Hi everyone,
Just wondering when all you mums felt movement in your bellies from the babies? DW is now a little over 20 weeks and has not really felt anything yet. Looking on the singles board, some of the mums have felt movement from 17 weeks?? Are twins a little slower in this department or is this another case by case scenario?
No concerned, just excited about feeling movement in DW belly.
Kind regards,
Scott

Hi scott,
I hope your wife is well.
I felt movement in my belly around 20weeks. I wasn't even sure if it was them or just muscle spasms. lol. 17weeks is quite early to feel movement. Usually I think most movement is felt between 19 - 23weeks. It all depends on the bubs really. At this stage they are starting to develop their muscles so they can move around more. what a wonderful DH you are to be on this site looking for info.
Goodluck to both of you

Hi Scott!
You are such a sweetie. I get jealous when I read all your posts. I wish my hubby was like you!
Re movements. I think it is very much an individual thing. I have read that movement can be felt anywhere from 17 to 24 weeks. Apparently it varies per mum and also per pregnancy. Some have said that they feel it more and earlier in their subsequent pregnancies. Some women that have their placenta at the front don't feel much at all and I know of someone that felt almost nothing the entire time - she has a very placid baby now too!
I bet you can't wait to feel movement! I thought that I felt something at about 17 1/2 - 18 weeks and felt real flutters at 20 weeks and beyond. Now they move all the time, but every time DH goes to feel with his hand they stop - of course! One morning they were really active and I cuddled DH's back and they were kicking his back! He thought that was great and kept saying "ow" as though they were hurting him, very cute!
All the best to you and your DW!

I'm 19 weeks with twins & have only just started to feel some movement (I think or hope - its my first pregnancy). It was very faint at first but this week it is getting stronger & more frequent. I've got my 18-20 week scan next week and am very anxious to see my little babies!

Hi Scott ~ I agree that this is an individual issue and some poeple are just a little more senstive than others. I too was about 18.5 - 19 weeks when I started to get the real thumps.....Phil and Ebony could feel them from about 21 weeks onwards. Phil said there is nothing like going to bed and feeling them kick you in the back - very nice moment for the dad's to be.
Tell DW not to stress as I am sure you arent - once it starts it really doesnt ever stop!! LOL, hiccups, kicks, rolls, punches and general whole body turnovers.
Glad that all is going well for you both ~ Enjoy this very special time. I have had a wonderful pregnancy and I wont be pregnant for much longer...I will miss these special "inside me" moments, but am sure I will get so many more when they are here....

Hi!
We didn't feel movement until fairly late in the game.. around 23 weeks from memory. I did worry a bit and asked our OB and he said it wasn't a problem at all, just frustrating! Mind you from that first time I felt something I was sure of what it was, it was very definite, and from then on in they barely stopped moving right up until the second they were born! Everyone in theatre enjoyed telling me during our c-section that they could see them both moving as they swabbed my stomach with the iodine!
Hope that helps as I remember being so impatient to feel something, anything, that when it first happened I was sure I was dreaming!
hugs
Kate

Hi Ladies,
Great to read your replies.
Kelly: DW had her 19 week scan a few weeks ago and it was fantastic!! Our sonographer (if that is what you call them) was really good. The twins were literally piggy backing each other and found it challenging to do the scan. She told us what everything was and reassured us that everything appeared to be fine. All the best with your scan.
katef: Our little ones appear to be like your ones. Just keen to feel some movement!!
Drew: Certainly can't wait alright!! Looking forward to being kicked in the back.
Kind regards,
Scott:)

Hi ScottK

...you are going to be such a great dad!!!! I second what everyone else has said so far...it varies so much from person to person. I felt movement very early in both my pgs. But my Ob said it had alot to do with my body size and the position of the babies. I had alot of wriggling early on and then as they got more and more squished, and one baby up and one down, the movement was less and less energetic...it felt more like a water ballet session going on than say a football match! At night when they were moving I would snuggle extra close to my DH so he got kicked too!
