hi all, just wondering if anyone could recommend any natural therapies/therapist in canberra (pref south) to help induce baby. I'm very keen to avoid a looming medical induction.

TIA!!

Not a therapist...

But I swear by Clary Sage Oil. Though I had started to lose my plug a little when I started burning it. I bought it from the health shop in the Belconnen markets, but I am sure most health shops would have it.

Good luck, I hope it all goes well!

I used Alex Perry (accupunture) at Blue Sky Clinic in Lyneham. He was great. I had 4 sessions in 4 days (not cheap) and ultimately i needed an induction anyway but within an hour of the first lot of gel, I was in labour. I believe most people need two lots of gel. I think the accupunture helped get my body ready, i def had more braxton hicks after each session but in the end i ran out of time! Good luck

There are some great chiropractors down South. original.gif I'd probably be calling Kathy Knight or Tash Pragnell if I lived down your way biggrin.gif.

I'll second Alex at Blue Sky Clinic in Lyneham. He is awesome!

Good luck.

I second the clary sage oil, my midwife suggested I rub it on some accupuncture points on my little toe and ankle (can't remember exactly where sorry) about three times a day. That was a Thursday (about a week overdue) and I went into labour on Sunday. That was after trying every single natural remedy I've ever heard of!

Thanks for replies! Will definitely be getting onto those.

Why can't these babies just arrive on time??!!

I saw an acupuncturist a couple of times before i had a medical induction. Obviously the acupuncture didn't get me into full labour, but the induction went without a hitch so I like to think it helped get my body prepared. The induction was comparable to my previous 3 spontaneous labours, there was no feeling as though the contractions were overwhelming or anything. I was very pleased I gave acupuncture a go. (I saw Elissa Chapman at Adjust for Health in Lyneham.)

Good luck with the birth.
