I'm just so proud.
My six-year-old niece sat for about forty minutes on Nymbler the other day choosing names for her unborn sibling

Now I just have to work on her taste - most of them were traditional names that were misspelt

Very cute - now Auntie Robbie needs to teach her the naming rules!

Hehe! Lessons will begin immediately

At one point I heard her laughing hysterically, and I entered the room to ask what she'd found. She just about fell off her chair laughing before pointing to the name "Zed" on the screen and saying, "That's not a NAME, it's a LETTER! Who calls their baby a letter??" She didn't come down from that one for about five minutes or so. She kept trying to regain her composure but giggles kept busting out

So funny!

I have a 6 year old name nerd. She tends to like the more traditional names, a bit like me.
There is a boy in her class called Chase, she said to me, "Mum, Chase isn't a proper name, is it?"

We recently bought our 2 year old a baby doll. We asked what her name was and she replied... 'uurrggghhhh' (It was the sound when you push out a poo, that was closest spelling I could think of).

She is still sure that is the babies name.

My 2 year old has twin dolls that talk to one another. She has named the boy Basil. I went through about 50 more traditional names and she kept saying "No Mummy!"
Then I said Basil as a joke and she LOVED it and said yes right away!
The girl doll does not have a name other than "Baby."

My 2 yr old DD has one doll called 'Buggy' and another called 'Pomas" (like Thomas with a P). She named them herself. I have no idea where she got the names from....

I still have my doll I got when my sister was born......definately a girl doll, but I called her 'Sally James'
Apparantly if a "girl wants to be called James as a middle name she can" was my response to most questions!

Liz - the girl should be Rosemary

That is what DH said. But Rosemary is still on our list of names for this baby!
