Cheeky Monkey's Mum
Well I am 24 weeks pg with our DD 2 biggrin.gif and we are in a position that we haven't been in be before.

When I was pg with DS we knew his name would be Harrison. We never debated that was it.

When I was pg with DD1 we knew her name would be Mikayla. Never debated that either (just the spelling!).

Now I have come up with a name that I like and think is very pretty and DH doesn't mind it but he thinks sounds too similar to Mikayla. rolleyes.gif

As we are keeping the name a secret I need some advice from somewhere, so please help!!!

Harrison, Mikayla and Alana...Does Alana sound too similar Mikayla???

Thank you!!!
Craptacular
I don't think it sounds too similar to Mikayla at all. I think it's lovely. original.gif

Our DD is Kayla and we had chosen Alana if this LO was a girl......he's not so now we're on the hunt for a boy's name. Go for it - I think it's a great name original.gif
mrsboof
As a mother of another Mikayla (we debated the spelling too biggrin.gif ), I would have npo issues with calling anther daughter Alana, and I love the nn Lani.

3 syllables and a similar ending sound does not 'too similar' make original.gif

MyPrincess
I think Alana is a lovely name. No I don't think it sounds too similar to your DD's name. It's actually one of the names on our list if we have another DD but I'm concerned it's too similar to my DD's name.
