Hi,
I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this, i am a father of one boy and my wife is soon to have twins. We own a holden zafira which is holdens van or version of people mover. The problem i have is when the twins arrive, i will have 3 kids under two meaning three car seats as my oldest boy wont fit a booster. The holden zafira isnt too wide as its built on the astra chassis. Does anyone know of car seats that arent as wide or twin seats so that i can fit 3 across the row until my oldest is big enough to go in the back row in a booster seat (he's 10kg now 18months old).

This topic came up just a few weeks ago and there were many and varied answers...see if I can find the link for you. There seemed to be a few options mentioned.

Fortunately my eldest was out of her seat when the twins arrived, but still needed to buy a new car to allow room for the two capsules and DD in the middle. You probably didn't need to hear that. I thought the Zafira had mulitple seating options????

Anyway, I'll see if I can find the link. Good luck!

Hi twinmomma,
I had a quick look in the forum couldnt see an old post so i posted again (sorry), it seems like safe and sound have a seat designed for small cars, since the zafira has decent room across the middle bench this might just suit the purpose, i will have to go to a baby store and test it !. The zafira is great for a small family which is why i bought it, however its more for the ordinary family that have kids spaced 2 years apart not 3 under two. Only the middle row in the car has restraints for car seats, if my oldest was bigger i could put him in the back seats in a booster and i wouldnt have any problems, i got too many small kids (they are worth every cent we are ivf so we know what its like to have to fight to have them) !!.

Hi there,

Congrats on the twin pregnancy!

We have a Holden Zafira which we bought in June. We also have 2 safe n sound Compaq seats in the middle row plus our first child who was 5 when the twins arrived. We actually prefer to have her in the middle row as well so bought her a Nova booster seat which we then used in conjunction with a Safe n Sound Safety Harness as the Zafira only had a middle lap belt.
You'll need all the back space you can get for whatever double pram you end up with so really the Zafira will be a 5 seater for a while as we have found.
We started out with a Holden Astra City for the first 6 months and were still able to have both Compaq seats and the booster in the middle but it really was squishy.
If you go to a pretty decent baby store they will maybe let you try the seating combo in your car as we did as who wants to spend a fortune on stuff that doesn't fit!

Let us know if you need anymore help and congrats once more!

Jo
