Hi All

Just another quick question.

I am in my 11th week of my triplet preg & last night jumped on the scales only to see that despite what I thought was my good eating, I have gained nothing.

I have a triplet book which has said that I should have gained 8kg approx by the 12 wk mark & 30 kg for the entire preg.

I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Is this normal? I am eating & eating & eating, but nothing!!!

I am curious as to how quickly other women with multiple pregnancies gained weight! & whether it is practical to gain this sort of weight in the duration of the preg.

Thanks again everyone

Cheers, Lilymurray

hi lilymurray

Even though i had twins (so you will no doubt be a bit different) i had outgrown most of my clothes by week 10 and yet when i went to the obstetrician i was the same weight but 2 dress sizes bigger!! By week 20 i had only put on about 4kg but was already in all maternity clothes and most people thought i had only a few weeks to go! I put on 20kg all up and now my boys are 6 weeks old and i am only 2kg above my pre-preg weight and i have been watching what i have been eating - but not too much!! Don't worry about not putting on much weight yet, i am sure your ob will monitor you and will tell you if there is anything to worry about. My ob kept telling me it was fine as my belly was growing quite well and my boys were both almost 7 pounds, so initially the scales are not the big concern.

Good luck with your pregnancy!

Hi,
I'm expecting twins, but I didn't put any weight on until maybe week 14. I am now almost 31 weeks and I have only put on 8 kilos. The ob isn't worried though as the babies are growing very well. As long as you are eating well don't worry too much about the weight.

Hi there: Up to date (31wks) i have gained 3kilos but have lost them i am back to my pre-pregnancy weight. Ob said weight gain depends on your build and because i am a medium built person my body can survive on what weight i have. He said smaller framed people usually gain more weight. Dont quote me on this, is all i have been told. wink.gif
Hope all is well with your three bundles of love original.gif

Hi I put on 17.5 kilos with my twins. Lost around 6 in the beginning due to severe morning sickness so took a while for the weight to pile up. Once i stopped throwing up around 21 weeks I had fairly steady weight gains. Only my boobs got big early on. I still wore size 10 hipster jeans a few weeks before the girls were born but I was 16DD up top(no shortage of milk!!)

Since i've had the girls I have found it really hard to keep any weight on. Eat anything and still weigh 5 kilos less than when I fell pregnant.

It really varies depending on the person. My sister is 35 weeks pregnant with one baby and she has gained more than I did yet she also had severe morning sickness.

Glad to hear that you and the bubs are ok though...

Cheers Rebecca

I put on a total of 7kg witht he boys. They weighed in at 6kg between them and I had 2 placentas on top of that!

I even had a 6wk period during the pregnancy where I didn't put anything on but in the last couple of weeks I was putting on 1kg a week even though I wasn't eating much (the boys were LOL). They wer born at 35wks.

Good luck

[color=Teal]I put on a total of 16kg with my pregnancy. And, I weighed in at around 73kg before I fell pregnant, and weight 67kg the day I got home from the hospital after having the boys! Unfortunately I'm back up to 73kg, but it was nice while it lasted! ;p
