O.k we have only just decided to fit out car seats today. And have found that there is defiantly not a great deal of room in the back with two car seats. We will be able to manage whilst school is in but once school holidays come and Ebony joins us it's going to be near on impossible to go for family outings.. What sort of car do you have or recommend, for those with a larger family.. We currently have an AU Falcon...

Any suggestions greatly appreciated original.gif

Well we have a Tarago!!
We love it. To think I used to drive a little convertible when I was a newlywed without bubs... and now I drive a Tarago!!
We have three children and also take regular trips to Tassie on the Spirit of Tasmania and so we needed a car that could fit all of us and all our stuff; plus it's been great as it fits other people in for outings too.
Good luck!

We've currently got a Holden Stnwg but are trading it in for a 2004 Hyundai Trajet which is very roomy. Go to www.hyundai.com.au to check it out. original.gif

[color=Blue]We've got a Chrysler Voyager and it's fabulous! It's a 7 seater, but we take the back bench seat out so that I can wheel the pram straight into the back of the car without collapsing it! But, it's very easy to just pop the back seat back in when we need it. The new model is even better as you don't have to remove the seat, it just folds down into the floor!

I've been looking at other "people movers" as I need to update my car before it gets too many kms on the clock. There's a few out there, but it's just a matter of what's going to suit you. The Mazda MPV is quite good too, and a fair bit cheaper than the Chrysler. It has seats that you can change the configuration of as well, which is very handy.

We also looked at the Honda Odyssey, but found it's probably not that good for us at the moment as the double pram just barely fits in the back. But, it could be an option when we no longer need a pram.

I would be interested to see what the other girls and guys views are on cars, especially as we're in the market to update.

Hi there,

We are currently driving a Holden Zafira which we just love! It's a 7 seater also and has seats that fold down into the floor when we aren't using them. We found we have plenty of space with the double stroller and shopping all in the back.
The kids have enough room in the back that they all sit across the middle seat just fine, it's definitely much spacier than the Holden Astra City we had for the first 6 months that we had the twins!

Cheers,

Jo

Hi everyone,
We have ordered a new Honda Odyssey. The back seats fold flat into the store and the boot is huge then. We took the Honda CRV, Subaru Liberty, the new mitsubishi, RAV 4, Land Cruiser, Prado, Voyager and liked the odyssey to be our choice. One thing I found to be a problem in a few of the cars is once you have the baby seats in, the driver and passenger seats have to be real far forward making it ver uncomfortable.

Scott

Thanks for your replies we are looking into a few that you's have all mentioned...

SCOTT ~ I know exactly what you mean about the passenger seat been pushed right forward.

D/H wanted to do a test drive around the block with Savannah in the back (11yrs old and quite tall) i nearly had my knees up around my neck (what a sight)*LOL* and with Ebony being nearly as tall as me she would be in the same position as i was in ... Definalty looking into a bigger car now.. original.gif
