Please help! We struggled to name our first son, he was unnamed until about 2 weeks after birth because DH and I couldnt agree on anything. In the end I let DH have his choice because I had enough.

Once again we are struggling with boys names as we cant agree on anything. Please let me know which of these names you like the most:

My favs:
Isaac
Lewis/Louis

DH's favs:
Finn
Milo
Declan
Archer

Others we are considering but dont love:
Max
Lucas
Patrick
Rowan
Miles
Ivan
Levi

Open to any other suggestions. Names ending 'y' dont suit our surname eg Danny, Henry.

Isaac Archer Surname

Goodluck
hippybub
I like Finn.
ForsakenTruth
Louis
I prefer the Germanic spelling (as above) or the Spanish varient Luis to the Anglo-Saxon Lewis. It just doesn't have the same strength to it.
Sarie
Declan Patrick

Archer Lewis
Carmen02
i really like Declan
kelly77
I love Finn! But I am biased as my DS2 is Finn.
Chubub
Declan

I like Lewis or Lucas. Don't like any of your DH's names. What about Asher?
fifi-trixibelle
My favs:
Isaac- lovely
Lewis/Louis- Lewis is lovely

DH's favs:
Finn- very nice, but I definitely prefer it as a nickname only to Finlay
Milo- nice, but I definitely prefer it as a nickname only to Miles
Declan- really, really love
Archer- lovely

Others we are considering but dont love:
Max- I only really like it as a nickname only to Maxim, Maximus, Maximilian or Maxwell
Lucas- lovely
Patrick- lovely
Rowan- nice, but I prefer Roman
Miles- this is great with Milo as a nickname
Ivan- Milat? Even without that automatic reaction I don't like it
Levi- lovely

Without knowing your other kids names, Declan is definitely my pick. For a combo I love Declan Patrick, Declan Lucas or Declan Isaac.

Lewis - and it's YOUR turn to choose the name, thems the rules, dontcha know - he automatically forfeits because he got to choose last time.

We are in the same boat - except that DH has no ideas but just says "I don't like that" to all mine!

I like Isaac and I have a friend who's son is called Milo plus we have Miles on our short list this time, I prefer Miles as a name but I love Milo as a nickname.

I also agree it's your turn original.gif

Also who's choosing the middle name/surname? We have different surnames and a family tradition of giving son/daughter the parents first name as a middle name - with 2 sons now I say DH has got middle name and surname of both so I get first choice first name!

I do allow him to veto though which may be a mistake...

I really like Isaac and Lewis/Louis (I like both spellings, not sure which I'd go with). I also like Finn and Declan.

From your other list, I like Max and Lucas and love Patrick.

Tough choice, but I think my favourite of all is Patrick. Good luck!

MummyFrog80
I like Finn the best however, I say it's your turn to choose the name seeing as your DH got to pick last time. I do feel for you though......we are in exactly the same boat and cant decide on a name for our son either.....and all that being said I will probably give in and go with DH's choice cos i've also just about had enough!!
MnM
Miles
Louis
Max

Are my favourties from your list - in that order biggrin.gif

You have some great names there, i wouldn't go looking for more, i think one of those would be great.

Thank you all so much for your input, i'll be showing DH this thread and hopefully we can decide before baby is born this time!

Totally agree that it's my turn this time but DH has conveniently forgotten that I actually gave in last time rolleyes.gif

My basic rules for choosing names:
  1. Pick a name you can yell. (It comes in handy in shopping centers.)
  2. Check to see if the initials make a word of their own.

From both yours & your DH list my favs are Issac & Archer.
