Hi all

I am currently 28wks pg with identical twin girls. During the last week I have been diagnosed with anaemia, gestational diabetes, and vasa previa. I have just been reading through the gestation thread and it gives me a lot of encouragement that so many of you got as far as you did.

My fear is that I will have another PROM (my son was born at 31.3wks after 2 x tpl and then finally PROM). I have already had 2 x tpl this pg. Also reading your threads a few of you had your waters break naturally, this is the issue for us if my waters break with the vasa previa it can rupture and I am at risk of bleeding out as are the babies.

I am trying to focus on the positives but it is increasingly becoming difficult to do this. I have already been on modified bed rest for 5 weeks and and now on bedrest at home basically until the babies come.

Any words of encouragement or stories or anyone who has experienced vasa previa would be great.

Thanks for listening

Gosh catherine-with a condition as serious as this I would have thought you would have been admitted to hospital for close monitoring and emergency theatre access by now.

Good luck

That is what my mum thinks also. But the ob seems to think that at this stage my cervix is hanging in there and my membranes look nice and even so just lots of monitoring.

Thanks to everyone's welcome.

Hi Catherine, hope you are feeling well. I hope you can rest and take it easy for the rest of your pregnancy. I was very healthy but didn't do much at all in the final trimester. Just watched a lot of TV and thought about my babies! But I can imagine it must be a lot harder for you as you have a three year old to look after. Hope you have a great support group who are looking after you, you are doing a great job and keep focussed on the positives. Take care,
Maycee
