Hi All,
Was just wondering, has anyone had lower abdominal/bowel pains after a c section?
I had my son 6 months ago via a emergency c section and now am starting to get pains
for the last month.
I have had a few checks and all come back clear.
My Doctor who used to be an Ob is sending me for a scan, as she believes that stuff could have
been moved / squashed back in or around just before they stitched me back up.
Apparently she has seen a few of these on a second c section. (hopefully I am making sense.)
Think it could be possible?

I had an emergency ceaser and I didnt experience any pains that you are describing especially not 6 months later. I feel I had a pretty bad recovery but I started to feel pretty good within about a month afterwards.

great question. I too had a c-sect (non emergency) and sometimes get bad lower abdominal pains, and would love to anyone knows why this could be. I had mine 5mths ago.

me too - still even 14 months later, never really went away between when i had DD, emergency c/s, and when i had DS..... No help, but a lot of pain. Would love to know what it is. I've usually only had the suggestion of 'adhesions'?
Sorry i'm no help!

I was getting heaps of almost sharp pains down low, almost groin area and had exploratory surgery.....the only thing they found was fluid in my stomach cavity. They said it was not an awful lot (60mls), and should not have been causing the pain, but the pain stopped after it was removed. HTH

Scar tissue/adhesions on your bowel maybe?

There is very little fiddling round of other organs in a lower segment C/S aside from the bladder occasionally being moved back out of the way. The bowels are usually up above your uterus so I am not sure what your doctor is referring to OP?
There could possibly be some adhesions that involve bladder or ovaries and these often won't show up on an ultrasound. I think it is worth getting another opinion and perhaps get your doctor to ring your obstetrician to see if there was something he saw that could be causing the pain.
Good luck.
