Hi everyone
I was wondering what you all have done for your mutiples 1st birthday party or not and how many to invite to party?
Help please as this is my first time at planning a party for twins.
I though that a small party for family is a good idea?
I look forward to seeing what everyone thinks and has done. So please keep your ideas coming to help us
Thanks
Rosie

The girls' 1st birthday party was really more for us than them - a bit of a "thank goodness we've survived" party and a celebration that we'd made it through the first year of the baby marathon.

My parents, sister and niece all travelled to be with us. We also invited close friends who had supported us through the year. The invites were mostly our friends, some of whom had kids who of course were invited. All up I think we had about 30 people (I think there were 6 kids apart from our 2) - party was at 3pm (to try to coincide with a time when the girls were up, although that didn't work so well as they were sick with ear infections, poor things).

We had bubbles, beer juice and soft drinks and for the food:

- club sandwiches (made by me and my Mum)
- sausage rolls (oldies but goodies)
- cheerios (all the adults pretended they were for the kids but the adults ate most of them!)
- fairy bread (100s and 1000s on white bread quarters with no crusts - ostensibly for the kids!)
- orange fudge slice

We decorated with Happy Birthday banners and balloons (pink of course!).

I ordered 2 delicious chocolate cakes iced with Happy Birthday Harriet on one and Happy Birthday Eleanor on the other. My tip is to sing Happy Birthday to each child separately - start as you mean to go on, I say.

All in all it was a great day and a real celebration of the girls and of us as a family.
