I gave birth to twins a month ago and still have a huge stomach. The rest of my body is back to its pre-pregnancy shape but my skin has stretched so much that I don't know whether it will ever return to normal. I get comments every day asking me when my 'baby is due'.

I was interested to know how long it took other Mums who gave birth to twins for their stomach to return to normal.

Hi Julie!
congratulations on the birth of your twins original.gif !!
hope it is all going smoothly for you - the first few days/weeks/months LOL with your twins can be very daunting! When I had my babies, both times it took a few weeks, at least 6, before I was back to anything that resembled "normal". My stomach will never be the same again though, my skin has been badly stretched & I know the only way that will be fixed is surgery!

So you might need to give yourself a bit more time, do your post natal exercises and you will prbably see some difference soon, but if you are worried at all get your GP to check have a feel & they can tell you whether your uterus has returned to normal size, I know if you aren't breastfeeding it can take longer for your uterus to go back to normal.

hope this helps !! original.gif

Hi Julie!
Congrats on the birth of your babies.
I just wanted to say that I am VERY jealous that the rest of your body is back to its pre-pregnancy shape! I still look like the Goodyear Blimp, but found my tummy has shrunk down mostly in the past 2 weeks or so.

As Jane has said, I think the post natal exercises are the key - especially if you're like me & not breastfeeding.

I would love to hear how your bubs are going too!

hi there
I took a good 3 months for a normal look was to be there.
But I was bf both at the same time and exerising too.
I had a c/section and this took a while to heal and return to normal. But my stomach when down quickly after birth as the doc given me a injection to help contraction of the uterus.
I hope that you soon return to normal.
Congratulations on the birth of your twins.
I hope to see you around the boards too.
