My DS who is 3.5 years old broke his arm last week. He fell off the see saw at home. He is doing fine. He now has a full cast on his arm. Which will be on for 5-6 weeks.
I would love to write on it as I think that is part and parcel of having a broken limb. It is fun and he would love it. My DH does not agree. He thinks it will look terrible and that we shouldnt write on it. He feels really strongly about it.
I think it is so stupid that he feels so strongly about something so silly.
I just thought everyone would write on a cast. Isnt that part of having one.
What do you all think? Would you write or not write?

Write on it and let his friends write too. He will love all the attention! We drew a ben 10 watch on my son's cast when he broke his arm. It was the first week of school last year and the other kids just thought he was the coolest kid ever

By the time it came off there was hardly an empty spot on it.

Definitely write. He's not at an age where people are likely to write inappropriate things on there, so why not?

DD just got her cast off today after fracturing her wrist last month, one of the mums from school drew pictures all over it yesterday and DD loved it.
So I also say write on it

He just thinks it will look horrible. It just startled me how stongly he felt about it. I am pretty sure when I write on it he will get cross. Whatever I am going to do it anyway. He will get over it quickly as he isnt one to be cross.
Who cares I say!! It is fun.
He comes from a family who are such kill joys. They just seem incapable of having any fun and worry about absolutely everything. It annoys me some times (but that is a different post). I love them but have some fun people, live a little!!!!
I remember one Christmas I bought water bombs (it was a hot chrissie). I thought the kids could have fun with it. We werent allowed to have them at his parents house as they thought the kids might choke on them. WHAT!!!! Anyway I did have them at my house the next day. My kids and my nieces and nephew had so much fun!!!! Hey we had fun!!!
