buy it. When the girls were really little I wasn't happy about their heads rolling around even with the support thing and we used the pram when we went out. So think about your lifestyle and maybe borrow one to start with and see if you use it. It's annoying to buy stuff which you never use.

We have baby bjorn slings which came in very handy for us and got used a lot. I think it depends on your lifestyle a great deal but my husband and I often did the shopping together and took the babies in the slings. We found it a hassle wheeling a double pram around a busy shopping centre and found the slings were great. They also came in handy for me to use on my own when trying to settle one twin and still have free hands to do other things. This can be a life saver when you have a screaming child. All the best with your twins.

I am looking at buying a Maya Wrap and a Babytrekker. The Babytrekker I think Dh might actually use (and they look handy when baby is bigger) and I have always liked the look of Maya Wrap for newborns. I know with twins we might not get as much use out of it but I am thinking it could be handy to put one baby in ones and then put the other in a shopping trolley/ leave in capsule to get places for quick trips. I also have a single pram (serves me right to go shopping so early Tounge1.gif) so wasn't sure whether there may be some times when a single pram with a baby in a sling would be easier.

The hardest thing I am finding though is that Maya Wrap's and Babytrekkers don't come up on Ebay much. I may put out a call to fellow EBers I think!
