Hi all, I know this might sound selfish on my behalf and a bit of a strange Q? to ask but im sure there is other people out there whom have thought about this aswell. *LOL* original.gif

I am currently pregnant with twins (as you's know) wink.gif
and EDD is the 27th of May, now if babies are happy where they are and not wanting to budge after approx 34wks. I am wanting to ask my Ob if he will induce me around approx 35wks. Not only because i don't think that i would be able to carry to full term but for a number of reasons too, ie, my eldest daughter (15yrs) is only with me on school hoildays she lives 650kms away and i would love for her to be included in the labour but not the birth, my MIL lives in an other state and we would love her to be there for the birth, so planning her trip here around a date would help, first & last grandchildren for her and losing my FIL and her husband will be such a joy for her to be here.
And the same goes for my mum, she lives in the same town as my daughter (650kms away) and i am wanting her with me for the birth as she has been in for both births of my two girls, and my nanna whom is 93 this year would love to come with my mum but not be at the hospital for the birth, but just to see her great grand children.
So as you see it may sound selfish on my behalf but very helpful in-did with having my family with us at the birth.

Please ... any thoughts or ideas will help us out a great deal, and dont worry about offending me with any comment you may have, i have pretty thick skin. wink.gif
And any ideas on what my Ob's thoughts might be on this?

No_idea!
[color=Blue]I understand your dilema and why you might be tempted to want to ask your ob to deliver at a certain date, but I have a feeling your ob will want you to try to keep those gorgeous babies in there for as long as possible (usually 37 weeks+). The longer you can hold off, the better it will be for them.

Probably not what you wanted to hear, but just my thoughts. ;p

Hi there!

Same thing here - sorry, I really can see your point and understand. I have spoken to my Ob about this and he was quiet firm in saying that unless medical intervention is required, there will be none.

His reasons were:
~ More health implications on the babies
~ Medical issues for you
~ Insurance and legal issues for him
~ Public/Private hospital have their own rules and they dont encourage or support un-scheduled inductions

I too am sorry to bring this bad news along, but the longer in the better and I am sure your family will want that too.

Like Vanessa I feel bad writing this - as its not what you want to hear, but I also asked at what stage would they induce me. ~ I got the above answer~
