Beem.
A little boy in DD11's class goes by this name.
Has anyone heard of this name before? Is it even a real name?
I'm wondering perhaps if they were going for BEAM ( as in Jim ) but didn't know how to spell it.

Whether it's a "real" name or not I think it sounds awful and just reminds me of Jim Beam. Or perhaps a gymnastics apparatus.

It is Dutch and northern Germany :-) We have a friend in Holland called Beem except that it is pronounced kind of like Bame (only imagine a Dutch/German accent!)
