Hi everyone

I will be going back to work part time in a few months and I need to find child care 2 days a week for my DD who will be around 17 months. I work in Woden but will be coming in from outside Canberra (north). All the Woden child care centres seem to be booked out so I'm happy to drop DD off in Belco or Gungahlin on the way if I find a great childcare option (either centre or family childcare). Does anyone have any recommendations?

We used the YMCA in Belconnen before I had to move to Woden for work and put DS in the Early Childhood Centre here.

The YMCA were really good when I started, let me come in and do heaps of orientation with my baby. I was going up at lunch time to feed and felt comfortable doing that. All the staff were friendly and there were even a few male carers.

My friend can't rave enough about Baringa at the back of Spence. I visited once and it was really nice too. I put our name down as well.

But I think you will find there are still waiting lists for these areas too. You just have to go visit, put your name down and ring, ring, ring. I also found I was offered places before I actually needed them, but had to take it or miss out.
