Hi all,
I was just wondering what the best moment and worst moments of your multiple pregnancies were (the birth doesn't count!)
My best moment was finding out that one of the twins was a boy as I have always dearly wanted a boy and after having lost my father just 5 months before getting pregnant it seemed right to have a boy. Funnily enough DS is just like my Dad in so many ways it's frightening!
My worst moment was actually when I had to inject insulin into my big swollen belly for the last 2 weeks of the pregnancy, I hated it and it made me feel sick and miserable.
Anyone else?

Hi Jo!
What a good idea...
Best Moment - when they both got hiccups together
Worst Moment - finding new stretch marks every day!

Best Moment: Telling my dad I was having twin boys (he lost his twin brother at birth)and seeing him get teary every time he talked about them.
Worst moment: Most of the pregnancy not being able to do anything because I was so huge and swollen up
Can i also add my funniest moment:
having a cleaning frenzy right at the end I don't know why hadn't cleaned the whole 8 months and getting stuck between the toilet and the wall while I was scrubbing on my hands and knees and to scared to call DH because I would be in trouble for being down there in the first place LOL

Best moment....finding out we were pregnant (twins were a bonus after ttc 4 1/2 years)
Worst-developing 'puppps' at about 32 weeks. ( a distant memory after the boys were born though!)

Best Moment was finding out that it was one of each only a shade behind finding out we were expecting 2
Worst moment : Realising that I wasn't going to make it to term and finding out there were growth concerns for DD. This is teamed with the fact that Sept 11 happened when ui was on bed rest and I was so scared I couldn't protect them from a world gone mad.

Best moment was when we realised that we didnt have one but two living babies after loosing our daughter at 17 weeks and thinking we were loosing this one too.
Worse moment was the swollen ankles abd morning sickness.
Funny moment when dh tied string on my toes and left it there for me to reach, which I couldnt at 34 weeks pregnant! Thank godness for my son! :-) Who told my dh not to do that to his mum!

Wems, just to add my one of my funniest moments...I too went on a cleaning frenzy. I never had the "nesting urge" with my DD1, but suddenly a few days before I went into labour DH came home after work to find I had taken the washing machine to pieces so I could clean every little bit of it!!!

Best moments - Telling hubby and my family when we first found out; Telling the rest of our family and friends; Their first kicks; ALL of their movements and having two little people growing inside of me!
Worst moments - being admitted to hospital with severe abdominal pain, dehydration and morning sickness; being terribly sick for the first 4 months and having to take drugs to fix it (scary!); not having an appetite for food and not being able to stomach cooking dinner (still can't stand cooking smells!)
After 17 months TTC - Identical TWINS!! Due 23 June 2005

Great thread.

Best moments:
* realising I had two beautiful ones in there.
* the reaction from my mother when I told her over the phone that we were having twins. She was at work at the time and went absolutely ballistic - screaming out to everyone that we were having twins.
* every little kick and movement - and watching the plate I'd rest on my tummy go up and down
* the birth of a much wanted little girl, followed a minute later by her brother.
Worst moments:
* ugh!! the stretchies
* horrible fluid problems in the last 4 weeks
* barely being able to move towards the end because of my back
Funniest moments:
* having a bath in the last couple of weeks, and having to get my dh to help me out of the bath.
* dh shaving my legs for me as I couldn't reach
* post-delivery - my milk was coming down and they were as hard as rocks - I had two icepacks on my boobs to calm them down a bit. Forgot about them and answered the door with the icepacks sticking out of the top & bra I was wearing - very embarrassing.

Hi There
I think that the best monment was finding out we were having twins after 6 1/2 years of ttc.
And telling my grand mother on her b day we were pg
The worst is at the end of pg last 2 weeks before birth in and out of hospital and high blood pressure and not being able to move.

This is a great thread.... such a nice thing to read in my first moment of internet access sicne we moved in woth my parents!
But I have to be honest and say I had trouble coming up with a good moment while I was pregnant (after they were born was easy but while I was pregnant? ack!)
I didn't enjoy much of being pregnant starting from the overwhelming fear when they told me I was having twins to the day they were born, including hurling my guts up every day inbetween! But I've though long and hard and I am very happy to say I have found at least a few positive moments during the pregnancy.
Best moment - Telling the 3-5 year olds I taught that I was having two babies. It took them a looooong time to get their heads around the concept and I still have the drawing one of my boys gave me of me pregnant - a big fat belly and inside a baby with two heads!!!!
Worst moment - suddenly knowing that something was terribly horribly wrong at about 25 weeks, and about 4 hours later to be told that we had TTTS.
Funniest moment - wacthing twin 1 (who we now know as Izzy) via ultra sounds grab the giant need that was stuck in my belly draining out excess amniotic fluid. She got her fist around it and wouldn't let go for anything! Even fought the sonographer who was trying to wiggle it free! Probably doesn't sound funny but I couldn't feel any pain and at trhe time it was great comic relief at a time of huge stress!
hugs
Kate

Finding out it was b/g twins

The stretch marks
landing in hospital with high blood pressure
the fluid!

[color=Teal]Worst moments:
* feeling terribly ungrateful at being "too" pregnant (when we found out I was pregnant with triplets) and being totally overwhelmed by the whole experience.
* finding out at my 12 week scan that we'd lost one of the triplets
Best moments:
* finding out I was pregnant after my 1st round of ICSI, after years of trying
* telling DH he was going to be a daddy
* DH telling his mother and grandparents that I was pregnant (I didn't realise he'd get so teary!)
* feeling 2 little people squirming around inside me
* seeing my beautiful boys for the first time
* seeing DH play with the boys and how much they all adore each other
* loving them more and more every day

nice thread...
Best moment... telling my mum. she also was at work so went nuts on the phone, crying and laughing.( my sister was a twin but mum lost one late in the pregnancy). telling my dad who was having a bone marrow transplant he swore then he'd live to see the girls and passed away when they were 4 months old.
Worst moment... THE CONSTANT THROWING UP.... driving with a bucket on my lap. i'm a wedding and event florist and i'd have to run out in the middle of appointments to throw up in sinks/buckets/garbage bins in the street(YUCK)
Funniest twin moment... There are too many. but I love watching them dance to Rage on a sat morning. and watching Olivia dance to Kylie minogue. She always dances 5 songs straight before she has a break.

Like some of you I had trouble thinking of a best moment of my twin pregnancy. After some thought:
Best moment: getting my OB to agree on a Wednesday afternoon that I would be induced on the Friday morning, not the next Tuesday
Worst moment: can't decide between:
- back pain which was so bad I was on crutches for the last month
- carpal tunnel syndrome and tendonitis so that I had numb fingers for 4 months
- piles like you wouldn't believe (sorry TMI!)
- worrying non-stop about whether I was eating the right things, resting enough, would I go into premature labour
Not the best 37 weeks and 1 day of my life!

Best moments:
Finding out we were having twins after ttc for 2yrs.
Each Sunday over breaky we'd breath a huge sigh of relief knowing we'd made another wk.
Worst
Having constant seizures for the first 12wks and being covered in blood & bruises as I generally collected furniture and tapware on my way down.
Having a perforated bowel at 29wks.

It's been making me clucky thinking back to being pregnant... better get straight to the bad bits then!
Worst moments
Morning of the girls birth day having three midwives trying for 30 minutes to find Twin 2's (Tia's) heartbeat.
Having to pour water over huge belly in the bath to keep it warm, then having to call DH to haul me out!
Going swimming to take the weight off my weary body and feeling ALL that weight come back as you get out of the water, and in the end not being able to climb the steps out the pool as the weight was TOO much!
Best Bits
Seeing one healthy baby floating around on the screen after TTC for years and then seeing another one!!!
Watching your belly make the stangest shapes!
Meeting two precious babies who had everything they should in the right place and nothing they shouldn't have!

Great thread - making me even more clucky!!
Best - Seeing the look on DH face before the sonographer explained the "other shape"
being able to see the boys weekly via u/s in the last 6 weeks
Worst - Being told I would need a GA to deliver my boys (severe pre eclampsia)
spending 4 1/2 out of the last 6 weeks in Hospital
being 5foot tall and 4 foot around
A stomach the looks more like a giant BALL SACK then a stomachFunniest
Major placenta brain (lack of common sense)eg sticking my finger in a hand held mixer "to see if it was on high" (no major damage) and then crying that I have gone stupid
Ohh how the memories continue to flow

I love this thread, its so funny and sweet!
Best:
Two babies with hiccups!
Seeing them touch each other on the ultrasound.
Not telling people we were having twins - just showing them the ultrasound and watching their faces when the penny dropped.
The look on DH's face when I woke him at 3.30am and told him it was time to go to the hospital (35wks) - I've never seen him jump of bed so fast!
Worst:
Finally finding a comfortable position to sleep in (with the aid of 6 pillows) and then having to get up to pee AGAIN!
Reflux
Sciatica
Having a head banging into my liver for the last 4 weeks or so.
Did I mention reflux?
Funniest:
DH telling the sonographer at the first u/s that we haven't told anyone we are pregnant yet in case it has 2 heads and the the sonographer saying...'Well actually...'
DH having to help me up from various positions - the bath, the floor, wedged in doorways etc.
Keep 'em coming girls! This is such a cool thread.

My best and worst are the same.
Getting told that my babies would have to be born due to my HELLP syndrome getting worse.
I was excited to finally meet them and find out the sexes.....
but was terrified as I knew they were so little and premmie (32 weeks)
