I'm looking for childcare from July. Does anyone have experience with this centre?

My friend has a family member that runs the place. I went there to see about getting my bub in. It is an old centre, but it will be joining with Alkira and moving to a new centre at the end of the year. The current building is a bit grotty and old...

Overall, if I didn't have much choice then I would put my DS in there. BUT when we visited they had a baby left to cry on the floor. he was really upset, so much so that I wanted to pick him up to cuddle him. I really didn't like that. My friend says that is not normal of them though.

It is not too bad, but not my first preference. And TBH I think my friend said she would prefer Alkira too (they are sister centres).

Go visit and see what you think really. The staff were nice enough.

Good Luck.

I had my girls in there for a while and was very happy with them. We only changed centres because a place in a centre that opened earlier came up.

The staff at the time were wonderful, it was an older centre but the staff more than made up for it.

We were offered a place there and the only reason we did not take it was because we got offered a place at DH's department's centre and I like that we are all in the same area (Barton, Parkes and Manuka) as I wanted DS close to our workplaces (not a 30-40 minute drive away from us).

I was referred to the centre by a couple of co-workers who have their children there and they were both very happy with the centre. Also I liked how easy the director was to deal with unlike some of the others that I put DS on the list for (I had DS on 10 centre waiting lists as I wanted a mid-year place and day-care for infants is hard to get).

So while I cannot comment on the experience of having my son there, he very nearly was.
