I'm on a boat!
My sister is having a girl and is trying to find a name to go with her boyfriends last name. His last name is horrible to say the least... 'Goldsack' ...seriously!

She loves Aubrey but he has said no, his top name is Janine... I know, right!

As you can see they need major help, the name has to be feminine to go with the harsh last name original.gif

If he likes Janine maybe Josephine...

My DH just said...don't use Mia or Isabella to go with the last name wink.gif

Um....I will try and think and come back.

its a name, its not going to be changed, its not horrid and as long as they dont choose richard to go with it then i dont see a problem

going by your and their theory every dname is going to sound bad with it cause its the last name you dont like
JJ
With a last name like that, why don't they consider using your sister's last name instead?

Just a thought. original.gif

Had a think. I like Jacinta Goldsack..... Josephine Goldsack. Still thinking....

Eloise Goldsack
Emily Goldsack
Charlotte Goldsack
Amelia Goldsack
Lucia (pron. Lu-see-a) Goldsack
Loveoneson
Not loving the suggestion of Lucia huh.gif Lu - see - a can sound like You See A Goldsack. wink.gif

The surname is not actually that bad really, just need the right sounding name with it.

Gudrun
I think the surname is fine but why isn't she using her surname if she likes it better?

Aubrey is a boys' name as far as I am concerned so it is hardly feminine and Janine is a bit unexciting.

Janina, Jana or Nina would all be cool, feminine names IMO. And good with Goldsack. Or Ainsley, or Audrey.

I don't think it's so bad, but why give the baby the father's surname if she doesn't like it?
Maple Leaf
If they aren't married, why bother giving the baby his surname? I can't stand the automatic assumption it's the father's right to have his name passed down when he doesn't even bother marrying the mother.

Hope the child isn't named Jenny Tahlia. (Genitalia) wink.gif

Agree x 1000

Also love the suggestion of Nina.

What about:

Miranda
Jemima
Lucinda
Eloise
Francesca
Annabel

I think a long classic name would sound okay! I am loving Annaliese for varying reasons!

at least it's not pincock. i used to share a house with a guy who had that as his last name. if people tried to pronounce it "pin -co" he would correct them. goldsack just makes me think of leprechauns.

This. Most women would refuse to pass on a revolting first name for family reasons but they think nothing of giving their children unattractive or weird surnames.

It's baffling. Kids will tease over a surname just as easily as a first name.

Yes, and to think some woman has probably married him and resigned her children to a lifetime of being called Needle d*ck biggrin.gif
