Good Afternoon!

We were so excited to recieve Hayden and Brooklen's Birth certificates and extracts in the mail the other day!! It was one of those moments wink.gif

I called the registry office of Births, Deaths and marriages to find out if there is any way that Brooklen can be placed as a sibling on Haydens certificate, but as Hayden was born at 8:38am & Brooklen at 8:40am he has no other sibling born before him, to the same parents.......

On Brooklens certificate Hayden is listed as a sibling (other child to the same parents) and on Haydens it will always look as though he is the only one IYKWIM.

Given - it does say 1st Born of twins & 2nd Born of twins, but it just doesnt seem fair.

Are other states the same???? Or is it just Western Australia?
I think the wording should change to "other Children of same parents" rather than "previous children of same parents"

Just a little disapointed with it - anyone else??

I am in Qld and on my second twins certificate it only has my two other children, not his older twin!

Yes it does say twin 2 but we believe it is wrong also.

In the future if someone were doing a family tree they would generally get the birth certificate of the youngest child as it would have all the other childrens names on it. In our case though Xander isn't on anybodys birth certificate even though he isn't the youngest. we did put his details on the application for noah's but they didn't come out. I must admit I have followed it up but we were miffed at the time.

hi There
In Canberra we have on our birth certificates for our girls is for our eldest twin is just herbut it does say elder twin
and on the youger one both names but krystal is in the pervious children part. It also says younger twin
So I guess this is pretty standard for mutiple births.
I will ask some other mums of mutilples in our club and just let you all know

Vic is the same - I found it disappointing too that Jessica (first born) rates a mention on Isabel's birth certificate but not the other way around.

Also, they made a mistake on Isabel's birth cert. On Jessica's my DH is listed as 28 years old (correct) but he is 29 yo on Isabel's. We're still deciding whether or not to change it but we have a laugh that he aged a year between twins! Must have been the stress of it all original.gif

Hi there and thanks for the replies! We were a little upset with the whole issue. It seems to be standard from state to state and standard for all multiple births.

Lisa - we had a spelling mistake on Brooklens instead of Underground they put "undercround" for Phils occupation, but I called them and within the day I had a whole new set to collect from the post office. I have kept the old ones too! I would get it changed, after all you do pay from them $$$ they can at least get it right.

Thanks again......

No_idea!
[color=Teal]Mmmm, looks like I'm the odd one out here. It really doesn't bother me that Kai's name isn't on Ryan's birth certificate. Afterall, he wasn't born when Ryan came into the world. wink.gif
