Well I am 24 weeks pg with our DD 2

and we are in a position that we haven't been in be before.
When I was pg with DS we knew his name would be Harrison. We never debated that was it.
When I was pg with DD1 we knew her name would be Mikayla. Never debated that either (just the spelling!).
Now I have come up with a name that I like and think is very pretty and DH doesn't mind it but he thinks sounds too similar to Mikayla.
As we are keeping the name a secret I need some advice from somewhere, so please help!!!
Harrison, Mikayla and Alana...Does Alana sound too similar Mikayla???Thank you!!!

Our DD is Kayla and we had chosen Alana if this LO was a girl......he's not so now we're on the hunt for a boy's name. Go for it - I think it's a great name

As a mother of another Mikayla (we debated the spelling too

), I would have npo issues with calling anther daughter Alana, and I love the nn Lani.

Depends how you pronounce it.
A-lane-ah does sound similar to Mikayla
A-laa-nah sounds very different and I'd prefer this one.

3 syllables and a similar ending sound does not 'too similar' make

I think Alana is a lovely name. No I don't think it sounds too similar to your DD's name. It's actually one of the names on our list if we have another DD but I'm concerned it's too similar to my DD's name.
