Hi all,

I posted the other week about Twin 2, Scarlett finally taking some steps, up to 35 in a row. However a couple of days later she started walking along on her knees..and it now seems that is the way she intends to stay! For love nor money will this child even attempt to walk on her feet now.

Should I be worried about this at all, or should i just pass it off as a phase? I am worried that the pressure on her knees etc can't be good for her legs or muscle development.

Any ideas..never had this happen with the other two!

Cheers,

Jo

My dd walked in exactly the same way. She walked, and then proceeded to walk on her knees for a month. Sometimes I felt she was waiting for her brother to catch up - when he started walking everywhere so did she.

I know it's frustrating, knowing she can walk but chooses to do the knee dance, but she will grow out of it eventually. As I said, my dd did it for about a month!

Hi Jo,

I think it's normal too. It's not quite the same thing, but Eva use to mix walking with half walking (on one knee). I'm just a bit vague on how long she did it for. Mine also had a tendency to start something and then stop for a week or so and then start again as if they didn't have that break. IYKWIM?

Hi There, One of my girls did a similar thing, began to walk and then went 'of the boil'.
Would it help if she had something to push (that required standing) like a baby 'trolley'or 'pusher' ?
I'm sure it's what lots of babies do. Good Luck,
Caroline

Hi there

Both my girls walked like this for about 2 months before they walked on their feet. It's certainly a sight to see & they were so fast too.
