I heard this name the other day and I really like it. DH thinks it's a little out there, just wondering what your thoughts were on Aspen for a boy?
We already have a Hudson, do you think Aspen and Hudson sound too "American" if you know what I mean?

It does sound very American to me, yeah. A bit 'wannabe'. But you know, people would get used to it. It's not the worst!

For some reason I straight way thought of a toilet but I have no idea why. I think there might be a part of a toilet with a similar sounding name? Even without that thought, I don't like it and I don't think it sounds good with Hudson either.

Yeah I think the whole American town and American river in common is annoying me, but I still really love the name.
We were thinking Oliver, which I think sounds better with Hudson.
This baby naming business is HARD!

LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Its different but strong and masculine (cannot imagine a girl named Aspen).
I LOVE American names !!! Hence I have a Jett and Carter.
I think Hudson and Aspen sound extremely cool and trendy !!!!

I don't think anything positive can come from a word with such a heavy accent on the "AAss" sound.

I think Aspen is a great place to ski, but it's not just for boys.
As a name? No.

I read this in the side bar and thought it was going to be about whether Aspen was a suitable holiday spot for a young boy.
So it definitely says "Town" to me not person.
Shame as it does actually sound quite nice.
What about Asher?

I like it, I think it does sound American and goes well with Hudson IMO. However, the possibility of bullying based on a name like that

Kids can be very nasty with names and those things stick big time.
Oliver sounds perfect with Hudson

That was my first thought too, but I've always thought Oliver and Hudson sound great together, so that would be my pick

Unless you misspelt your name, you're named after a bird. Or a jug. Or a mug. But not a tree.
ETA if you meant Jarrah it's a type of timber, not a tree.

Sorry I am not a fan of Aspen at all its like one them names u hear and whisper to a friend 'what were they thinking'....but some ppl possibly dont like my children's names either - in fact it took me 2days to take a shine to my son Aiden's name - My husband & i struggled with boys names so much so when he was a boy it was like 'ok....' lol ...we overjoyed but we never agreed on anything and Aiden was the only neutral ground but now he is an Aiden through and through and u couldnt imagine his name anything else lol -
WHich will be the case no matter what u decide darl.
If my first child who was a girl, was instead a boy she would have been Blake and my third child, a girl Natalia would have been Zavier - now i am preggers with my 4th god knows what boys name we will have lol.
Good luck - boys names are so damn hard.

I like some tree names, but Aspen Colorado and Hudson New York are both cities.
And each one is okay but both is too much.
(Aspen is pretty touristy and yuppie too, not really a great association for me)
Meanwhile, my husband only thinks trees, but said he'd name a kid Cedar before Aspen.

I loved the name Aspen when I was pg with DS2, I also loved Aston. DH didn't like either name! DS2 ended up being Reid, which really suits him

Good luck with your name search.

Well maybe I wouldn't call a child Acacia, but I like them in general.

Kinda reminds me of that episode of Scrubs where Turk doesn't have time to shop for Carla so he grabs her a pen out of the ass box - they say the word ass-pen about three or four times.
Sorry OP, NMS.

To me it sounds quite cool and crisp.
I agree it might be a bit much in combo with Hudson.
My nephews brother is Altair.

Would be fairly open to teasing from several avenues.
