We are trying to plan a family holiday in November and have been making enquiries with holiday parks. Our biggest problem is finding a space for 2 travel cots. A lot of cabins have 2 sets of bunks but won't remove a set for our 10day stay to accomodate us! ARGH!!!

We are looking at the far north coast of NSW. We live in Brisbane so would go Sunshine coast too if we could find somewhere. We thought of a unit but we need space for the kids to run without having to go 'out' IYKWIM. And I think houses would be too expensive, or if we could afford it, too far from the beach or a view...we might as well be at home!

Prices and facilities are great but they just can't fit us in literally.

Where do you all go with little ones? I am not ready to camp with nappies and I guess our main requirement is to be able to put the boys in a room in their cots for a day sleep. I know they may be out of their cots by then (they'll be 2) but we hope not.

Any suggestions greatfully accepted. I must say we did find one place that woudl move beds but on further inspection there was not much to do there and it would be a drive to get anywhere.

Are we asking for too much?

Thanks

No_idea!
[color=Blue]So far we've holidayed with our boys down the south coast to our holiday house, but they don't have their own room there. But, if we were to travel somewhere else I would like them to have a room so we can give them some quiet time.

Mmmmmm, where can you go?!?! Have you thought of contacting some of the apartment blocks on the Gold Coast (Surfers Paradise, Burleigh, Coolangatta, Rainbow Bay etc) and see if they could remove beds in the 2nd bedroom so that you can put the cots in there? We stayed at a lovely apartment in Surfers before we had the boys and it had a fabulous indoor and outdoor pool, it was right on the beach and close to shops and restaurants. It only had 1 bedroom, but there was a separate sitting room that had a sofa bed in it and sliding doors that could be closed for privacy. That sort of thing would probably be perfect for your portable cots. I think it was called the Morroccan (not sure of spelling). We stayed up high and there was a balcony, but there were ground floor apartments (might be better to have one of those so you're not worrying about the kids being out on the balcony).

Anyway, that's just a thought.

Let me know if you find something as we'll be wanting to travel up to Queensland soon ourselves!

have you tried contacting the tourist infomation office of the place where you're going....they may have some alternative accomodation options....maybe a house or such?

One place we stayed we got caught out as they assured us we could fit 2 portacots in the room allotted...in the end we rearranged the whole room-took the double mattress out into the living area and we slept there and the boys had the main bedroom.

good luck.
