Could you please share the weight that your multiples were at birth.

I was under the impression that if you carried to 38+ weeks with no growth limitations on babies that they would be a 'normal' size 7-8 pounds. shrug.gif
By the looks of the Clothing size thread this doesn't seem the case. sad.gif
SNT349
My boys were 2460g and 2045g at 34+6 weeks.

That didn't happen here. Mine were 38w and 5lb8oz and 5lb13oz

farmgal
At 37 .5 weeks mine were 2.89 and 2.90 kg.
*dingo*
Mine were 2.1kg & 2.3kg at just shy of 36wks.
~QUIXOTE~
Oh wow. They're going to be tiny ohmy.gif
I just thought If normal growth was followed they'd be the same as a singleton, aslong as they were carried to full term etc.

DD1 was 38W 8.7
DD2 was 37W 8.8

Will be interesting to See what they weight. Must invest in some smaller clothes unsure.gif

Oh snap Steggles! Mine were 2.4 & 2.6 as well. Except they were born 2 weeks earlier than yours at 35+1. They seemed so tiny, but they were obviously boofers LOL.

At 38w mine were 5lb9oz each. Another set of twins born the same day were a little heavier - about 5lb10oz and 6lb at 36w.
Some have told me it also has to do with the type of twins - and whether they are sharing a placenta or not. Mine were mo-di, whereas my friends were di-di.

My dr said that multiples generally grow at the same rate as singletons up until a certain point when they are a bit more pushed for space then their growth slows down. Would be interested if knows a bit more and can explain if either of these theories are true?? original.gif

MCDA twins - 37+6 2.6kg/2.7kg - remained in 25th percentile until there last appointment where they have jumped to the 50th biggrin.gif

37+5wks ds2 weighed in at 3.5kgs and dd was 3.1kgs

my singleton was born at 39wks and weighed 3.720kgs so I think ds2 would have been bigger than ds1 if he stayed put for another week or two.
kateepops
37w6d twin 1 3260 twin 2 3480, so whoppers for me!!

After 3 singletons (8lb 12oz @ 41+2, 8lb 6oz @ 40+6 and 8lb 7oz @ 39+3), my twins were induced at 38+0 and weighed 8lb 1oz and 7lb 1oz.

(Funnily enough, my "little" one has always been different from the other 4 children, the bigger twin was just like having another one of my singletons.)

I had whoppers too. They were born @ 37 +5 and were 3.3 kgs and 3.7 kgs. I had to take all the 00000 and 0000 back and get 000. Thankfully I kept all the tags on.

twin 2 - 2.9kg
Loze
36w4d, 2.98 (Ms J) and 3.06kg (Mr P). Mr P was the same weight as my singleton born at 40w6d, but she was tall and skinny as a rake (appeared to have had her growth compromised in utero) and he was short and fat!

I was expecting the babies to be much smaller, even though they had consistently tracked at or over the top of the growth charts on growth ultrasounds. It was a nice surprise.

2.4 and 2.6kg or 5lb8oz and 5lb12oz. Length 46 and 47cm. 38+1 weeks

Wasn't sure what to expect sizewise, knew they'd be a bit smaller but probably didn't expect how skinny they were. Tiny little thin arms and legs. No fat layer, so scrawny looking.

Made my sisters 8lb14oz 51cm baby look huge.. hehe

Mine are fraternal.

My friends twins weighed 5lb 12oz(girl) and 8lb3oz(boy) at 38weeks.
MeHimandOur3Girls
My twins born at 38+4 3.66kg(8.1)& 3.33kg(7.5)
My singleton born at 41+3 4.14kg

So it my twins stayed in as long as my singleton chances are they would have been bigger than her.
babyblessedxo
My twins at 34w4d were 3kg & 3.3kg! I would hate to think how huge they would I have been had I gotten to 38w!
