My hubby and I really like Audrey for a girl!

Thank you

I don't know any little Audreys. It was the 82nd-most popular name in NSW in 2010 according to the Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages.

My son had an Audrey at kindy but I don't think it's that common. I really like the name - classy and timeless.

Thanks for your responses so far.
I just hope it does not become as popular as Ava or Ruby in 10 years time..!

Not a fan of the name, but there were 80 born in Victoria last year, making it the 58th most popular name.

Even if it does become popular, don't worry. Audrey is such a lovely, timeless name and if you love it, then you should use it.
Names come in cycles - think Emily, Sarah, Anna - all popular names but still lovely names. FWIW I like Ruby too even though it is a popular name.

Before my 20 week scan I was convinced I was having a girl and had named "her" Audrey Rose. I had kept it quiet but once we found out it was a boy I did tell a few people and I got some horrible reactions. Mum basically said that she was glad it was a boy because there was no way she would have called any grandchild of hers by a name like Audrey

I love the name!!!

I only know one, but I know of two others and have met a few at the local park (DD insists on finding out the name of every other kid at the play ground - a future Baby Names addict for sure). We're in Melbourne, I don't know this is an Audrey hot spot.
My guess is that if popularity really bothers you, you should pick another name. Having said that, I doubt it is in the Ruby/Ava league.

I have an Audrey and I always knew that is what i was going to call my little girl. Audrey has only met two other girls that had her name and there is definitely none in her class at preschool. I always get comments about what a beautiful name it is.

Haven't really heard this name around much.
I love this name, but I couldn't use it when/if I have a girl as my surname ends with 'ry' and it sounds funny.
I say use it - it's beautiful.

Only Audrey I know is my cat. But she is lovely.
I know a lovely little lady (one of my DD's friends :P well really her mum is my friend) whos middle name is Audrey and it is such a pretty name. Works so well with her first name.
But it is also lovely as a first name.

I named my daughter Audrey and she's the only one I know of. I love classic names and older ladies always comment on how it's a beautiful name and/or they love Audrey Hepburn.
The other comment we get is that it's nice to see someone naming their child a "real" name haha... as opposed to some of these flavour of the month names.

I think I saw it at about #57 in the most popular names of last year in Aus? I've seen it's a lot higher up in popularity in the UK?
Lovely name!
MIL said it was boring when I said I was thinking about the name early in my pregnancy but that's about the only negative feedback we got (to our faces).

I adore it, I wanted it for ds#2 if he popped out a girl but dh didnt. I now know one but still would have loved it for this baby if a girl but baby's daddy has chosen the girls name.

I don't know any, and thank goodness for that LOL.
It reeks of old lady, Coronation Street to me.
It goes with Hilda.
