Hi everyone, just thought I'd introduce myself. I joined up a while ago but hadn't got around to posting anything, been too busy reading everyone else's!

Anyway, I'm 24, live in Brissy, have twin girls due 30th April 2005 and will be a single mum.

Things are pretty uncomfortable being 33 weeks pregnant!! This is my first pregnancy too, so maybe that's a good thing - I don't know any different original.gif Have to tell you I'm loving the stretch marks though! My poor little body shall never be the same, my bikini's will probably never see the light of day again! I suppose thats the least of my worries from here on in though lol

Any tips from other single mum's that have had twins would be great, but I'm open to any sort of advice or handy hints really, I'm not fussy in that respect!! The main thing I've found talking to a lot of people is to accept any help offered and get into a good routine if possible. Both of which I'll definitely be trying to do! My sister is coming to live with me for the first few weeks, my mum and dad will be around a lot and my grandparents are coming up from NSW early April to be here ready for the girls arrival. So hopefully things go well, I am worried about how I will manage 2 babies though!!

But it's all just sooo exciting, I'm ready for them to come out now, but I have a feeling they are going to hang around inside me for as long as possible!! These last few weeks are going to drag on forever I just know it original.gif

Welcome Brizzygirl24! CONGRATULATIONS
I am new to EB also, and wanted to say that I think you are doing an amazing thing single parenting twins wink.gif Its sounds as though you have a great support network there for you in your family. I am sure that will be a great help! I am so thankful to have both our families here.
I dont really have any advice as this is my 1st pregnancy also, and just like you I am Readyto meet our little suprises!
Advice we were given was the same ~ accept any help offered (even if its just to hang out the washing), get as much sleep and rest now, try to find a routine that works for you, and to enjoy them!
** Is there a Multiple Birth Group in your area? I know the one here although small provides great support and you would find the personal contact and support an advantage - worth a look (or check with your Ob/Midwife)

Are your girls identical or non-identical?

Hope to get to know you in the next couple of weeks!(before our lives really change) I know I don't have long to go and its actually going quiet fast now - our babies will be here before we know it! Its so exciting...

I have also joined the Due in April forum - they are great and there are babies being born everywhere! pop in and introduce yourself there too.
I have found this site fantastic and so very informative ~ There is fantastic advice etc here! original.gif

Hi Brizzygirl & welcome to EB.
Not long until you meet your girls, very exciting!
It sounds like you are doing everything right in terms of having a great support network organised. I agree that getting into a routine (if possible!) is good. We were lucky that Isabel and Jessica were already on a good routine from the Special Care Nursery when they left the hospital and we have just been following that when we got home.
I don't really have any earth-shattering advice at the moment (being such a newbie as a mother of twins, I am sure there are much more experienced people out there who have lots of words of wisdom!), but enjoy the special gift you have been given as much as you can, even when they scream at 3am. Also, nap at every opportunity and don't worry if your house is a pig-sty - you and the girls are much more important!
