Is there such a thing that anyone's aware of. I've looked at several pregnancy books that only ever have one page or a tiny amount of info about being pregnant and birthing twins and I'd like to be able to read more info specific to being pregnant with twins. Are there any books on multiple births that anyone's got and recommends?

I'd also love to hear about any books related to after these little cherubs arrive. I'm sure EB will be a great source of info for me but I often find with books I'll come across stuff I hadn't even thought of asking about IYKWIM.

Thanks everyone original.gif

Hi
I have read a few TWINS books. The ones which I felt were the most informative were
TWINS Author : Katrina Bowman and Louise Ryan
Twins & Multiple Births Author : Dr Carol Cooper

a terrific book for after the birth but it is aimed at the individual baby (which is what they are anyway) is Secrets of the Baby Whisperer Author : Tracy Hogg

I hope you find these helpful. Our Hospital had a library which you can borrow heaps of books about multiples if you want.

Hope this helps

another book I found useful is:
"More Than One: Twins and Multiples and How to Survive them" by Lindsay Simpson and Andiee Paviour (Do Not Press)®

There are plenty of books on raising multiples. Join the Multiple Birth Association in your State they hire out books and also most Hospitals also hire out books. Not much on birth as it is pretty much the same as giving birth to one except you have twice the joy at the end.

One good book is Twins by Katrina Bowman and Louise Ryan. This is good because the women have twins and have experienced everything.

Enjoy, it is great being a Mum of twins

I second the twins one by Katrina and Louise - loved it!

I agree, the book "Twins - A practical and emotional guide to parenting twins" by Katrina Bowman and Louise Ryan is a very good read. It was written in 2002 by two Australian twin mums so the info is relevant and up to date.

Hi,
I was also looking for books on multiples when i was pregnant, and planned on buying a few and getting as much advice as possible, But like almost every one else who has replied, i bought TWINS by Katrina Bowman and Louise Ryan and found it terrific, i never even needed to buy another book. My twins are now 2 and a half and i still have a flick through every now and again if i need some tips on tricky 'twin' topics.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions so far! A friend also said that the latest Parenting mag has a section on twins this month.

Jen - DH and I are already conscious of referring to the babies as the babies or the children but not as the twins. DH in particular is really adamant about it. We want to make sure they are each treated as individuals. The hard part will be making sure everyone else does. We refuse to dress them the same if they're the same sex and have already copped a few comments from people (mostly older people such as DH's parents) who insist that if they're the same sex they should be dressed the same. There is only 18 mths between my sister and I and we used to always get dressed the same and we REALLY hated it so I know what it's like to be dressed the same!

HI

I am preg with triplets & had to resort to buying bookds off www.Amazon.com as I just couldnt find anything anywhere else on the them. If you go to their website you can probably do a search on twins & I'm sure you will get several books come up. There prices are pretty reasonable too.

Cheers, Lilymurray
