LOL Jane. There's no way I could be cursed with twins again........well, at least they couldn't be any worse than what the girls were. cool.gifo:

Cheers Jussy

Oh I am soooooo pleased you've posted this!!!

After waiting with baited breath from the very early weeks until Nee had her gorgeous girl the idea of having another has gone from 'oh my god no' to 'maybe in a year or two' to 'I would do it tomorrow except we agreed to wait'!

So if everything goes to plan we are planning on TTC mid/late 2006 so a third little booger sometime in 2007. The girls will be three by then (and three corrected as well as actual which I think will be important for us) and hopefully be able to go into booster seats as we can't fit a third car seat in our car. Plus with luck we will only be a year or so off affording our renovations so only 18 months or so of sharing our room with baby (which is what we've done with the girls anyway).

See I have it all planned out.... which is always a bad sign! You'd think after last time when every single one of my plans fell to pieces (including the plan to only have ONE BABY!) I'd have learnt that these things can't be planned! But heck half the fun is in the dreaming and planning!

Anyway what a ramble... lucky for you guys we move this week and I am internet free from tonight until we organise a new connection at the new house in over a months time... so you won't be bored to tears by my rambles so often any more!

Anyway... how exciting Juz, I'll join you in the planning and dreaming for sure!

Kate

Justine would you believe they were my words too when we decided to ttc again........."there's no way it would be twins again - the first time was just a fluke!" cool.gifo: :gasp:

I say that too Juz - even if by some wild fluke we did have twins again it couldn't possible be as bad as the girls!

I figure that since there is a one in 70,000 chance of us having twins again (figures vary depending on what you read but that seems the most recent stats for Australia) that if we did have another set of MZ twins well it would just be fate and you can't argue with that! Plus the liklihood of me having two sets of MZ twins with TTTS is sooooooo rare I figure I am pretty safe saying it can't be worse than the girls! wink.gif

I am fairly sure that Justine is in the same position as her girls are MZ twins as well (correct me if I'm wrong)... so not much chance of either of us having twins again! But hey you never know!

Kate

MiriamT
Ohh! I'd so love another..... but I know it's just not going to happen!

DH wanted two children and I wanted at least three kiddies - and he said to me that the only way I'd get three is if I had twins. Hmm! What a lovely jinx that was!

Cheers!

At this very moment there's no way I could imagine having another baby, but ask me again in a year! ;p

I guess you can never say never, although my biological clock is tick, tick, ticking away!! Tounge1.gif

Quietly putting my hand up, in case anyone in my family is looking..... Tounge1.gif We'd love another baby, but first we need to buy a house, and I need to finish my PhD. So, realistically, we're looking at ttc in mid to late 2007 at this stage, although I'm really not sure if I can wait that long.................... LOL.

Like others here, we need to be prepared for twins again, so it's a pretty big decision. I'd love one more, but really not sure about two. I just think of you when I get clucky Jane Mc!!

hi!

ok i admit it my DP and i have decided that we would like another one when the boys are about 4 or so, so in 2009 - that is if we can wait that long!! i already look at new borns and think they are so tiny now compared to my two big boys.. and they are only 9 weeks old!! We would love to have a girl but if we were blessed with another boy then that would be it.. unless we were lucky and got twins again!

I STILL cant figure out how to put a pic in my sig. so not sure if I should even think about having more!!! We are getting married in August and constantly change our mind about having more. So we decided last Sept that if when this September comes round and we still want to have another baby/babies then well try again. That way Amber & Livi would be 3 when new set arrives.

Petrified at the thought of having twins again(hats off to you jane Mc). The 1st set weren't planned(a little too much red wine on my part whilst on a night out with the girls). So we have a 1 in 4 chance of having twins again. If I was certain we'd only have one then i'd go ahead.

It's such a what if question.... I was so clucky after I had the girls because I managed pretty well after the birth and first few months that I though I could do this all again. Must have been those hormones talking!!!

DP really wants a Honda Odyssey but I dont see the point with only 2 kids so stay tuned...

Wow! Good on you all!

My answer - no way! In fact, DH is going for the snip (as soon as he gets round to it!). Not that there's much chance of a "mistake", IYKWIM. (My doctor asked me what we were using for contraception - I said "twins" LOL).
;p

Hope all your dreams for new (singleton!) babies come true.

Yep, I'm putting my hand up wink.gif Don't know when it will happen yet, it took me about 18 months of ttc before I had the girls, so it's something that could take a while.

But yes I want to have another baby. Everyone has been hounding me with this question since the girls were 12 months, & then from 2 years it's been non-stop.

Only parents of twins really know how hard it can be with 2 toddlers, I couldn't cope with a newborn as well. Plus I have to get over my fear of having extreme morning sickness.

So the answer is yes, just don't know when original.gif

wow, so there's a few of you looking at having more kids - good on you!! don't let me scare you off LOL, having two sets of twins is hard work, especially at the moment with the age my boys are, but it's certainly "doable" - just make sure you are prepared for the possibility!!!
I admit, I was devastated when I first found out it would be twins again, really longed for that experience of just loving and nurturing one little body (maybe that's why I still have a niggling longing to have another baby - oops!!) but I know I will reap the rewards as I watch my babies grow up !!

good luck girls!!

Just had to say that you don't scare us off at all Jane... well you don't scare me off! Infact just the oppsite!

I see people like you and Nee enjoying your children while still being able to admit there are hard days but that you get by and love them just the same and I think that you are such inspirations! If you guys can cope then I could certainly cope if I was lucky enough to have twins again... well I hope I could cope half as well as you do! Not that it's likley... but still! wink.gif

So pleased that some of you are considering another baby, or 2!!! original.gif

I'm pretty sure that if you have fraternal twins for your 1st pregnancy that your chance of conceiving frat twins for your 2nd are higher than if you have a singleton for your first pregnancy. That's what I've read anyway. Make sense??

Katef, my girls are fraternal, I don't know if that's MZ or not??? I just know them as fraternal. original.gif Glad to hear you'll be joining me on the TTC road.

Miriam, never say never. I was adamant that DH get the snip 3 months after the girls were born and look at us now....

Megan, great to hear you're joining us too. original.gif

Jaydee, welcome to you too. original.gif

Rachel, OMG you're keen. Wait until Aidan & Keenan are a bit older & I bet you'll change your mind. Tounge1.gif That's why we're waiting until the girls are at school.

Maycee, party pooper. Tounge1.gif

Bec, don't drink any wine this time. Tounge1.gif We've just bought a 2004 Hyundai Trajet & it's beautiful. Here's a pic too.

Thanks again for your replies ladies. Maybe we should start a TTC soon thread??? What do you think??

Hi Ladies,

We always said 2 kids but never planned twins into that equation! Pretty much straight after I had the boys I knew I wasn't finished. Anyway, going to be pretty hard TTC3 if I can't convince DH! He says the boys are enough. So, if I get my way, hopefully 2007 will be the baby year also! Looking like a good year. But upon saying that, my boys aren't walking yet so I may change my mind...But would so love a little girl!

Justine, Congrats on the new car, looks lovely and practical LOL! From the stats I know, odds are 1:4 (25%) of a second set of fraternal twins if you have already had a set!

Jane I think when you have twins we have that longing as you said for just one baby. At least you got a little girl for those boys to look after! I'm sure you are doing a great job with your 2 sets of twins!

Anyway... Any ideas to convince DH?

Here's a bit of a wraning girls, we were using the "twins as contraception method" and fell pg again cool.gifo:
The boys would have been just 2 when Matilda arrived. Sadly we lost her to a molar pregnancy. I was very upset when we first fould out we were pg but had really gotten used to the idea. So now I have to fess up that I am thniking in the back of my mind...way way back...that there may be a chance of another in future.

Like Jane Mc I was looking forward to number 3 being my last single baby and really enjoying that when the boys came along and played havoc with those plans.

I think my head will eventually overrule and say no but you never know?!?!?!

hi there
I would love to try again at the end of this year if possible for twins again and i know that i have a high chance of making this happen and the first two was IVF(ISIC) 4th try and last ditch effort and we were sucessful so for us to try again is wonderful and if we fall was twins again we are double blessing.
WE both would like more children
But we need a bigger car so any suggestions ?

DH and I wanted to complete our family this year and we got another bonus baby LOL

JaneMc...I have been feeling the way you mentioned. I was looking forward to a singleton and was a little overwhelmed when we saw 2 on the scan.

But heck, anything is "doable" right LOL

Ok Jussy - time for me to fess up!

I am never ever ever having another bub (or 2!!!!) In fact dh is booked in for the big snip!

BUT

we are going to adopt number 4 baby from China!!!!

Hopefully by this time next year our family will be complete with Brooklyn who will be 7, Ethan and Asher who will be 4, and our little asian bub who will be between 8 months to 12 months old!!

Dh looked through the special needs adoption brochure for NSW, and there were TWO sets of special needs twin boys up for adoption, I had to do some very very quick talking to stop him ringing up and expressing interest!!

We are going to get a Kia Carnival when we get our new baby - we nearly got one a couple of months ago when our discovery did its head gasket, $3000 later all our saving had gone into it, so the process of saving for it has restarted.

Your car looks flash tho Justine!

Nee, I was so pleased to re-enter the boards to see you had a new baby too, congratulations on number 4!

Hat off continually to the legend we know as JaneMc with her 2 sets of twins!

(Janelle3)

Janelle
Hoping to adopt an Asian treasure soon
JaneMc
Kate - thank you for your kind words !! I'm sure you are a fabulous mum & would cope easily with another set of twins - in fact I think we all would !!

Nee - it must be so satisfying to know you are done. I will get there eventually!! LOL!! I tell people I'm keeping the spare seats in our tarago so we can seperate the kids!! Not sure what I'm going to do when their arms get longer and they can reach across the seats how is Aimee going? Do the other kids try to "help" you all the time? LOL - J & R are always "helping" me , drives me NUTS

Justine - I love your car! looks great! and you are right about the stats, & mummalovin & I have proven it right!!(I hear you breathing a huge sigh of relief hehehe original.gif )

Rhonda - thanks ! I had the same problem as you - trying to convince DH to have another baby. He originally only wanted 1 :gasp: (boy did he get more than he bargained for ;p ) He was very hard to convince - I swore that twins the first time was just a fluke and wouldn't happen again (oops!!) and basically told him I would be unhappy for the rest of my life if I didn't have another baby (how much of a drama queen am I!! blush.gif ). My last resort was to withdraw you know what (I really wanted another baby!!) but it didn't come to that wink.gif. Really though, I just made him understand how I felt emotionally & that unexplainible biological physical urge we get to have a baby. Eventually it worked !!

Letita - so sorry to hear what happened! What a roller coaster you must have been on during that time. It's very hard to let your head rule when it comes to something so emotional as having a baby - good luck!! original.gif

Rosie - good luck with your mission on having twins again!you're a brave woman, I hope it works out for you!
We have a tarago & it is fantastic - we liked it because there is decent room in the boot - some of the people movers we looked at were a bit stingy when it came to boot space.

Mummalovin congratulations !! My boys were 2 years and 9 months old when Ella & Liam were born & I can see your first twins will be a little bit older when your next set are due, but not much !! If you ever want to chat about how you make things "doable" hehehe wink.gif pm me any time!! Hope the pg goes smoothly for you ..... original.gif

Janelle you made me blush blush.gif LOL !! I think for my next car I want a Kia Carnival - anyone I know who has one thinks they are fantastic & they look so good too!!Looking forward to hearing all about your next family addition original.gif

Eck cool.gifo: I'm another who has been using twins as a contraceptive, hey what else is bed for other than a resting place inbetween trips to screaming children? But after reading this thread i'm off to the Dr's to get something a little more reliable, 1 in 4 chances of twins again makes me go deathly pale. When the girls were first born I told everyone i'd love another child I even dreamed of another set of twins maybe boys this time, but now they are crawling/teething/into everything noooooo thanks!

I do feel the pull to have another child i loved being pregnant and would love to experience being pregnant with just one child but i'm sure running around after my two would soon take the rosey glow off pregnancy.

So not fessing up but maybe some time in the future, when i've won lotto and DH can finish work and look after the girls while I concentrate on cooking another wink.gif

I will put my hand up too. I just have to lose some weight and get the finances a little healthier. So maybe later this year we can start.

I am very interested in the Honda Odyssey for our next car. I wonder if that means anything? LOL. I'm already looking at prams (for three, not four) as you can see from my other thread.

Demon Deeva
Heh, I ummmmmm suppose I really ought to stick my head in and pop my little preggo hand up then oughtn't I???? Surprise!!!!!!

Yep we figured what's one more? Well it's a new car for starters, a rearrangement of the whole house, finishing up work after i've not long been back and well another bubbyboo to love and snuggle.

Oh yeah and as some people have oh so subtly told me, a chance to get it right and finally have a boy... some people also need a smack round the earhole though don't they?

So there you go Jussy!

**Corinne, Caragh and Ava are getting a new bubba!**

Look at us all putting our hand up for more babies. I think it's great that we haven't all been scared off!
