Hi all

Wizzlet- That's lovely that hubby is so supportive of you during your calmbirth class. Sounds like it's going to be a positive experience for you.

Well I think things may be thinking about starting (I really don't want to jinx it!). I've had quite a few crampy pains today- not a whole lot of regularity yet and I've also had some pink tinged fluid leaking so hopefully in the next day or so it's all systems go (sooner would be good too!).

Edited to add- Oh... and Gold! First time I've been in here to claim for ages. Maybe it's a sign!

Bronze - LenaK you beat me by minutes!!!!

Binxi good luck - sounds promising biggrin.gif bbabyflip.gif

Wizzlet that was really informative, thanks for posting that! Sounds like you have a great DH there, and I'm so pleased Maddie started moving to reassure you. Are you watching lots of dvds and reading all the trashy mags to make the most of bed rest?
Wizzlet
Bronze!

Binxi - will be stalking!

Posted at the same time as Purple! So maybe I have the boobs!

I have moved between our bed and the couch... I slept a lot this morning... I am not doing a whole lot really! I am actually going through all our expenses at the moment and amending our budget, seeing as DH will now have to cover the whole lot!!!!
~lils~
Wizzlet - thanks for the review on the calmbirth course, sounds like you got a lot out of it! And that you have a wonderful DH, its so nice he's so supportive nad encouraging. Hope you are taking it easy and not going too stir crazy at home...

Binxi - ooh!! sounds promising. Looks like we might have a trifecta on our hands!

purple_daisy - glad to hear you are feeling a bit better and it sounds like that bug has passed.

AFM, my heartburn has kicked up a notch massively. I've been chewing on tablets when needed which help but its still not fun.
Charley+James' mum
Hi all.

I had my extra scan today and am stil in the dark about it all. The person doing the scan said she couldn't tell us if our baby has SUA or not as she wil have to compare what she saw herself and look back at the picture she took and my doctor wil have results within 24 hours. I am guessing that if it looked ok then she would of at least hinted at that but she didn't. She kinda gave us some Info but held back a fair bit. So I am guessing not good. BUT one of the first thing she said when she walked in was "y are u having this looked at so early this type of thing isn't really looked at til 20 weeks"

Basically I am just really worried and so is DP and we don't really know what to do. I know at least if there is a problem we have caught it early, not that there is anything they can do but I guess it gives us time to think but on the other hand if they have just started looking too early than this could be worry for nothing.

On a brighter note at little one has grown 2cm in a week and a half to 7.63cm and was happy sucking it's thumb.
J3NN1
Hi girls,

Sorry just a quick one from me before I rush off to work....

Rachberry CONGRATULATIONS on the birth of your little girl Lillian.

Binxi - sounds like your next!!!

Wizzlet - Thanks for the info on the Calm birth course....it does sound really good. Something I would like to look into when I get to that stage.

WBMA - Your doing the right thing getting it looked at again. I know you must be really stressed, but know that you do have a healthy little bub in there and he/she is growing and doing all the right things so this is all good news.

AFM - AF has finished and I have just booked myself in for my HSG. The lady on the phone said that they have to do it between CD 5-7!! I was like, well Im CD 6 now so how is tomorrow?? Lucky they had an appointment. So I will be working until 1.30pm and then just have to wait around until 3pm. Im getting it done at work. I really hope it doesn't hurt too much. Must remember to take some Nurofen an hour before the test. Wish me Luck!!
Wizzlet
Jen hands.gif We need a fingers crossed icon!

Lils - try sucking on fruit tingles! I swear by them (and they taste way better than the antacid poison!).
LETMEBE
oh Wizzlet - you had me at 'you have fallen in love with your husband again' - oh made me teary! sounds like it was a fantastic course you have certainly sold it to me!!

Binxi - good luck!!! Hope it all happens quickly, smoothly and pain free!! with a perfect little baby at the end!

Jenni - great you could get in so quickly! Good lucks, I didn't find it hurt me - hope it goes ok for you!

WBMA - how frustrating it must be, hopefully, like you said, it is a good sign.

lils - you poor thing, heart burn is unpleasant, though the fruit tingles suggestion sounds a lot nicer... though must admit I don't mind the Rennie tablets.

Lena - hi!

AFM - well, I've officially been TTC for 12 months..., what a milestone sad.gif Rose - maybe we need a new subsection of the list, for TTC 12 months plus. Oh well, CD 1 today, I will start my ovulation tracking next Monday. Seriously sucks, and to top it off someone at work just announced they are pregnanet again today after returning from maternity leave 6 weeks ago... and she's like, oh I don't know how it happened, was a little surprise rant.gif rant.gif rant.gif

Hi girls,

Wizzlet, what a beautiful story about your calmbirh experience! So good to hear that your hubby is so supportive and all excited for the birh! We also decided to go ahead with the course and although $450 seems a lot of money, reading your experience (and of those who shared it before) it realy seems worth it! I am really looking forward to it now but I Have to wait a few more weeks!

Binxi, that sound promising! I'll be ph34r.gif for some news the next couple of days! Would be good to have a third baby added to this group in such short time!

Purple daisy, looks like you past your cold on to me tongue.gif Good to hear you are feeling better though!

Lils, sorry to hear about your heartburn! Hopefully it will ease quickly!

WBMA, sorry to hear you still don't have any clear answers. Hopefully you get them tomorrow! But the fact that your bub is sitting happily inside you must be a good sign!

Jenni, good luck tomorrow! Good that she good fit you in on such short notice!

Letmebe, sorry to hear AF showed up, I really hoped it was your month this month! And having someone at work being pregnant again so short after her previous one does not help, does it. But your are going to get some help from now on so stay as positive as possible because you will be pregnant before you know it!

AFM Yesterday I hit the 19 weeks mark, almost half way! I really can't believe how fast it all goes. Bubs is getting very active and I can heel him/her very often now and I really love it wub.gif Last night DH also felt a kick and was so amazed by it! I really loved it how he looked after he felt that little kick! wub.gif
My bump has grown too and at the other day at the shops I had two comments on what a nice bump I have! We have to make some pics as we forgot last week too so I'll post some soon!
Sorry but not sure who asked but we are not going to find out the sex next week, although I think I will have a hard time not asking for it! I am getting very curious about it!
Peaches'n'Cream
Hi BB gals

Binxi I'm stalking for updates!!!!

J3nn1 sending you all the luck in the world lovely. I hope it doesn't hurt you and that you get some luck after the whole process. They say it's a good chance. Crossing everything for you this month.

Lils aarrgh heartburn is horrid I was lucky and only got it a couple of times so far but it is really nasty mine lasted a looong time and nothing worked. I hope you have some good remedies and it eases up soon.

LetMeBe I don't have any words that will make it any better but I really wanted to give you some huge cyber hugs. It must have been really painful standing there and hearing about your work friend you are a strong woman I tell you. Lots of baby dust to you lovely.

Wizzlet thanks for the breakdown on what you thought of Calmbirthing that's fantastic that your DH has taken it all in and that you know you will work well together in the delivery suite when the time comes. After antenatal classes I can see it all sinking in to FH's beautiful brain and he is also taking it very seriously so I feel very lucky to have him by my side too. We are also going to a Doula and taking a big class from her in the next few weeks and I think that will be really helpful too.

Star awwwww about your DH feeling his first kick. It's so sweet.

Hello to anyone else I missed waves.gif

AFM- Well second antenatal class went really well original.gif. We got to have a go at the Tens machine to see if we were interested and I think I might take the extra class just in case I decide that I want to use it in labour. I will use anything to help me get distracted from contractions!! It looks pretty easy to use but it is compulsory to go to the class before you can hire it.
I'm 31weeks today!!! Eeeek yyes.gif ffear.gif ffear.gif yyes.gif 9 weeks left!! All of a sudden I feel like I am running out of time but also in amongst all those chaotic feelings I can't wait to get to the awesome bit...seeing that gorgeous lil face and finally getting to see if we have a boy or a girl lil Peach!! My next ultrasound this Friday at 11am and I cannot wait!! I want to see what our cheeky little Peach is up to and if he or she is head up or down original.gif. Also I'll be crossing my fingers and toes hoping that my cervix is still behaving.

Binxi wishing you all the best lovely!!! Hope to be hearing some news soon!!

Morning all

Binxi I am hoping/guessing that the lack of posts is because you are happily holding your new little bundle wub.gif Can't wait to hear!!

Lils heartburn is horrible, I feel your pain. I have found that a small ice cream hits the spot and I normally get relief for a couple of hours. My recommendations would be a mango weis bar or just a home brand milk ice. I might have to grab some fruit tingles to give them a go too! Hope it improves soon for you - I found I had a terrible patch around 22 weeks that then just stopped after a week, and now it is only occasional but increasing.

Letmebe and J3NN1 I hope the ovulation tracking and hcg procedure really help out this cycle. I'm so sorry that you have had to take the longer, harder road in the TTC journey. It doesn't seem fair that some women have to struggle and others don't. bbighug.gif

Wizzlet are you watching many movies? Want to give us reviews or recommend any nice recipes you find in magazines?

AFM like Peaches I had my second antenatal class last night and it was really good. It focussed on types of pain relief and included a tour of the delivery suite (with a viewing of a placenta - sick.gif ). Because the OB now thinks I will need to go into theatre to have Adelaide and the placenta delivered manually after this bub is born, I had a one to one chat with the midwife about what the anasthetic will mean for establishing breastfeeding and ways to mentally prepare myself for the possibility of going under a general within minutes of giving birth. While I got a bit teary, I found it useful and the midwife recommended I start trying to express from 37 weeks onwards so that if bub is not too reactive at first my DH can at least feed her while I'm in theatre.

Otherwise not too much to report - lots of aches and pains in my pelvis but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel getting closer biggrin.gif
MrsBrady
morning ladies

wizzlet - the calmbirthing course sounds great and i reallyl want to attend one myself...id love to try for a homebirth so it would really help out with that...do u get cds or anything like that to take with you?

j3nni - best of luck for the hcg today, was great that you could get in today and not have to wait until next cycle, i really hope it does the trick for u original.gif

letmebe - sorry about af arriving sad.gif i have my fingers crossed that the tracking will help and get a bfp from you soon!

rose & stella - hope you girls are going ok? baby dust to u

binix - hoping for some good news soon!

afm - as you can see i have just shortened my name lol looking like i will be moving out of the newly married section over to the 12+ section also but i dont feel like that atm cause last month was my first normal cycle, so i feel like im only really on my second month now if that makes sense? i got some opks and will try the smep...original.gif
*~*MagicHour*~*
Binxi - Here's hoping that you are well into labour or already holding your lil bundle in your arms original.gif Let us know when you get a chance!!

lils - Hope your heartburn eases and you've found some remedies to help you!! Feeling crappy sucks when your pregnant so I hope it passes soon for you!

Letmebe - I admire your strength and courage as you continue TTC. I hope that your tracking cycle works for you and it isn't long before you get your BFP!! bbighug.gif

PurpleDaisy - Good to hear that your antenatal class went well and that you were able to talk to the midwife about how to deal with your possible GA. I'm sure that you will have the best support and your DH will be there to help you out every step of the way!! Not long to go now original.gif

Peaches - Glad to hear your second antenatal class went well. Can't believe you only have 9 weeks left - time surely has flown!! Hope that your u/s on Friday goes well - make sure to update us (with pics too if you can biggrin.gif)

Star - 19 weeks - wow!! Nearly onto the downward slope lol Must be nice having a good-looking bump lol You will have to post some pics for us so we can admire it too biggrin.gif

WMBA - While it sucks that your scan didn't give you the news you wanted, I hope that perhaps it really is just too early to tell and that by your later scan (at 19/20 weeks) everything is looking normal!! bbighug.gif It's just so tough, I imagine, not quite knowing how things will turn out....but I hope that everything works out ok!

MrsBrady - I wondered who you were for a second there original.gif lol I hope that your BFP isn't too far off and that finally having a good cycle last month is a good sign!

bbighug.gif and waves.gif to everyone else!! Hope you are all doing well biggrin.gif

AFM - Not doing so well at the moment. The nausea has kicked in very badly and so I'm trying to eat every 1.5 - 2 hrs so that I don't feel too bad. I'm just so tired at the moment as well and I've also had constipation too sad.gif So all in all I'm not enjoying being pregnant right now.... How did/do you ladies deal with the nausea? I haven't actually been sick yet which is a plus, but the nausea is all day....from when I wake up until I go to sleep sad.gif

7 weeks tomorrow which is good but I'm really just waiting until I get to next Monday and have our scan. A part of me is still terrified that something bad will happen but fortunately my DH is being fantastic and keeps telling me that he is confident we have a lil baby growing in me and that there is nothing to worry about. So I am trying my best to believe that too!
Tara27
Magichour - When I was feeling nauseous I found that sucking on crystallized ginger really helped me. Also, ginger tea too. I know the nausea is tough, hang in there though hun. Mine stopped at 10 weeks so hopefully yours will go soon too. I was finding that I had to eat about every 2 hours too or I felt sick, man it was hard work planning food for the day and packing my lunch when you need to eat so frequently! And I hear you on the constipation, I experienced that for the first time on the weekend and it was excruciating!

Sorry for no other personals...I'm at work so better get back to it. I will come back in later and update you all on my scan that I had yesterday.

Also, ninja.gif for news on Binxi...hope we hear some good news from you soon!

Have a good day ladies
~lils~
MagicHour - sorry to hear the nausea is setting in for you, its not much fun even if it is for a good reason!! The only thing that worked for me was nibbling on dry biscuits (e.g. Premium) almost constantly, or at least at the first sign of feeling queasy. Different things seem to work for different people though - ginger was one of those things that made me sick.gif!! Wheras anything plain and salty would make me feel better.

Peaches - laughing2.gif at EB going crazy with your posts!! Glad to hear your antenatal classes are going well and are helpful!! And yay for being in single digits left!

Star - wub.gif for your DH feeling his first kick. Its such an amazing feeling.

Wizzlet - I'll have to try fruit tingles!! They would certainly taste better than the rennies…

Purple_daisy - I'm glad the midwives were really helpful for you, although I hope you can get some clarification from the Ob about what the plan actually is! For something like that, you want to be told the correct information well in advance.

MrsB - fingers crossed tht your second normal cycle is your last normal cyle for a while bbighug.gif

WBMA - Sorry the extra scan wasn’t much help, hope the doc can help clear it up and let you know the way ahead too. And how cute that your little bub was sucking its thumb!!!

J3NNI - hope the HSG went okay for you today and wasn’t too painful.

Letmebe - sorry to hear that you've made it to the 12 month mark sad.gif especially with the girl at work too - I imagine she would have known before she started back at work?? Hope that the ovulation tracking helps to pinpoint things for you and keeps things going so you can get that BFP real soon.

Binxi - hope you are cuddling up to your little girl right now!!

Thankfully the heartburn isnt quite as bad today but i think its still here to stay. I think my stomach must be somewhere in my chest! Sometimes I wish you could get a 3d model of your insides to figure out where everything is because it just doesnt feel right.

Also I sat down with DH alst night and explained to him my plan of attack for cloth nappies and ordered my first few so yay!! looking forward to playing with them. I've ordered some bamboo flats which im planning to use with terry flats for the first few months and a couple of OSFM pocket nappies to try them out. It was quite hard trying to explain all the terms to DH!! When you've been looking at something for a while you forget quite how many acronyms and jargon you have to learn.... biggrin.gif
Charley+James' mum
Well diagnosis is confirmed... Our baby has SUA (2vessels in cord instead of 3)

My doc has cleared some things up for me tho. Basically we can kinda rule out chromosomal diseases like down syndrome, trisomy 13 and trisomy 18 as my risk factors are really low and things are looking normal in the ultrasounds, ie shape of head etc. But of course that doesn't rule out kidney, heart or Esophagus. From what she said tho most can be found on ultrasounds from 20 weeks and can actually be repaired once baby is born.

Some of this has put my mind at ease but it hasn't as much for DP, he suffers from depression and anxiety so in his mind this is a lot worse than what it might be and he is even keeping "termination" in the back of his mind which worries me. I am pretty sure it will not come to that tho as everything else is going as plan. Baby is growing nicely and there is the right amount of amniotic fluid etc.

SmallT
Hi ladies,

Sorry it's been a while!

WBMA - I'm so sorry to hear about the SUA but at least those other major complications have been ruled out. I'm sorry your DP is taking it so hard too. hugs.

Magic - Ginger helps with nausea, until it gets really bad, then nothing works! Well it didn't for me, but everyone is different, some people swear by the sea sickness bands though if you're having a really bad time of it.

purple daisy - That must be so scary. I feel for you and your little baby survivor!

AFM, I had a panic attack over the weekend while I was very dehydrated and worried that baby wasn't around anymore. Went to my GP monday morning and he told me I was just freaking out, but he did go and find a doppler to check for the heartbeat and he found it and it was the first time I'd heard it and I was so happy!!!! Now I just have to wait out another 5wks and 2 days for my morphology scan. I'm dying to find out if I have blue or pink!!!

Hope everyone else is well.
Wizzlet
Hi girls,

I am copying my FB update, so apologies for those that have already read it:

Drum roll please.... My scan today revealed no signs of any new bleeding and no clotting. They couldn't actually see where I was bleeding from last week, but speculate that may have something to do with how Maddie was lying (bum on top of my cervix and she wouldn't move - she kept kicking the ultrasound probe). Hot sh*t Sonographer Man can't see why I might bleed again (not to say I won't have a new bleed), so this is good. I will get the full results next week when I go in for my appointment...

Magic - The fact that you are feeling so crappy is probably a good indication that everything is fine!! I am predicting a babygirl.gif for you!!! I won't lie to you, MS sucks... I was sick right up until about 15 weeks, got some respite for a few weeks, but then have had it on and off again since about 24 weeks... Its not the same kind like I had earlier on though. Early on it was all day every day, just constant seediness with the odd bouts of vomiting. Now I tend to wake up feeling sick straight away and need to eat. Usually once I have eaten I feel ok, but I still have to keep up the eating. I lived on jatz biscuits and ice cream... Weird, I know.

Purple - I can only imagine how scary the prospect of bringing your babies into the world is... Can I ask (please don't answer if you don't want to), is it likely that your care team will let you go into labour naturally or will you be induced? And how will they know that Adelaide won't be delivered first? It sounds like you are in safe hands though, which can only be reassuring this close to the end. Oh, and haven't really watched much of anything! Today after my scan I was at my girlfriend's house, lying on her couch watching her sort through baby clothes!

Letmebe - bbighug.gif I don't have anything to say that would really make it any better for you, but please know that I am thinking of you.

Peaches - Apparently doulas are awesome! I considered one but we ended up going with a student midwife under the follow through programme...

WBMA - bbighug.gif Honey, I hope you and your DP get all the support and information you need to deal with this little hiccup. On the bright side, that is great news that all other things are well with bub.

Lils - Welcome to the world of cloth nappies! My DH wasn't sure about it all to start with, but now he knows more about it all than I do!

MrsBrady - Yes, we got two cds, a booklet and a heap of other leaflets and information.

Still stalking for Binxi..............
pumpkinbum
Hi Ladies,

Yay for your great news Wizzlet

Sorry you are so unwell Magic - after what you have been through you deserve a lovely breezy pregnancy, but as others have said it can only be a good sign that all is normal. I do feel for you though - I have no idea what you ladies have had to put up with, I haven't even needed 1 day off work (and still going at 38 weeks).

SmallT - the next 5 weeks will fly by! Hope you don't experience any more panic attacks.

WBMA - bbighug.gif sounds as though you are in good hands but it may be worth getting a referal to someone for you and your DP to further chat to?

Good on you lils for your cloth efforts - I just got too confused and as I have been given what looks like a year's supply of disposables I do plan to have a go at some stage but am not exactly organised on that front.

Peaches - 9 weeks cclap.gif we really have come a long way from TTTC!

Purple - Your birth experience is going to be so sad and happy at the same time. You have shown such strength throughout and you are going to be such a brilliant mother to your lil girl. She will be so proud of you when she is older.

Looking forward to hearing from Binxi original.gif

AFM - Apparently only 2 weeks to go.... Still working and hope I still have next week to prepare our home for the arrival. I'm feeling pretty relaxed about the whole thing - although that may be as I have so much to do before hand so haven't really had time to fully think about it.... probably not the worst plan of attack for me anyway.

I have finally got around to uploading some photos - however it is the first time I've used photobucket so no idea if this link will work but here are a few pics. My DH proudly painted Nemo and Woody wub.gif

http://s1110.photobucket.com/albums/h444/pumpkinbum1/

Hope everyone is well xxxx

Pumpkinbum love the photos your DH is a great painter the pictures look great. I can't believe you only have 2 weeks to go.
mtilly
Hey Girls!

I'm such a slacker!! I read on facebook (& post!) but I'm hardly ever on here now. Zac keeps me busy and I suck at keeping up!

Wooohooo to new babies! It's girl city around here. Sooo exciting wub.gif

bbighug.gif to LETMEBE. You've been around since the beginning and I am always amazed at your strength. It must be tough hitting the 12month mark, I don't really have any words but I just wanted to say that I think of you and look out for your posts. I really hope it is your turn really soon.

Quick update on us...

We went to Tresillian to get some help with Zac. They identified that my milk supply was low & started me on medication, Zac has since started gaining weight and is doing so much better. He is now almost 10 weeks old and has just discovered how to use his hands to bat things. I have a video on facebook if you're on there. So cute!! He now sleeps from 7.30pm until almost midnight and then only wakes once more each night which I am really pleased with. He is such a joy now and although still hard work I'm not so sleep deprived so I can now enjoy him!

hugs to everyone one, belly rubs to those awaiting bubbas, pregnancy vibes to those TTC and tummy rasberries to all the babies!
J3NN1
Hey Guys,

Ok, ffear.gif OMG the HSG was the most painful thing I have every experienced!!! I even cried!!
Everyone was really lovely, though didn't stop me feeling like a big baby ddoh.gif . When the speculum went in, that was a little uncomfortable, like a pap smear, but when the catheter and balloon were inflated OMG....felt really strange and just painful...then it sort of stopped, and then started again when the dye went in. It stopped again as soon as they finished....now I just have a dull ache in my abdomen. The nurse said some people experience pain while others feel nothing, it really depends how sensitive your cervix is....I quess I have a sensitive one shrug.gif I can pick up the scan and report tomorrow, but the radiologist said it all looked pretty normal. Apparently my chances on conceiving this month are now increased....but if my problem is hormonal I don't think it would make much difference. I am so glad I went at work though, the procedure costs $296, with only $96 back from medicare, but they bulkbilled me, so I paid nothing. Thanks everyone who sent me their well wishes.

PurpleDaisy - I'm not sure if you are wanting a vaginal delivery in particular with your babies. But one way to avoid having to have a GA is to have both your girls via caesarean, that way you would only need the spinal. Of course I totally understand you wanting to deliver vaginally though. bbighug.gif

WBMA - what a difficult time for you ddown.gif ....it does sound like you and your DH might benefit speaking with someone, especially after the 19week scan. Sounds like bubs is doing alright. Hope things get better for you guys.

Lils - I love the idea of cloth nappies, especially when I see the prices of disposable and the amount of those you would need!!! But I don't like my chances of winning DH over on it. He hates the idea of changing a normal nappy, let alone one when you have to deal with the poo yourself!!! haha. We'll see..... wwhistle.gif

Pumpkinbum - the nursery looks awesome!! Love the colours! yyes.gif BUT I can't believe you are still working!!! Crazy woman, but your amazing!

Wizzlet - ddance.gif Yay for no more bleeding!!

Magichour - hope you start feeling better soon. bbighug.gif

Binxi - Any news on you?? ppinkstork.gif

Well think I might go play Sims Medieval, while DH makes me dinner tthumbs.gif
pumpkinbum
Jenn - that sounds bloody horrid! I hope you are rewarded with a bfp for it xx

Hi Mtilly! So nice to hear from you.

Thanks Rose DH appreciated your comments - he finds it hilarious that we have an EB language and is calling himself DH this evening.
StAr80
Jenni, poor girl, sorry to hear it was so painful! Fingers crossed it is nothing hormonal and you catch that little egg this month!

Pumpkibum, Just love your nursery. Where did you get that lovely alphabet from? I really like that one!

Mtilly, so good to hear your little one is finally doing so well! Enjoy!

SmallT, amazing sound isn't it! Good to hear bubs is doing great! Take care of yourself hun! And so exciting you are going to find out what you are having in 5 weeks!

WBMA, sorry to hear the news of having SUA. Hopefully with your 20 weeks scan it turns out bus is totally fine! But I am sure he/she will be as the rest sounds all good!

lils, I decided to have a good look into cloth nappies as well but have no idea where to start! So much information and different types so I can imagine it was hard to explain it al to your DH!

Magic, sorry you really suffer ms! Although I didn't really had ms, when I had it, ginger worked really well as well as the regular eating. Hopefully it eases quickly as it is no fun at all!

MrsB, Fingers crossed you will have another normal cycle this month and it does make sense that you sort of in your second month of ttc! I really keep my fingers crossed the smep will work for you this month! Good luck!

QUOTE (~lils~ @ 29/03/2011, 02:21 PM) *
Different things seem to work for different people though - ginger was one of those things that made me sick.gif!! Wheras anything plain and salty would make me feel better.

Lils I am predicting babyboy.gif for you based on this! Way back when I was looking into gender swaying all the material said that boys like the salty diet, and with two girls onboard I could throw up just smelling salty chips! So maybe you will be evening up the blue/pink tally when your time comes?? Hope that heartburn dies down for you soon.

Magic - sorry to hear about the MS. If you are struggling to get enough fluids I recommend speaking to your doctor to see if a short trial of maxalon (anti nausea drug) would help out. Maxalon is a category A drug meaning it has been proven to have no effect on the baby - I personally found it had no effect on my all day vomitting either but if your nausea stays as nausea rather than too much vomitting your doc might let you try it. Hope you improve on your own though, and soon!

J3NN1 that sounds so horrid, what a tough procedure to go through. I really hope you get a BFP now.

Wannabe that is awful about the SUA diagnosis. I'm a bit ignorant about the condition. I hope you don't mind me asking what you mean that you can't rule out certain organs, does that mean that SUA can negatively impact on any of the major organs? Are there tests later down the track to find out if it has done that? Is there any treatment you can have? hhugs.gif

Wizzlet hooray for your positive news, sounds very good so far! You must be thrilled biggrin.gif

Wizzlet you asked about how things are going to work for my birth. To be honest, I feel pretty overwhelmed at times because we simply don't know, and we won't know till much closer to birth. It all depends on various factors like whether our kickboxing baby kicks herself into a head down position (if not, scheduled c-section), and whether she is positioned to come out first (if not, scheduled c-section). If she is head down and first in the flight path, then we can attempt a vaginal birth which would be my preference. What happens after that will again be decided on the day depending on what condition Adelaide is in - I won't go into details but after spending about 18 weeks post-miscarriage in the fluid she won't be like a normal little baby - if she comes out by herself with the placenta then great but the doctor said this is unlikely so I would be taken to theatre and either given a GA or epidural/spinal block (if I haven't had one already in labour) and he goes up with his hands and does like a D&C. If the hospital policy is to do a GA for this part of the process I will ask about whether I can just have a c-section but my hospital does not allow elective ceasars so who knows... unsure.gif So that is all that I know about what the D-day plans are - as you can see very up in the air sad.gif I've decided to just focus on the positives that I might be having a normal birth and take each day as it comes as it seems everything is out of my control from here on in. Plus it seems that the goal posts change nearly every appointment, one day I'm preparing myself for a c-section as soon as we hit term, then it is an induction at 37-38 weeks, now it could be natural birth at any point up to 41 weeks. I can't keep up! Luckily my birth plan is just 1. Go to hospital. 2. Have baby. 3. Bring baby home, so it can accomodate all the changes!

Funny story for you all. I'm getting up about 2-3 times a night for the loo so am pretty exhausted, and last night at 3am I went to the loo and suddenly freaked out thinking my pee smelled like beef! I woke up DH saying my pee smells like beef should we call the doctor??? He reminded me that we had a beef stew in the slow cooker overnight and THAT was what we could smell. Lucky I didn't dash straight to the phone blush.gif
Tara27
OMG Purple Daisy thank you so much for the awesome belly laugh this morning!!!!! roll2.gif I can't stop laughing at the fact that you were freaking out that your pee smelt like beef!!!!! That is the most hilarious thing I have heard in a while...you have really tickled my funny bone this morning!!!! roll2.gif roll2.gif roll2.gif
purple_daisy
Glad you enjoyed that Tara - imagine how my poor DH felt when he was woken up by his half crazy wife frantically going on about her pee in the middle of the night! Even funnier still, he didn't even mention it this morning so I wonder if he thinks he dreamt the whole thing???? roll2.gif
~lils~
Star - I've been looking at it for more than 6 months and still changed my mind at the last minute! But now I've spent money I've gotta stick to my guns. DH understood it alright eventually and I even managed to get his input on the colours - I think I've purchased a rainbow biggrin.gif

WBMA - sorry to hear that you have a definite diagnosis. I hope that the next few weeks pass really quickly til your morph scan and you can see if your little bub is okay. hhugs.gif

Pumpkinbum - I love your nursery!! And your DH has done a great job with the paintings. laughing2.gif at him calling himself DH - I remember showing my DH the world of EB at one point and having him ask who DH was!

Mtilly - good to have you back around, and your little boy Zac is so cute in your new sig!! Glad to hear everything is going a lot better for you and you are able to get some sleep and enjoy your little man.

J3nni - sorry to hear how painful the hsg was!! I really really really hope you get a BFP out of it bbighug.gif

Purple_daisy - roll2.gif at your pee comment - I could just imagine what the midwives might think if you rang the hospital!! Gotta love pregnancy brain biggrin.gif
I like your birth plan too - I guess its too hard to predict what will happen and as you say you are much better off just focusing on the positives like getting your little girl out into this world than worrying about all the possibilities. I'm sure they will make things clearer for you towards the end, and your DH will support you through whatever happens.

As for the boy/girl - who knows? I naturally love salty food to start with (my sea sickness cure was always plain chips and flat lemonade) so its not out of the ordinary for me. My mum has told me that the symptons I have including nausea and heartburn were things she got with me but not my brother, but everyone is different. I've triend asking squirt but he/she isnt quite up to answering questions yet Tounge1.gif

I'm off to the Ob again this arvo - cant believes its been 4 weeks since my last appt -eek!
*~*MagicHour*~*
Hi ladies original.gif

Just a quick one from me today so sorry for the lack of too many personals!!

Tara - Thanks for the advice re: the crystallized ginger. I have picked some up (along with some ginger nut biscuits) to try later today and see if it works.

lils - Thanks for sharing what helped you. I bought some Ritz crackers today and have been trying to eat some crackers in the morning before getting out of bed...which seems to help a little! Here's hoping the ginger stuff I just bought doesn't make me feel worse like it did you original.gif

Small_T - Thanks for the advice. I know what you mean about when the nausea gets bad nothing helps original.gif How I'm feeling today....

Wizzlet - Thanks too for your advice original.gif Oh and I told DH about your gender prediction and he wasn't too happy coz he wants a boy....so if we have a girl apparently it will be your fault lol laughing2.gif I'm hoping that my nausea isn't like yours...it's tough enough knowing there's probably another 5 weeks of it....but the possibility of it coming back again sad.gif I don't wanna think about it!! My thoughts go out to you....

Pumpkinbum - Thanks for your kind words - lucky you having a breezy pregnancy Tounge1.gif Hope the next 2 weeks fly by for you!!

Star80 - Thanks for the advice - here's hoping the ginger works for me too!! I'm also eating regularly...every 1.5-2hrs whether I feel hungry or not coz I find that an empty tummy makes the nausea soooooooo much worse!!

PurpleDaisy - Thanks for the advice re the Maxalon. At the moment I'm not vomiting and I'm still able to eat and drink regularly so I don't think it's worth trying the drug just yet. But I will keep it in mind if the nausea doesn't get any better.
Oh and thanks for the roll2.gif this morning...lucky your DH was there to calm your nerves original.gif

AFM - Still feeling pretty sick.gif It's getting worse every day which isn't nice...this morning was pretty bad and even eating three times already hasn't really calmed it down... sad.gif I've been to the shops this morning and bought crackers and ginger nut biscuits and crystallized ginger to see if they help to settle my stomach. I'm not looking forward to work tomorrow but thankfully there are only four days left (Thurs/Fri this week and Thurs/Fri next week) till I'm on holidays and I've finished this block so I won't be working again until the end of May/start of June when hopefully I'll be feeling much better.
Thanks again for all the support, kind words and advice original.gif It really has helped and I appreciate it!!!!!
Chalky85
Hi everyone,

Congratulations to all the lovely new mamas! I am very excited for you!

No other personals, just really wanted to pop in and say hi and mark my spot. I will be back with a mega post soon.

AFM

Well we are home finally! We got home on Friday afternoon and we are just enjoying being at home. It has been a very stressful 3 months and I am just happy to sit on my lounge with my bub and watch tv! DH went back to work yesterday and I survived happy.gif

We have heaps of appointments to go to locally and back in Sydney next week. Its hard to try and not feel anxious about Owen all the time but I am sure it will pass. I never thought I would be so worried about someone's bowel movements! The biggest concern for now is his weight- he is dreadfully underweight so we need to try and turn it around. His weight doesn't hit the growth chart at all!!! So we are still trying to bf but its so difficult- my supply is stuffed so I am feeding him then offering a top up. Its all very exhausting- I am in two minds about whether I give up bf or not.

BBL
purple_daisy
HOORAY CHALKY!!! What fantastic news that Owen is now home - how wonderful to just enjoy doing normal things like sitting on the couch with him. Oh I got all teary with joy for you. You have made it through so much - you deserve every happy moment at home. Good luck with increasing his weight through bfeeding. Does the ABA have a consultant or any information they can give you to help with tips? I suppose you've already had information overload from the hospital about it. I hope that you can get his weight up regardless of how you need to do it, so you can keep enjoying having your little man home biggrin.gif

Mtilly I meant to say it is great to see you in here again, we've missed you. Sadly my work computer keeps mucking up so I can't see your sig or Pumpkin's nursery but I am imagining them as both being beautiful!
RaspberryDelight
Wow I just found the end of the thread! I had so much to catch up on and I'm sure I've missed some too.

Big congratulations to Aleithaki and Rach on the birth of your daughters!
babygirl.gif babygirl.gif bbabyflip.gif bbabyflip.gif bbabyflip.gif bbluestork.gif bbluestork.gif

Wonderful congratulations to MagicHour! you made it and what a journey! May it be a smooth pregnancy and the MS gone soon.

What a relief for you Chalky to finally be home again. Hope all goes better from now on.

AFM: not much happening, all scans were normal and healthy. yay! I have to wear compression stockings everyday against varicose veins though, but I'm used to them now. Might be harder later when I can't reach my feet though...
Wizzlet
Purple - Thank you for putting yourself out there in answering my questions. I can't believe how amazing you are. I feel so lucky to have been able to share our pregnancy journeys together - albeit in the cyber world. You are such an inspiration. I too like your birth plan. Which ever way things evolve on the day, is the way they are meant to be.

Oh and your middle of the night scare - hilarious!!! roll2.gif I will laugh even harder if your DH thought he dreamt it!!!! You have to report back!

Magic - I eat ginger nuts all the time now! They seem to settle things for a little while. I forgot to mention that! Oh, and tell your DH little babygirl.gif are beautiful!!! laughing2.gif It's funny how different people have a 'preference' for genders. My DH really wanted a girl, but wouldn't say it too loud because he didn't want to be disappointed if we were having a boy and really, would be happy with whatever we were given. But you should have seen the look on his face when we were told it was a girl! I've never seen him so proud!

Pumpkin - I love your nursery! I think you and Peaches are going to have a bit of a nursery showdown!!!!

Chalky - So happy you have Owen at home! I must feel great to even for a little while, be able to have normal time together - in front of the TV. I can't really help you on the BF front... other than my suggestion is to do what is going to be easier and more straight forward for you. You certainly haven't failed him in any way if you decide to go down the bottle/formula path. I admire you for having stuck it out this long... breastfeeding scares me!

Lils - I am with Purple! I think you are having a babyboy.gif too! Mmmm salty chips... yum! I could so eat some right now!!!

Any news on Binxi???

Charley+James' mum
Purple- well the main problems could be with the kidneys, like only having 1, or having 2 tubes coming from the kidneys or 1 of the kidneys could be enlarged or have a horseshoe shaped kidney. Some of these can be repaired. It could have a hole in the heart that could fix itself or thru surgery or narrowing of the esophagus which should be able to be repaired too. Most things arer fixable hopefully. Or it could be born completely healthy! They should be able to pick most problems up on ultrasounds from 20 weeks. The only thing they can do is if anything starts to happen like slow growth in 3rd trimester etc they might have to bring on labour a couple of weeks early.

Rose - can u please put my due date back to the 29th of sept. I am going by the place I got my 8week scan done at and nots the hospitals radiology one I got done at 12 weeks as I am going back for my ultrasounds at the first place and they are going by my 8 week date. Thanks
seaside_shells
Mtilly great to hear from you again - we have missed you! Good to hear that little Zac is sleeping a bit more nowadays, you must feel so much better. He's gorgeous btw - love your new sig! babyboy.gif

Rach and Aleithaki hope you are both enjoying every moment of newborn cuddles and
Binxi guessing that you too have your precious little girl in your arms! ppinkstork.gif Hope all is well.

Chalky it must feel so good to be home with Owen after so long. I hope that he begins to gain weight soon and that all your appointments next week go well. bbighug.gif

SmallT how amazing to have heard bub's heartbeat!

WBMA so sorry to hear your news about the cord, it must be scary for you. I hope that all will be ok and that you will get some more answers at your 20 week scan. Look after yourself and make sure your DH takes care of you too bbighug.gif bbighug.gif

Magic hour sorry to hear about the nasty MS. Friends of mine swear by ginger too so hope it gives you a little relief. Lucky that you have a break from work coming up and hopefully it will have settled down once you go back.

Jenni you poor thing, the HSG sounds like it was just awful. I really hope it pays off with a BFP!!

Lils I keep thinking about whether I will find out the gender when I fall PG, guessing you're keeping it a surprise which is what I want to do too, but think it will be very hard!! Best moment ever at the birth though I bet!

Purple daisy so inspiring to read your birth plans, thank you for sharing them with us all.

Letmebe it must be so hard having your colleague fall pregnant like that, as much as you would try it would be tough not to be jealous. I hope you won't have to wait too much longer to see those two lines bbighug.gif

Mrs Brady good to hear your cycles have returned to normal now, hope that this will be your month.

Pumpkinbum I love the nursery!

Hi to Rose, Roz, Star80, Tara27 and everyone else I have missed!!!

AFM, wedding plans are all going well, it's very exciting!! I am still working day by day on my anxiety & depression, trying to exercise more often and not let myself get caught up in worries.... I'm still taking anti-depressants and expect to continue taking them while we start TTC, which concerns me a bit, but I think in the end it will be best for me not to be too stressed & anxious rather than try to go off them prematurely IYKWIM.

Edited for typos.
Peaches'n'Cream
Hello BB ladies

Purple my buddy I love that we are doing all of our things all at the same time original.gif. Thank you for sharing your birth plan with us hopefully you will be able to have a vaginal birth just like you want. You're strength is amazing and you made me laugh so hard with your BEEF PEE baahahahaha now that was hilarious!! We might have a race on our hands!! I have a feeling you will go before me for some reason maybe it's because I am almost convinced Lil Peach will be staying in till it isn't allowed to stay in any longer! All that willing Peach to stay put might work a little too well lol.

Magic sorry to hear you are not feeling the best. I unfortunatly do not have any MS cures to share with you I had to just plod along for 19 weeks of yuck! I really hope you find something to help you. And yes I will definitely upload a pic if I get on on Friday. I hope I do, I'm so excited!

BINXI WHERE ARE YOU??????? I'm sure you are enjoying your first week with your gorgeous lil bundle and can't wait to hear news!!

Oh don't worry SmallT I have been there and I have been to hospital for monitoring just in case, it is so worth going we sleep so much better after. I can't wait to hear what you are having either!! So exciting!!

Pumpkin! Your nursery is gorgeous!! and nice bump lady original.gif. Love all your little bits and pieces. ddance.gif ffear.gif ddance.gif 2 WEEKS LEFT FOR YOU!!!!! I"m so excited for you I can't wait for the news!! eexcite.gif eexcite.gif eexcite.gif ffear.gif eexcite.gif eexcite.gif eexcite.gif We really have come a long way haven't we. We might have to have a meet up once we have our bubs and have a lovely coffee date in the city or something original.gif.

WBMA sorry to hear about your SUA diagnosis keep us posted.

Mtilly sounds like Zac is getting on track now I'm so glad that your guys have some answers and some relief oh and are getting some sleep! He is a little too cute isn't he, love his pics original.gif

Chalky so great to hear from you and how good is it to finally be home! I hope you are all settling in really well. Lots o hugs.

Seashells what else have you booked or chosen for your wedding?? I love wedding plans. I hope you can find a good balance with your AD's with TTC. I have a few girls in my DIG who are taking AD's so I am learning a lot about it through them. Good luck hun.

Oh J3nn1 you poor thing I was so hoping that it wasn't going to hurt you sad.gif. It sounds like torture but now it's over and I hope that next month is yours lovely. Good luck. Keep us posted.

Hi to everyone I missed waves.gif and sorry my brain is fried tonight.

AFM- Sooooo excited!!! Mum and I are picking up the pram and matching capsule on Saturday!! I am so so excited to finally have it almost in the house! Heheeeee!!
purple_daisy
Peaches hahaha yes we might have a race on to D-day. Not sure what the winner gets though biggrin.gif That is so exciting about getting your pram soon. You'll have to post a pic! If all goes well at our scan on Monday DH and I feel ready to order our pram so it should arrive just after my mat leave starts and I can spend all day walking around the house with it, can't wait!

Seaside so good to hear from you and I'm pleased the wedding plans are going well. What have you got organised so far? What is still to go? Did you get much inspiration from bridal magazines? I became a bit addicted and ended up with at least 12 by the end of our 9 month engagement, which I only just got up the strength to throw out the other weekend (we've been married 2.5 years!).

Wannabemummy thanks for explaining SUA a bit more, I had no idea there were so many possible issues that could come from it. Keep strong, Peaches and I are examples of how things that seem disastrous at first can work out ok in the end. I hope that the 20 week scan will shed a lot more light on the situation and hopefully you will have a very healthy little bub, or worst case that she will have some of the problems that can easily be fixed. Oooh did I just say she?? Hehehe maybe it will be a girl and I will have picked it right from the start?

RaspberryDelight I hope your DH knows how to put stocking on, because trust me the time will come when you cannot do it for yourself! My DH has been putting on my socks and doing up my shoes for a couple of weeks now as I literally cannot get down there, I giggle to think what he would be like with stockings hehehe. Glad that your scans are all looking good.

Hi Ladies, just a quick message, it is so nice to see everyone so excited at the moment despite so many hurdles. What a nice vibe it is in here!

Just wanted to show you some of the items my sister has for sale on her facebook page, she is so clever! http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Twice...149890091735886 I can claim that I set up her page for her but that does not really compare biggrin.gif

I am loving her owls and thought there might be a few of you that would love these in your nurseries!
livview
Happy Thursday Girls!

Wow, sooooo much to catch up on.

First up, congrats to Rach for the arrival of her little girl. How exciting!!

WBMA
- Glad to hear you got a solid diagnosis on your little one. Sorry to hear about your DH though. I am sure you wee one is absolutely fine though.

Letmebe - Just wanted to give you a huge bbighug.gif . I hope 2011 is your year!

Wizzlet
- Was great to read up on your Calmbirth Experience. It sounds really great.

Star - That is so cool that you got lovely comments on your bump. I can't believe you are almost half way through. Amazing how time flies. Its cool that you are opting for a surprise. Hope you can hold out. biggrin.gif Part of me wishes we knew and the other part doesn't.

Peaches - 9 weeks left? Wow! I hope you post a piccie of your lil Peach! I can't get enough of scans!! How exciting about picking up the pram. Woohoo! What did you end up getting?

Magic - Ohhh you poor thing with the nausea. For me it was drinking plenty of water and sucking on lifesavers. laughing2.gif But even then it only made it disappear for a while. Sometimes I just wanted to be sick but never was. I hope you can find something that eases your discomfort!

Pumpkin - 2 weeks to go. Are you finding work harder now? I am hoping to work up till the last minute too (I just love my job!). Your DH is so talented, they are great little paintings and your nursery looks gorgeous.

Mtilly - So pleased to hear you and Zac are doing well now. I can't believe he is 10 weeks already, amazing! Gorgeous sig btw, what a cutie!

Jenn - Oh you poor thing. You definitely deserve a BFP after that!

Purple - roll2.gif at your pee comment.

Chalky - WOOHOO! So glad you and Owen are finally home.

AFM - Well we have our next Ob appointment on monday so I get to hear about my GTT results. I can't actually believe that on Sunday I will be 28 weeks! Eek! Into the home stretch I guess. DH and I put up our decal on the weekend. Its sooo cute. Little sheep jumping over a fence with stars etc. My mum sent it over to match all the other stuff we have from Pottery Barn Kids.

So sorry if I missed anyone. waves.gif

Oh forgot to mention to you girls that I have a job interview this afternoon with my local city council as a temp to begin with but if they like me after 6-9months then they will take me on as permanent. Have my fingers crossed that this is it and I can give my notice at work tomorrow.

Hey banana cute new name! Good luck with the interview, I really hope you ace it biggrin.gif

Livview your nursery decorations sound cute. Any chance of a pic?

We are going shopping this weekend to an arts and crafts market and have been told there is a big stall there for wall stickers, so hopefully we can find something nice for the nursery as it is currently very boring and hasn't got any decorations. My mum is sewing us some cute curtains that have monkeys swinging around holding letters of the alphabet so that will make it look more attractive.
