Afternoon everyone,
I mentioned this in a previous post (different subject) so thought I would create a new post.
We are now up to buying change tables and baby baths etc..
Our setup is as follows:
We have a pretty good size bathroom. There is a full size bath which is also used as a shower. There is room for a bench to put the baby bath on or mobile stand. Also room for a fold up change table.
The room we are putting the kiddies in is also a good size. Would be no problem to have a change table in there too.
Would be interested to know what other people are doing in this situation?
DW is doing well and seems to pop out more on hot days!! She can still just fit in some of her normal clothes but has to decide if she pulls her pants up over her belly or let them sit under her belly. Either way it is very entertaining to watch. Never thought I would laugh so much during this pregnancy.
Kind regards,
Scott

Hi Scott
We had a changetable with a bath & wheels so we could wheel it into the kitchen to bath the babies when they were little. We then got one of those portable baths (second hand) that we put on the table, filled with water & bathed the babies.

From when they could sit, we got a bathseat each & they've been in the big bath ever since.

Cheers

Hi Scott.
We have opted for a change table in the babies room that has the bath under the mat. It is light weight and on wheels (bathroom is next door). But we have also bought a single bath, that can be put anywhere.
We thought we might actually do the bathing in the kitchen (second bath on table), where there is plenty of room for us to make it a bit of a family event........

But I guess until faced with bath times we will wait and see. Our son, Barnaby hated baths and would only bath in the big one lying on my husbands chest .........

All these decisions we have to make. Now at 33 weeks we are finally putting everything in the babies room this coming weekend. Our builders weren't quite in the hurry that we would of liked

[color=Blue]Hi Scott
We have a large double laundry tub, so we used one side of that to wash the boys in, and DH made a change table to sit across the other side. It was fabulous until the boys grew out of it (in about 2-3 months). So, after that we found that for us it was easiest to wash the boys in the shower with us! Then, when they became a bit too heavy to do that we put them both in the big bath.
Not sure if I've been much help, but for us this has worked, and it saved all the hassle of having to have a plastic baby bath.

We bought a plastic baby bath and stand. We used it maybe 4 times before we decided it was easier to put the bath on the kitchen bench next to to sink. I could fill and empty the bath without dramas. I would bring the change table into the kitchen (timber one on wheels), and had a rocker in the kitchen for the baby who was not being bathed. Sometimes I might not have the change table in there, but would just lay a towel in the rocker and let them kick in the nude for a while - they loved it.

Hi Scott,
We have a wooden change table on wheels and we wheel it into the bathroom for baths. We also have a bench in the bathroom which we sat the plastic bath on and bathed one at a time till about 3 months ago.
We then went to bathing 2 in the big bath. I still take the change table into the bathroom cause it is stocked with everything you need. I now just put the change mat down on the floor next to the bath as sometimes I am by myself at night and need to be close incase whoever is left in the bath decides to stand up etc.
Hope that helps

We used a plastic baby bath on the dining table as it was winter when the girls were born and that room was the warmest. Just remember that the bath is very heavy when it's filled with water. If you have room in your bathroom and it's warm enough, I'd suggest that's a good place as then you don't have to take the water far. We only bathed the girls every week when they were small - they didn't like it much and it was such a hassle that I used to just give them what my mother calls a "top and tail" (bottom, face and hands) every day. Then we moved to Daddy holding one at a time in the big bath, then bath seats in the big bath and at 18 months we've just got rid of the bath seats - they were so good to keep them still but a bit of a drama getting rid of them!

Hi Scott - Glad to hear that both you and DW are going well and laughing heaps!! It is such a wonderful experience to be able to share - Dh couldnt wait till he could feel the babies kick him in the back in bed, now that he can he progresses to the next exciting thing for him, identifying what body part is poking out!! LOL - anyway
Bath Situation for us is - we have bought a baby bath to use on the kitchen bench or table, we got one with a hose for draining rather than trying to move it while full. We are presonally looking forward to some shower time with the babies and I have taken the advice from other here that sometimes to pop them in with mum/dad when they are in there is easy and encourages nice bonding.
If you have the room and dont mind to spend the extra money - get what you feel is needed. Second hand is a gret idea as you may feel it all too much, but its a very personal thing!
One tip I got from a *expert* parenting book (not) was not to do too much in one room, as the babies find it hard to determine which area is for fun, bath, sleep etc....Just a thought? We are much like Gracie at this stage - just going to see what happenes and what the babies like best. We will be seeing Winter in soon and in this new house I think bath time could be in the lounge on the coffee table!! LOL
Hope this helps and is not to rambly

Hey Scott! Glad to hear things are going well at present.
We used one of the plastic baby baths on our kitchen bench for the first few months, easy to fill and empty into sink. We also had winter babies, and our kitchen and dining room were nice and cosy as we have an old home and the heater is in this area. We have one of those molded foam change mats, so we can move that around to where we need it, table, floor etc. The girls now hop in the bath with big sister most of the time and think it is a hoot!
It really does depend on your space and budget. I'd probably opt for a moveable change table if your house is one that you can move around freely in. That wasn't an option for us, so we just made do..
