Hi,
We are budgeting ATM and Ive decided to go for a rich chestnut, warm chocolate brown shade home colour and then just get 3-4 fringe foils in a deep caramel shade at the hairdresser for $6 each, to break it up, instead of spending $75 on blonde foils every time! Also my hair has been damaged with lots of blonde for many years

and i need to give it a rest and leave it dark for a while. I'm not sure where to start with home colours, what is your favorite home hair colour brand that youve had good results with?
Thanks

I use Napro Palette permanent in Chocolate Brown and I love it. Never had any problems and it comes with a sachet of apricot conditioner that makes your hair nice and shiny.

Garnier Nutrisse has been bombproof for me and I am pretty much not good at that kind of stuff. It also smells/feels nice afterward and the colour looks good.

I like the schwarzkopf brilliance ones, but I use dark colours and I leave it on for longer than it says. I've tried other brands and they're all pretty much the same, the only one I won't use again is Feria. It burnt my scalp something bad, I had to wash it off after 10 minutes because the pain was just building up, but that could have just been a personal reaction to it.

excell10 is great, only 10 minutes for permanent colour. i don't have half and hour to sit around and wait for colour to develop! people comment on the colour all the time

I use a Clairol one - alternate between a few different shades. Current is dark mahogany, I think.

Another vote for Schwarzkopf, I too use dark colours and find the colour really lasts.

I would recommend you go into one of the hair places that sell the "better" home dyes.. they last longer and are better for your hair. They can also consult on what colour to use and tone and all that. Also, if you have greys it can be a whole different ball game! I have been home dying for 20 years and although it does cost a little bit more than the supermarket dyes they do seem to last longer.

i put a clairol nice n easy one on my hair tonight, the sharp smell made my eyes burn and water! (I signed up for a freebie to try out their new foam/easy dispenser. It sucked) Avoid at all costs...
