FTM – Your DF sounds so sweet with his own baby bag that he packed himself!

I’m worried I’ll need a suitcase to fit everything in to take to hospital. I wrote out a list and I was sure I kept it minimal. My mum, dad and sister were cracking up last night at the things I had written on it. They couldn’t believe I’ve been asked to take nappies etc…

I have a few questions and wondering if I can get an idea of what other people are doing…

1. Should I pack a small “labour” bag that my husband can then take home afterwards? Then a bigger “hospital stay” bag as I’ll be in for 5 days, and then should I take the “baby bag” for the things they want me to take for the baby – clothes, wash, wipes, nappies etc…?

2. When do you think bags should be ready and packed by?

3. What food are you taking for your support person for while you’re in labour?

4. Are you going to take your own water bottles to drink from?

Really feeling like the countdown is on…. SO EXCITED/NERVOUS/READY/SO NOT READY

misspip
Hello all :-)
Don't have the thread below to refer to for personals, but did want to say macdolby our next door neighbours had a goanna die in their wall cavity and it was unbearable for about a week. Luckily (hopefully!) your rat is smaller than a goanna so should rot away much more quickly!! The smell of rotting goanna was unbearable even at our house, can't imagine how the neighbours coped.
Work and replacements - my work has had no luck replacing me (this must mean i am irreplaceable right?) so may have to use fly-ins from Brisbane and Townsville to see the children i normally see (am paediatric audiologist). Is very hard getting any health care staff in far north qld, aside from very enthusiastic new-grads keen to save the world :-)

Have been working offsite this week in Innisfail and staying down here. Whilst i miss my DH dearly, it has been nice having a whole bed to myself and sleeping like some kind of bloated starfish each night (me and my five or so pillows!) and not having to worry about disturbing him!

Whilst i am here, i have been putting my work time to good use trying to work out which MCNs to purchase. There are so many! I think we are going to use them full-time if we can. Just have to replace the washing line that got crushed in the cyclone first, or we'll have no chance of ever getting them dry!

Had our first antenatal class on the weekend which was fun. Midwife did very convincing acting of what each type of contraction is like, and managed to scare everyone in the room in the process. I think i have more of an idea what to expect now though.

Gotta go, next victim is here. Hope you're all having a good week.

macdolby
Afternoon

Ah, its so good to have some sunshine, I got to open up the doors and get some fresh air in this place!

Jade - re your questions - not sure if you're going private or public but I think that would dictate a lot as to what you'd need to take for baby. If its private, you won't need a single thing apart from the going home clothing. Public I've been told to pretty much take everything!

Also for private they provide bottled water etc and dads can eat your meals (I think from memory they could also order from the 'menu'...)

update for PPL - I just got my letter from them telling me that the FAO will deliver my Parental Leave Pay (then they say in the next para that they 'may' be able to pay me Parental Leave when I provide proof of birth of my child). So, I think I am pretty much ready to go with this pending that birth notification. I think it is worth getting the documentation in.

Still havent booked the capsule... may call them now! original.gif

ames_78
Packing bags - I'll probably try and get it done around 36 weeks as I figure you're technically classed as full term at 37 weeks. Can't even remember when I did it last time. Guess the sooner the better just in case.

Just remember to take some plastic bags as I remember putting my labour clothes in there and my lovely mum offered to take it home to wash. In the end that was really only a couple of pairs of undies as I had bought an oversized t-shirt to wear for labour and it ended up pretty gross so told hospital staff to throw it!

I was private so didn't need to take water, etc. I took some lollies but didn't really have many of them. Lucky DH got meals served whilst I was in labour so I watched him eat steak!!

PPL - think I'll just apply online soon rather than hold off - I'm too much of an organised person to leave it.

Just posted in FB that I passed the GTT test!

Now just hanging out for 3 weeks time for my ultrasound to check placenta placement as it was a little low last scan. Anyone else got upcoming scans?

macdolby
misspip - thanks for the info re the smell, so only about 4 more days to go - at least I'm at work for the next 3! cant believe it, I thought it was slightly better today but must have just been cos I had the doors open - its back now with a vengeance and whenever I stop burning the candle the smell comes back pretty quickly!

Ah, DD had a massive tanty before (got a comb stuck in her hair, it was funny to listen to but boy does my girl have a temper!). She's now in bed and whilst I was reading her a story I was thinking - great, DH will be away for about 18 nights... woo-hoo! aint I going to be a bundle of fun by the time he gets home!

ames - thanks for the tip about the plastic bag!

I picked up the enrolment forms for DD for next year - I can't believe she's starting school! Very exciting!

ok, gotta scrounge up some dinner - I really can't be bothered tonight.
first_time_mummy
packing bags - all i have packed in my hospital bag (or should i say suitcase) is pj's, a few breast feeding singlet tops, breast pads, maternity pads and a few toiletries
DP packed his baby bag as a just in case thing and it has 8 nappies, 2 wonder suits, 2 bottles, nappy rash cream wipes, a muslin wrap and a big wrap.

PPL - another question... i AM eligeable for the PPL however a girl at work has told me today that if i do not return to work after getting paid the PPL ammount i will need to backpay centrelink the difference between the PPL ammount and the baby bonus... she said that if you do not intend to return to work after your maternity leave you should choose the baby bonus instead of the PPL or be faced with a bill afterwards. How true is this?
I do intend to return but not to the same work place or on a full time basis?
eric is mine!
FTM: I think you need to contact Centrelink/Family Assistance to find out the right information. There are a lot of people out there without the correct info.

macdolby Yukky... you poor thing having a horrid smell... ick, esp while pregnant and you sense of smell is heightened.

ames_78 I have a scan at 34 weeks to check baby size, positioning etc. I think it is a waste of time, as baby can move etc in the last 6 weeks, but I"m happy to see Baby Girl again! original.gif

AFM: a fairly hectic morning and early afternoon for me. Then a nap in the late afternoon. That was bliss. In the a/c too. It was bloody hot here today. (Although not as hot as you poor people living in Perth).
It was so cool for a few days last week and I was really enjoying it. But we're up int he early 30's for a few more days. Lame. We're meant to be in Autumn now!

Still not convinced with the set up of Baby Girl's room... GAH! it's so hard to set things up when you have a small room!

I'm also going to call my OB tomorrow about my swelling. I'm concerned about it. I'm sure it's nothing, but I'd rather have him tell me it is just swelling than to assume it is and there actually be something wrong.
The reason I'm worried about it is cause I didn't have it with DD. So I dont' know how much swelling is "normal" for me.

I'm off now... Not sure what I'm doing tonight... I do have the urge to clean. Must be nesting again!
eccentricity
Ames: yay on passing the GTT!

Packing bags: I haven't even thought about it to be honest.. Looking forward to choosing which teeny clothes I am taking though! I may buy bub a new outfit for coming home... So far she just has her sister's hand me downs... Although to be fair Lilah was only in 0000 for a week so the clothes aren't exactly worn!

May get on to packing soon though, bub's size has me worried! For my first time I had a labour bag, a hospital stay bag and baby's bag. Lots of plastic bags, nappies, wipes, undies, pads (sooo many pads!) breast pads, hairbrush, trackies and big tees. I packed books and stuff but didn't touch them!! Bub was just in a wondersuit and nappies, I used hospital blankets.

I was induced and during labour I didn't really use anything, except lipbalm and a water bottle. My labour partners (had mum and two sisters) did eat and take photos.

That's my two cents about hospital bags haha.

I had my GTT today, was not fun I ended up with a headache and felt woozy, I guess that isn't great :s I will find out hopefully tomorrow at my midwife appointment!
jmck82
Packing bags - haven't done so yet but have worked out I will have two bags - one for me and one for bub. We are going private and have to provide baby wipes (1 packet of nappies are given to us on admission) and bubs clothes. Parnters meals can be arranged if needed (for a fee of course). I'm not planning on packing the bags til I finish work and can wash the clothes etc. I've opted for the two bags cause the hospital warn against large suitcases and having room to store them.

PPL - had the chat with HR today and I asked them how the payment would be administered after July. They kept saying just to go through the government becasue they haven't sorted it out yet. What a mess it is going to be!

Eccentricty - I wasn't well after my GCT (threw up a few hours later) and the results came back perfect. I hope your results turn out good as well.

Eric is mine - the weather really is strange at the moment. It was cool in Bne over the weekend and now back up to 31/32 and like this for the rest of the week. Bring on the cooler weather. Could the swelling be due to the heat?

Has anyone got any tips for finding good breastfeeding singlets (12E here and growing!) I saw some in Kmart a while back but they only have contoured ones now and not big enough.

afm - Ob appointment went well. Test results all good. Bub is normal size etc etc. Funny thing is that the head is down, so what DH and I thought was a head is actually a bum. Now on to fornightly appointments so it is all getting very exciting. eexcite.gif
eric is mine!
jmck82: You could try the bonds ones? Not sure what size they go up to. Also Target have some ones in the bra section not the maternity section that I think go up a little bigger.
It could be the heat causing my swelling, but I have been getting it on and off for about 3 weeks. It is worse in the heat but it is still there even when it is cooler.

Hospital bags: Haven't even thought about it all! Need to go and stock up on Maternity Pads. Won't have to take any nappies or clothes for Baby, except the going home clothes.
I want to get a few yoga type pants for hospital, that way I'm not in my PJs all day but I'm still really comfy. original.gif

DD is still awake. Apparently the poo is coming. I think it is a diversion to get her out of bed. She is so damn cute though... I just want to cuddle her. original.gif
eccentricity
Hi ladies,
Sorry I just need somewhere to vent!

While I have been sick my partner has been telling me oh don't worry about housework/washing etc you are sick and pregnant and have to take care of Lilah...
Well today I am feeling better so went to put a load of washing on and I found out he really meant 'don't worry about it... You can just do it all when you feel better' this means when he stripped my dayghter's bed after she threw up he didn't put the sheets etc in the wash oh no he just bundled them up in the laundry... He has not done 1 load the whole time I have been sick! Nor has he wiped down the kitchen bench or anything sick.gif Its so bad the whole house smells... I hadn't really noticed cox I was feeling so unwell... Now I am just p*ssed off!
Yes he does work full time but it's not that hard to basically keep the house liveable for a few minutes a day. I am livid I have to spend so much time cleaning today... The whole day probably except for my midwife appointment.

All I can say now is that if the house is this messy when I get home after having bub well he can just forget about me ever being nice again!!!
justthinking1
Morning everyone!

Hospital bags - Oh my goodness, you ladies are making me panic at our lack of organisation! I hadn't even thought that far ahead! I haven't even got nappies/breast pads/nursing tops etc to put in a bag! I said to my DH last night that some of you had bags packed etc, and he just kinda shrugged (and then asked if they worked... rolleyes.gif ). I was trying to get him to realise we need to do things! ARGH!!! Totally not the response I wanted and I got a bit stroppy! We haven't even got the room set up! We have the pieces of furniture, but that's it! He's far to relaxed sometimes!

GCT/GTT - Eccentricity - hope your results are good. I should find mine out this afternoon so fingers crossed for us both!

AFM - As I mentioned, Dr appointment for me this afternoon. So I'll get my GTT/GCT (whichever is the first one....) results. For the first time out of all of the tests I'm actually concerned this one wont come back well. But I see those in the DIG that have GD seem to be dealing with it so well, and that makes me feel better. But with a husband the size of mine, the last thing I need is GD to help this bubba grow big!

Also, for the experienced mummas out there... I went through all of the hand-me-down clothing the other day and sorted it into sizes. There isn't any 0000 or 00000's. I was wondering if I will need any 0000's.... Obviously depends on the size of the bubba, but would you mind telling me of your experiences? How big were your bubs when born, and did you need 0000's? For how long?

Grrr - my DH has to load a truck with sheep this afternoon, he will be VERY lucky to make the Dr appointment, if all goes exactly to plan and the truck arrives exactly on time (which NEVER happens). I know not many partners go to every appointment, but our Dr has an ultrasound in his office and DH missed the last one, and i actually have some questions for him this time that I wouldn't mind DH hearing the answers too as well. sad.gif

Anyways..... best get some work done. Will be checking in!

JT.

ETA - Eccentricity - OH dear! Sorry to hear your DP didn't keep up with the washing. Particularly after a bout of gastro! I hope you're at least feeling a bit better.
honeydew

Eccentricity - I hear ya. How irritating. And inconsiderate. And frustrating. I am having moments myself these days where I sometimes think it would be easier on my own. But of course it wouldn't be, and I do love DP.... I am just getting increasingly frustrated about the "thought" and activity load that is falling on me. Grr.

JT - Don't worry, I don't even have the furniture yet! Certainly no bags packed and same - I neither have the bags nor the stuff to put in them. I'm taking a couple of days off in April to gather stuff and then at Easter I will package things up. I'll be around 34 weeks then so hopefully that's enough in advance.

Good luck with the GCT results today - and I hope DH makes it to the appointment.
honeydew
Double post - computer went weird.
macdolby
morning everyone!

eccentricity - ah! sounds like my husband... 'don't worry about anything, i'll take care of it' doesnt mean the same thing in 'man speak' - my DH will do laundry alright, just as long as its his stuff... i guess the only consolation is that you will know it was done right if you do it wink.gif

jt1 - good luck today for your appt - hope you get answers to your questions - a shame your DP cant attend with you.

AFM - ah, baby is sitting high again today, restricting my breathing, lots of poking limbs etc so a fair bit uncomfortable.

I just made an appt for a 3D/4D ultrasound for 4 April (somehow need to squeeze in an appt at docs for a referral between now and then) - it was DH's idea as he seems to all of a sudden be really interested and excited about the baby (he always has been a little bit but more than he has been anyway to date). I'll be 32 weeks by then, hope we get some good photos (and everything is ok!). Exciting.

ok, i've been typing this out for so long its now the afternoon rolleyes.gif

eccentricity
Well I don't have gestational diabetes! My results where really good actually which makes me happy! Blood
Pressure etc is perfect (midwife always seems surprised because I am a fatty haha) bub is just looking like a big one! Maybe this means she will come a bit early? That would be nice!

Also, I am passed the initial anger so I am not going to throw my partner out lol but he has some serious groveling to do!!

Macdolby yup looking at the clothes horse his work stuff and undies and socks are all as clean as!!
jmck82
Eccentricity -I am glad your results came back positive and your stress levels have reduced. I find a good rant always helps!

jt1 - I panicked as well. Was planning on doing it all after finishing work, but then realised the bags should be packed by then! My sister gave me some 0000 stuff - my niece was 7 lb and she was in 0000 for at least a month I think. Also the sizes vary. I know that the bonds wondersuits are small for their size and pumpkin patch clothing is big. The tip the midwife at the hospital gave me was to compare the clothing with the size of your hands.

Macdolby - are they checking for anything at your 32 wk scan or is it just to get the 3D/4D images etc and have another look at your beautiful bub?
snowkat
JT – I hope your tummy is feeling better!

Macdolby – Good luck with the nits and smell! Your right Yuck!!! Just remembered that we had a wombat die under our house a few years ago and it took us ages to figure out what it was. We ended up filling it’s hole with rocks to stop the smell cos it would have taken ages for it to go away naturally.

FTM – Your poor boobs, that doesn’t sound very good. I can’t answer your questions sorry!!! You are going to put the rest of us to shame!!! I can’t believe your bags are backed already!!! I don’t even have half the stuff you listed. You’re amazing, and about the downs risk, you don’t have to be sorry about talking about that on here, we are happy to listen. Also, by the sounds of things if you do have a baby with Downs, you will be an amazing mother to him/her!!!

Eccentricity – I hear ya, men just don’t get it. Last night my DH ‘helped” me unpack the shopping by unloading everything on to the kitchen table, how is that helping? The bags were sitting on the kitchen table anyway! I said to him “don’t try to tell me you don’t know where the chocolate lives???”

Packing bags – Haven’t really thought about this yet, I guess that is something I should start thinking about soon. Does anyone know if this is something that is discussed in the Huff & Puff classes???

AFM – Interviewing applicants for my job today and tomorrow. I am nervous, but we have got great applicants, so I have nothing to worry about!!!

Thanks to all of you for your support re the baby shower thing. I am over it now, I think I slightly over reacted and I’m sure it will be fine. Ahh pregnancy hormones, such fun!!!

Forgot to mention the other day, but we went to a 1st Birthday party over the weekend not far from us and there where so many kids and babies there. It was really great to see that there are so many young families around our area and lots of nice mums and dads to hang out with.

Baby had hiccups yesterday, but I felt them down very low almost in my pelvis, I think maybe baby has done a 180!!! Seems a bit early, but that’s ok, he still might do another full 360 yet???

justthinking1
Snowcat - My sister's first baby was head down from 20 weeks, and didn't make her arrival until after induction at 14 days overdue, so I don't think head down means all that much. I can't wait to see which way my bub is this afternoon!

Baby sizes - GRRR... It seems the sizes for baby/kids clothes are the same as women's - a 000 in one brand isn't the same as a 000 in another, which is almost exactly the same as a 00 in another brand and so on! So frustrating! blink.gif My nieces were all over 8 lbs and 51+cm long, and my sister said they "weren't in 0000's much at all".

YAY I just had an eyebrow wax, facial & a manicure! Except I got a bit dizzy & weird lying down on the table on my back, and started sweating & felt very strange. I had to ask the beautician to stop so I could sit up for a minute! Poor beautician (who knows me) was saying "please, don't pass out on me!!" LOL. I felt fine after I sat up for a bit. Strange!

Boooo I just noticed I rubbed two of my nails when I put my seatbelt on in the car rant.gif Don't you hate that!!!!

hello

jmck82 scan - no not for anything in particular, DH just suggested it, I think he wants to see his no.2 child. But they call it a growth and wellbeing scan so they do check for placenta condition location etc and on any fibroids (yes thats me) and I also have a dermoid cyst so they'll check on that too and other stuff as well as give you a facial shot or two. My luck baby will decide to flip over and we wont get a good shot! He/she has been posterior all of this time... but, we shall see, it'll just be nice to get some more photos, perhaps check for things they can't see at the 19 week scan. Hoping all is ok.

jt1 - re 0000s - I agree about the sizing for bonds vs pumpkin patch - DD was 7.05pd (3.2kg) so was in hers for about 6 weeks plus so we got some use out of them. lucky you for getting some DIY done!

snowkat - ah yeh, not looking forward to opening that door today when I get home - its been 30 deg here today... really good for decomposition! I was hoping DH would be home before me to open up the house... if I didnt have to get to work these next 2 days and DD childcare I'd suggest that I go and stay at my brother's house... but he's 30 mins away and the morning co-ordination would be a nightmare!

eccentricity - congrats on passing your GD test! such a relief to have one less thing to worry about. love the comment about the clothing on the clothes horse, surprise surprise!

Speaking of DIY - I can't see over my belly anymore... and getting my knees up to cut my toenails is getting difficult... not so good when they're growing so quickly either. Shaving legs is a bit hit and miss these days too original.gif

Well gotta go, bbl after I'm in my stinky house.

geckogirl
Eccentricity: That would drive me up the wall as well. He definitely needs to do some groveling. But good news about your GTT results!

jt1: Could your dizziness be that issue where we're not supposed to lie on our backs too much late in pregnancy? I found this article which may explain what you were experiencing:

If you lie flat on your back for a few minutes or more during the later months of the pregnancy (after about 24 to 28 weeks of pregnancy), you may start to feel light-headed, dizzy and possibly breathless. This does not happen to every pregnant woman. However, if it does it is because your growing baby is making your uterus heavy, and is placing pressure on one of your major blood vessels called the 'vena cava'. The vena cava lies on the right side of your body. During pregnancy your enlarged uterus also naturally leans towards your right side (as it moves up and out of the pelvis after 12 weeks). This can make the vena cava blood vessel prone to becoming compressed while lying on your back

Also, you're not the only one who doesn't have the nursery set up. And I can't start till after Easter. I have the office full of boxes waiting to be unpacked and set up in the nursery plus bags of clothes and stuff with no-where to put them. And then DH suddenly decides he wants to paint the nursery after all, which can't be done until after our friend leaves at Easter! So, I can just see myself not being able to set anything up until 2 weeks before the birth and then the baby arrives early! Definitely, ARRGGGH!

Macdolby: I really feel for you regarding the smell. I hope it doesn't last too long.

Speaking of DIY: I saw an article where they reckon about 29/30 weeks is when you should get your legs shaved, toenails clipped etc for the birth presumably because this is the last time you can reach your nether regions by yourself. But there's no way my legs will stay good until birth so what's the point in saying that? Even waxing won't keep it good for the next 8-10 weeks. I have visions of somehow getting DH to shave my legs after I go into labour so I don't have to be embarrassed at the hospital. Silly stuff. rolleyes.gif

Packing bags: Haven't started yet. I've checked out hospital bag lists on the internet and they just seem huge! I can't believe I'll need all that stuff. And if I did take it all I reckon it would take about 3 suitcases. I checked with the midwife this week and they said that this is all covered in the "pregnancy to parenting" classes we start next week at the hospital. They actually have an example hospital bag and go through all the stuff in it. So I think I'll wait for that before deciding what to pack.

Sizes: I've just bought a few outfits in sizes from 0000 to 1 so I figure I've got it covered. If its too big, well, they'll just grow into it. But I have limited the number of 0000 sizes I bought. I reckon its more likely they'll only be that size for a week or two at most.

That's it from me. DH just arrived home and we have to sort out dinner.
eric is mine!
I just can't believe we're at the stage of talking about packing hospital bags!
It's crazy isn't it???

Our EDD's are going to be here before we know it...

I'm freaking out a little about how quickly the baby's are going to be here! lol.
first_time_mummy
Hi all

macdolby - i think your pics will be the best due to you being so far along... they wouldnt let me get my 4D done anytime after 30 weeks so you are very lucky, the later the better i recon!!

gecko girl - DIY - omg how funny i am the same, i can not cut my toenails or paint them or anything like that to my feet however... TMI moment... DP helped me 'trim the hedges' as i am way to scared to get any waxing done while pregnant! isnt he lovely and aint I trusting hahaha but it has to be done and what other options do I have then asking him to kneel in the shower and clean me up!!

snowkat - dont you love that feeling seeing other mums with there babies? I love going to parties and bbq's - i seem to get extra attention and love watching the other mums haha but sometimes would like to be as laid back at the boys who seem to leave it all to the mums and just continue to enjoy there food without having to chase after there kids... guess i will have to see how DF will be in this instance one bub arrives!!
Also can you pretty please attempt to describe to me what hiccups feel like? I have been feeling these crazy 'shudder' like movements, almost like bub is shivering in my belly or having a crazy fit...???

Impatient - anyone else starting to feel this way?? i love being pregnant but I just want it to happen already!! Silly me youtubed 'vaginal birth' and watched an episiotomy OMG I HAVE BEEN SUPER SCARED EVER SINCE!!!! That poor woman but she seemed fine! Tougher than me thats for sure!

Forgetting bump - Does anyone else 'forget' how big belly bump is and constantly open doors into it or try to get into places i clearly wont fit? I wake up and sometimes get a real shock when i look in my mirror at this belly just sitting there!

AFM - I really need a boys name so I am going on a boys name rampage!!! Watch this space incase I have found anything!
original.gif
eccentricity
Ftm: I'm no help, before we knew the sex I let dp pick the boys name, I just couldn't find any that jumped out at me. He chose Angus James, which I ended up actually loving!
first_time_mummy
ohhh and BTW got my boobs all fixed up!!
Went to the chemist today and told them my symptoms and got some canestine antifungal cream... wish i went sooner i was just too embarrased to talk to a doc about them!
justthinking1
Morning everyone!

FTM: Hmm, what I'm assuming is the baby hiccuping feels a bit like small kicks, but less centralised in one spot. Also rythmic and repeated. Good luck with the boys name hunt! Do you have a "style" in mind? Also, please try not to stress about birth. I know someone who's had an epiostomy and she said she didn't feel any more pain when they did it. She said the stitching hurt but you can have a local for that I think. Also, you most likely wont need one!

eric-is-mine - I KNOW! I'm seriously getting worried about the lack of organisation, and just how real everything is now. I can't believe we're into fortnightly appointments now! OMG!! Also did you get to see someone about how you've been feeling? Are you feeling any better?

Geckogirl - Yep, I think that's exactly what happened! I didn't think it would affect me because there was a little angle on the bed. I had read in Up the Duff that if there was greater than 10 degrees slope it was OK. But NO! Definitely not doing that again! I've never fainted or anything in my life so it was a very strange feeling!

Macdolby - Hope that smells dissappearing!

AFM - Well, my Dr appointment couldn't have gone better yesterday! For once he wasn't late (not that it worries me tooooo much), and my GTT results were great! I was sooooo relieved. My Dad is type 2 diabetic and I'm a bit overweight so I was pretty worried! YAY YAY YAY! And my other blood work came back really good AND bubby is measuring bang on 28 weeks. I'm so relieved! I'm so worried bubby is going to take after DH in size... he was over 11lbs (he's 6'5" and very muscular build)!

And I asked my Dr about the ripping/tearing pain (knowing the answer, but just to be sure) and he said that it was the smooth ligaments, and that the uterus is only attached at the bottom so (and I quote) "it's a bit like holding a balloon full of water at the bottom and trying to keep it upright". So it puts a lot of pressure on the ligaments down there and can pull at them when you move in certain ways. Didn't have any ways to avoid this - just said it's OK and it's not anything bad. Just hurts! Yeouch!

OK enough about me.... Will be around during the day!

JT
macdolby
morning! (arrgh, feels like its going to be a long day - not even 10.30am yet!)

jt1 - so glad your appt went well and you got an answer re the tearing (i also get this at times, good to know its nothing to be worried about).

FTM: re baby hiccuping, I think it feels like a little rythmic/regular 'bump' (I know, that makes no sense whatsoever) and I usually find its localised to the one area and goes on for a few minutes uninterrupted. I'm not even going there with the episiotomy stuff... I dont want to know cool.gif

eric-is-mine - hope you're feeling a little better emotionally and the nursery is coming along!

AFM - the smell was actually a lot better yesterday til I put the dishwasher on... so I think we know now where its located. Either in or under the dishwasher... I handwashed the cups etc this morning.... I really think I need to get the pest guys out ASAP!

Pretty tired this morning. DH got back yesterday and he tends to stay awake til 11pm so I dont get to go to sleep (unless I'm so exhausted that I pass out with the light on) til then. Up at about 6.15am with the alarm - can't wait til I dont have to do that! Seriously counting down my work days - only 3 more 'full' weeks to go plus a couple of shorter ones - 13 more actual days.

Bubs was poking out just left of my belly button most of yesterday - couldnt work out if it was a knee or a foot or fist etc but it was pretty solid and a little bit uncomfortable.

Have a great day everyone, I think I'll go and make a cup of tea - anything to kill some time.
Mrs Miller
Maintenance - When I found out I was pg I asked my husband will he shave my legs when I can't anymore and he said "of course sweetheart". Well I'm struggling with shaving my legs and the last time I 'trimmed the hedges' I cut myself coz I just can't see. I asked my husband to help and he looked at me like I was nuts. He can't remember promising he'd help! Just like a man, it's easy to say yes when it's something he doesn't have to think of for a few months.... I have started rubbing my legs against his in bed lol.

Forgetting Bump - Yes and especially when someone parks too close to my car and I can't get in!!!!! That makes me so angry!!!! I do find myself trying to squeeze through gaps and I get stuck... I enjoy looking in the mirror (when I have clothes on) these days but I don't know how I'll feel if I get much bigger.

Impatience - Yes & No. I want everything ready to go. I need to get the carseat, hospital bag stuff, pick up a layby with the clothes, I'd like a few bottles and breastpump (though I may hold onto money for the breastpump till after the birth and send my husband for it), and I need a monitor. And it will all need to be collected as we get paid buying one thing at a time. So I know I wont feel ready till I have all that stuff and I know I wont have it for weeks!!!! Also I want the whole nesting bug to kick in so I can spring clean my house as I'm due for a rent inspection april/may and I wasnt to impress as they dont know I'm pregnant and I'm worried they'll want us out (don't know why, we've been there 4 yrs and the owners have always been fairly happy with us). I'm thinking that loooong weekend over easter will be a good time to clean as my husband has to work through it and I'll be undisturbed. So basically I just wish my house was spotless and I had everything set up/or packed depending on what it is - ready to go. I'm sooooo excited to meet my baby, though still terrified of labour.

Have a good day everyone!
purple_daisy
Hi ladies!

Hospital bags - we have had ours packed for about 2 weeks and in the bottom of our wardrobe. I packed a larger bag (like a big overnight one) for myself with labour clothes, pads, pjs, underwear etc then the nappy bag is packed with some clothes for bub, wipes, sudocream, blanket etc. Even though we are getting better and better chances of going to term (I'll explain below) I still feel so on edge about this pregnancy that we wanted to be prepared early - and I do feel good knowing the bags are ready for us if any surprises happen. DH also bought a tarp that we will put out this weekend between the bed and the ensuite to protect our brand new carpet hehehe.

Breastfeeding tops - I can't remember who mentioned the KMart ones. I don't recommend them. I bought two size 18s with the built in bra, seeing as I'm really only a 14-16 I thought this would be nice and roomy. Well, the outer singlet is stretchy and great but the inbuilt bra is ridiculously small so it looks like I'm Pamela Anderson and is very uncomfortable to wear. I think I will wait a bit closer to the date and pay more for better quality ones that fit right.

Lying on your back - Justthinking the same thing happened to me at the MRI. I had to lie on my back for nearly an hour and I became just so woosy, sweat broke out on my forehead and I felt like I would pass out. It was horrible. Yet strangley I turn onto my back when sleeping and it isn't a problem...

AFM bub turned head down this week just in time for our scan which was very exciting but last night she turned horizontal again because I woke up to a head sticking out one side of my belly and feet kicking the other. She must be getting cramped in there.

Thought I would share a 4D pic. The ladies working at the specialist centre where I go for all my appointments gave it to me as a celebration of the positive MRI results. Bub's eye looks a little strange because it was pressing against the uterus, but the rest is really clear and this one shows her sucking her thumb. She definitely has my nose and chin and DH's shape around the eyes/forehead.

So at our appointment this week the OB said that he is so pleased with our baby's progress that he thinks we can drop down to fortnightly visits now, AND assuming my blood pressure and anxiety stay under control, he is happy to delay the induction till term and possibly even let us try to go into labour naturally biggrin.gif . They still have to watch the placenta incase it starts to fail, but he said it is not showing any signs of deteriorating and he thinks we have great chances of going to term. At first I was a bit sad as I had been counting down to a 37 week induction, but since reading more about the chances of a c-section after early induction and how intense inductions can be, I am feeling quite hopeful that I might be able to do things on my own.

The scary thing is the OB said he was fairly sure after the baby is born he will need to manually remove the placenta and Adelaide. Basically this means putting his hand up my privates and surgically removing it. i'm nervous about this but at least bub will be out and safe by then, and I'll be drugged to the eyeballs for the procedure.

Anyhow hope you all have a good rest of the arvo!
eric is mine!
Just a quick little post from me today. I've been cleaning and moving stuff around the house like a crazy lady all day.
I am totally exhausted. But I am feeling like we are almost there in terms of getting the house ready for Babu Girl.
I did a cull on our toys, I hate getting rid of things like that, but we have SO many. Realistically we don't need any more toys for either child. But I'm sure we will be inundated with toys come Baby Girl's 1st Birthday! lol. And also at DD1's 3rd birthday in May.
I have moved all the toys (except for a rocking horse and a box of newborn/small baby toys) out to our back room (which has the tv and DD1's table for drawing as well as the study off it) so that means we will have a "formal" entertaining room that *should* stay relatively clean. The front loungeroom is one that the front door opens on to, so I would like to be able to keep that tidy for guests.

Maintenance: I can still shave my legs. I shave them standing up in the shower (our shower is over the bath, so I have a ledge at a perfect height to pop my foot on. I can also maintain downstairs too, but then I don't wax or shave it. I wouldn't been keen on shaving without being able to see. I was able to continue doing this til 40 weeks last pregnancy. I could still paint my toes it i wanted to... But it wouldn't be comfy! lol

Forgetting bump: Totally do it too. It is so annoying. Usually when I am closing the car door after buckling DD1 in. And damn it hurts! I've popped out again. I'll have to take a photo later and post it. My belly is pretty huge now! original.gif

Organisation: Because we are having another girl in the same season as my first, really we didn't need much. There are a few things I would really like but they aren't necessities. My Mum has said she will buy me a baby monitor which is awesome. I found the one I wanted too. But in terms of clothes, bunny rugs etc etc I don't need anything more.

macdolby You poor thing with that smell. Gross. I think we had one die somewhere in our kitchen at the beginning of summer. I cleaned EVERYTHING out and couldn't find it. But there was a horrible stench for about 4-5 days. Gross.

justthinking1 I am terrified of tearing/episiotomy if I try for a VBAC. I mean I was in pain with my C/S scar, but at least I could go to the bathroom without being in pain! lol. My sister didn't tear, she had a tiny graze that didn't even need stitches. Also my best friend has had 2 babies and with both she didn't tear either. So it can be done.

first_time_mummy I'm glad you have your boobs all fixed up. Must have been really annoying and horrible to have itchy boobs for that long! I'm always hesitant to go to the Dr about personal things like that too. I don't want to be embarrassed.
Oh and on names we had a boys name all picked out since DD1 was still in my tummy. I find girls names MUCH harder. I think I could name a football team of boys... But girls, damn they are hard! lol

I'd better get going... I still have some things to get done before we have people over tonight. At least the house isn't going to be looking like a bomb has hit this week unlike last week! original.gif

Hope you all have a great afternoon!

ETA:
purple_daisy: Your baby girl is so cute! That is a lovely photo! Look at her nose! So cute.
I'm sure they will give you loads of drugs for the manual removal of the placenta and Adelaide. Hopefully it will be pain free for you. If you have an epidural during labour it will at least mean you won't feel any of that happening too.
I think having a labour bag and a baby bag is a good idea. I only had one bag last time and it was so hard to find anything in there cause I had it packed for 4-5 days. Having a labour bag and a hospital bag makes alot of sense! original.gif

Hi all just a quick bit from me. If anyone would like to please feel free to add me on Facebook (Sophia Weaver) or if anyone is in Melbourne I would love to catch up for coffee original.gif

Back later for personals.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for being MIA over the past few weeks. We've had no phone or internet (thank you Telstra) and I've just lodged a complaint to the TIO about them!! Thankfully I recharged our prepaid stick this week so I'm able to get online and briefly catch up! (Good thing my mobile - NOT with Telstra - has Facebook access LOL).

Everything is going along well here.

For those that don't know, my GCT came back within normal range so I don't have GD. I'm still taking iron though and it's definitely not helping the constipation at all!

I have my next Ob appt on April 8th and that's when my Ob will do my growth scan. (All along I've thought he meant he'll refer me for a 3rd trimester scan but no he does it himself. I get a pic each time he checks Bump but I was looking forward to a complete scan with a 3D pic).

Naming game hasn't changed a lot. We're still drawn at Hayley, Emma and Mya(h). (undecided on spelling but I'm getting lots of positive responses to both ways). Middle names are yet to be decided.

Can't believe I'm at 30wks tomorrow! It's gone by so quickly!!!!! The home stretch countdown is on!! I have another 8 wks of work left (yes I am insane). I toyed with the idea of staying those extra 2 wks til I'm due and then slapped myself and told myself to wake up! LOL

Welcome to all the newbies I may have missed original.gif And I hope everyone is doing well. I'll try to catch up a bit more now my prepaid net is working for me original.gif
KYMICHELLE
Hi everyone,

Just a quick update regarding my GD. I had my first appointment with the diabetes educator today and she was brilliant. I wasn't due to go in until next week - which I thought was too late as I was diagnosed last week - and she thought the same so now I have a glucose monitor and am monitoring myself from a finger prick test 4 times daily. It is such a relief to be able to control it now and to have a plan of action. I see it as a very important "wake-up" call for me and intend to make the most of looking after myself. I have been exercising pretty well since becoming pregnant (swimming, walking and an aqua class) but eat too much, and too much of the wrong things. At my age - 41 - and having had 2 big babies, and a family history, it was almost inevitable that I would get GD so no shock. Having said all that - it is only day 1 and I hope I can stick to it and end this pregnancy with a very healthy baby, and a healthier me. For anyone about to do the GCT or CTT, or waiting for results, it's not bad at all (and I used to hate the finger prick test when donating blood!), and can be a good thing - at least we know and can do something about it not like in our Mother's day's when they didn't have all these tests.

Sorry - waffling.

Take care everyone and hopefully see you on facebook

elmo77
Hospital bag - Whoa!! The time to think about this feels like it's come around very fast! blink.gif Might see if I can find a suitable bag over the weekend, just to start thinking about it...or maybe will have to treat myself to a nice new bag for the occasion - only really have a suitcase, huge volleyball bag or backpacks to choose from.

Maintenance - still managing to shave my legs (am due for a clean-up this weekend!), but just have to stretch a bit further round the bump now. Tried sitting in the bath to do it and was not at all comfy...was okay being able to stand though and use the edge to prop leg up on, but think I'll stick to the shower. Just have to remember not to stand up too quickly...or be bent over too long - gets a bit woosy feeling otherwise!

Birth classes - Starting our 5 week course on Tuesday next week - biggrin.gif But...DH is going away for work Sun to Wed so he's going to miss the first one - sad.gif The person who organises the classes said that as long as he can come to the following four it'll be fine, as they're the important ones...but this first one is for birth partners to work on back rubs and helping to relax and find a good position for labour...seems like it would be important in my books! tongue.gif Am going to ask my friend who had her baby at the same hospital if she can come with me...at least she'll know where I need to go (plus we can have a giggle together wink.gif )

Laying on my back - I'm finding it now a bit uncomfortable to do this much as things seem to be putting pressure on not good places...every now and then I do roll onto my back during the night, as my hips both get sore and just need a break, but not for long. I find across my shoulders has been getting a bit tight too and it helps a bit with that if I just relax for a few minutes on my back, then roll with my pillows. The last few nights I've needed to get up and stretch (especially by leaning forward over the edge of the bed) as "someone" has discovered a liking for lying in my ribs cage at a most uncomfortable angle...with who knows what bits and pieces randomly poking me! I find if I get up and stretch around a bit, he moves in a better spot so that I can get back to sleep.

Bumping the bump - I do this all the time too...walking past the kids desks now they instinctively duck their heads forward when they see me and the bump coming their way (not much room in our classroom). I also forget it a lot when I need to get through past tables/chairs in the staffroom. Can't suck it in at all anymore!

Baby hiccups - I had them today at recess time. It's such a cute feeling...this softer rhythmic beat in the same spot (which can be anywhere around the bump!), for a few minutes or so. Kind of helps to "locate" what bits might be where at the time original.gif

Purple daisy - gorgeous picture and yay for the good news from the doctor - about the appointments going fortnightly, being able to maybe go to term and going into labour naturally. As for the not so nice things...try not to stress, I'm sure they will make you as comfortable as possible for whatever is needed original.gif

Macdolby - as least you've pinpointed the smell place...that's half the battle sometimes. Hope it goes soon for you wacko.gif

Eric is mine - wow! What a clean up you've had...there is definitely a satisfaction in getting things sorted and how you want them to be biggrin.gif

Maternity singlets/pajamas - I have a bit of an issue with the boob size allowance with these sorts of things too. Not being a "little" girl, I tend to go size 18...however have been a bit disappointed with some things I've tried/gotten that fit in some ways but when it comes to the "girls" there's not enough room! I got a nice pair of PJs from Big W - the pants fit really well (a little big still at the moment) but the top is a different story. It fits fine till I have to put boobs into place and then I look like I'm literally busting out (it has a snap button bit on the front for breastfeeding that looks decidedly "full" when I put the top on). Might have to treat myself here to and find the only other "proper" maternity clothes shop in Canberra now left and splurge a little. Not sure I want to be visited in the hospital by anyone while I'm looking like that! blink.gif

AFM - DH and I had a coupon for discount tickets at the Premium Lounge tonight so we had ourselves a treat biggrin.gif Went into the city, had some ice cream for afternoon tea (yeah Hokey Pokey!), and then had some nibbles in the movies while we reclined on our comfy seats. We watched "Limitless" - it was really good...perfect length for pregnant women really...not long enough that I felt I was going to doze off and just long enough in between needing a wee stop rolleyes.gif

As I mentioned on FB I found out yesterday that I passed the GTT - yay!

Realised yesterday too that while I was really excited to be at 10 (or so) weeks to go, I only have about 5 weeks left with my class. Having known them now for at least a bit more than a year (and most for the last 3 and a bit years), it will be sad to say goodbye to them. As much as they exhaust me, I have fun with them everyday (well, nearly all of them, nearly every day tongue.gif ) It's going to be weird not going to work every day and seeing them...but I know that I will have someone even more fun that I get to see every day very soon (who will most certainly exhaust me more than they can I imagine!)

Happy Friday everyone waves.gif
ames_78
Just a quick one before bed

PurpleDaisy - I had to have my placenta manually removed with DS as it was stuck. I'd had an epidural during the labour, then an episotomy (and NO WAY would i want to see that on You Tube! whoever that was in this group I can't believe you were game enough to watch!) as DS was removed with forceps (I had 2 hours of just pushing before this). Anyway after delivery my placenta just wouldn't come out so off to surgery I went - had a top up of the epidural and honestly can't remember the manual removal part. All I really remember is having a screen between me and what was going on (thank goodness!). Honestly at the end of the day I was just happy to have avoided a C-section.
Hope that helps. And your pic is gorgeous, can't wait to see bub again at my 32w scan.

macdolby
good morning everyone - happy friday!

purple daisy - wow, that is such wonderful news on all fronts (and great shot of your baby girl) - it amazing what a little fighter you have there.

elmo - you sound like you really care about your students, I hope my kids get as dedicated a teacher as you when the time comes. Sounds like you enjoyed your night out last night - good on you for making the effort.

forgetting bump - yep, all of the time! getting in and out of the car, squeezing through/around things etc - I also forget I just can't suck in anymore. Funny thing is though that I just walked along a rather wide corridor and 2 guys gave me the widest berth possible - I was thinking - 'geez, am I that fat now'??

Maintenance - I got a voucher for our anniversary so I'm going to get a pedicure in May with that so that'll sort that lot out at the most difficult time. I think I may need to climb into the bath this weekend though and do my legs etc... DH has offered if worst comes to worst happy.gif

maternity bras etc - I've bought another 2 bras a week or so ago so in total I'll have bought 5 new ones but they were super cheap and quite pretty. I havent bought any singlets just yet, I know I have a black Bonds one from DD somewhere if I can locate it otherwise I'll grab some more. I havent worked out yet what to wear in hospital after birth though yet. A shirt maybe? Plus its going to be winter so not sure how that is going to affect all of this, DD was a summer baby so basically walked around in my bra for the first couple of months.

The smell - still there but perhaps not as strong today... DH is away from 4th to 18th so I think I'm just going to get the pest guys in and be done with it - he keeps telling me 'they're gone now, dont worry about it' but they were getting in somewhere and once the warning stench disappears they can just as likely come back sad.gif I'm just not happy with the situation and in reality, we're not poor to have to put up with either rats or dead rat smells.

AFM - Bubs has been grooving this morning a fair bit and last night while reading DD a story his/her little knee or elbow was again poking out rock hard by my belly button and DD put her hand on and got an almighty kick, the pure delight on her face was wonderful, she's only really felt little bumps nothing like this. She got kicked a few times and kept saying 'did you feel that mummy?' - very cute. Though this morning she was v clingy with me and when she wouldnt give her Daddy a kiss goodbye in the car and he came around to me she said 'dont kiss Tumpty' Daddy. My poor little girl is really going to feel the intrusion in her life.

Busy-ish weekend for us, another birthday party to go to, swimming lessons etc, pick up my ebay win and some tidying around the house before we head to NZ first thing Monday morning. I like to leave the house tidy (DH reckons so the burglars have a nice experience) but I dont want to have to come back to 'work'.

Will bbl to check in, have a great day everyone!

Ahhhhhhhh I just lost my post!!! Lets see if I remember...

Forgetting bump - I run into things sometimes. I wake up in the morning feeling "normal", but it doesn't take long for a wack from bubs to bring me back to reality.

Maintenance - Pedicure definitely when I finish work. I usually wax my legs myself, so I am trying to work our the timing. I think if I do it now and again about 37 weeks (assuming I can reach - otherwise DH might have to do it) my legs should be respectable.

Carrie B - we had problems with Telstra as well. If I could change providers and still get all the services on the one bill I would.

afm - We had a practice trip to the hospital during the week. Persistent lower abdominal pains that wouldn't go away and were coming and going, but never disappearing. My ob was at the hospital anyway so that worked out well. He put it down to braxton hicks and a growing baby putting pressure on the uterus. This bub has definitely gone through a growth spurt - the movements are a lot stronger (ouchie) and a lot higher as well.

Braxton hicks - are they supposed to hurt? I didn't think so, and I find it hard to distinguish between really uncomfortable pressure and pain. I guess it will be easy when they are real!

Hey everyone....

Well done with the GTT results, i only did mine two days ago at the beginning of my mid wife appointment i drank the drink and about 40 mins later when she was doing a physical assessment bubs was all hyped up and kicking, and belting the doppler, couldn't help but laugh....

Macdolby- great shot, i'm carrying quite similar to you actually.... and regarding the baby and grooving to music i am sooo amused by this, I went to watch my mum in a latin aerobics class and the bump took on a life of its own!!! very funny.

KYMICHELLE I like your attitude about your GD, its great that we are in a country that can detect these things and lower risks for our selves and our babies, with management strategies in place that we can deal with and feel confident with.

Purple daisy thanks for sharing your precious pic, yes its incredible that we can pic out the features of our bubbas, i love it.

Forgetting bump- oh i am constantly, the other day went for coffee with mum who shimmied into the middle of a cafe to an available table, only to have me skirting around the edges so as not to bulldoze customers that are all making it "impassable" for me.

AFM- i still don't have an actual due date, the buck just keeps on being passed but anyway, the head honcho of some hospital division is dealing with me on wednesday which will be nice..... basically the least i am is 30 weeks and the most is 35, according to size and stats, i'm not all that concerned though, i figure it will come in May or June.... i am hoping for June though, and i know most girls probably would be ecstatic to get weeks chopped off their sentence... but we have lodged a second visa application to try and get my partner here for the birth, i have 3 more weeks to wait for the answer, and try to prepare myself in case its not the one i want.... i have been VERY emotional about this lately, dealing with the fact i really could be on my own, i mean i have a close girlfriend who i have asked to be with me in the case immigration refuses us but that is ssoooooo not ideal. I left costa rica just over a month ago, and every day we talk and usually my partner is sooo positive, but today it was different he was sad, really sad, and i just couldn't lift his spirits, its all i can think of.....i am so scared immigration will say no,and i have destroyed this bond between a young father and his son by leaving... i had to come back here though, for the medical system, for the financial support, would he ever forgive me??? if he can't come, and decides to move on with his life.... if he can't come, the soonest i could get to Costa Rica would be christmas....maybe. I'm so stressed about this, that this babies whole life could be so significantly changed by this visa refusal.... oh i feel sick thinking about this. Had to do the whole medical history thing with my midwife the other day as it was actually my first consultation, in assessing me for depression with a questionaire she decided she could see i am a happy person generally, and happy about the pregnancy i could use some extra emotional support right now as i have "unique circumstances" to deal with..... how crap. i never thought i'd fall into that category....

Anyway thats enough venting, its sat night and i'm off to some pub trivia with my mum soon, she's a bit concerned about my loneliness, so anyway.... sorry about the not so uplifting post.... will be keen to read about all of your nice news tho.
first_time_mummy

hi all... just thought i would upload a belly pic taken tonight (29 weeks exactly hehe)

macdolby your bump is so pointy and gorgeous! You have great skin i feel all flabby and gross!

AFM sorry on the low ammount of personals i am exhausted... have been to an engagement party at our local pub and had to leave by about 10pm cuz it was getting soooo crowded and i was sick of dodging drunk people who would bump me or grab my belly aarrghhh i dont care when people ask to touch it (i rather like it) but when they are plastered and push on me hard and grab me i feel so uncomfortable! Spoilt my night out sad.gif

FTM- Not sure if it was you or someone else who asked about femur length a few weeks back but my latest scan said 58mm i believe and technically they dated me at 29 weeks and 1 day at the time
elmo77
Feeling a bit brave today (have managed to post this on FB too)...here's the bump today at 30+5 weeks...

FTM & Macdolby - your pics (as always) look great! tthumbs.gif

Ejala - I do hope everything works out for you and your partner...sorry it's causing you both such sadness and you such stress when you should be just being able to feel excited about you're baby coming soon. Hope you hear some good news this week! bbighug.gif

jmck82 - I've had BH a few times now...no I wouldn't describe it as "painless" - though at the same time not exactly "painful" either. It's never fun that's for sure, and after they're all finished (I usually get a bit of a run of them, only lasting a few minutes each, but they recur over about 10 minutes) I feel quite drained, as well as emotional. I've gotten them when I've been walking/on my feet a lot I think. Definitely a good time to practise breathing, as well as rubbing my bump along the sides seems to help. Sometimes also leaning over a bench and DH rubbing my back helps a lot too. If they're meant for practise for labour then I guess I'll know some of what I need to do to make myself feel better (as well as what DH needs to do for me!).

AFM - well, apparently my ribs are a very comfortable place to be! DH felt my right side up in my rib cage yesterday and I think he finally understood what I've been telling him about...there was a noticeable bulge on that side, it was quite hard and you could feel my ribs spaced out more than normal (the fact that I could feel my ribs through my usual fat layer was enough for me!). Think I've actually got some bruising in there from the pressure and poking, as whenever he gets up into my ribs, he picks the same spot and it is getting more sore and tender each time!! Not happy Little Mr! wacko.gif

Got the house to myself for the next 3 nights as DH is away for work...going to miss him, but am kind of looking forward to having the bed all to myself roll2.gif

Hope everyone had a nice weekend waves.gif

ETA - not sure what happened to my picture...will try again!

Yay - here's me at 30+5 weeks today biggrin.gif

Afternoon

elmo - another great bump pic - you dont sound at all comfortable with bubs sitting under your ribs like that.

I still think my little one is much lower (though posterior) as evidenced by how my bump 'sits'.

We have council clean up over the next week or so. We started clearing out the garage - what a job that is going to be! I'm looking forward to it being cleared up though and getting some order in there.

I took DD to see Gnomeo & Juliet today - very funny film, though just a tad too long for a 4 year old.

Bump has been relatively active today and I have wicked heartburn tonight. Plus, I think I have yet another cold sad.gif I can't friggin' believe it!

Well, I'm going to sign out now til Thursday night. Have a great few days everyone, take care original.gif

Hi to all, i got lost from the last blog if thats what u refer it to?? lol So ive had alot of catching up to do. You all seem quite weel which is good and sound like we are all getting excited on the arrivals of our bubs!!! biggrin.gif
Packing of the bags: I have been tempted but not started yet, i will definately have them packed before easter as we will be 3hours from home and thought it'd be a good idea to have our bags and the carseat ready to go incase we dont quite make the trip back home, although im sure i'll be fine and due to being sooo uncomfortable bubs will try enjoy his/her stay and go over its due date.
Maintenance: I thought i shaved my legs for the last time weeks ago, till i sat on the edge of the bath today and managed to do them myself. As for 'the hedge' thats been missing in action for weeks lol roll2.gif I had to ask DH about a month ago if he would be able to help me out, which he so kindly said he would and was very supportive until i got to embarrased and asked him to leave the room an then didnt speak to him for a whole day due to embarassment... geeze these men can put up with alot from us sometimes!
Everyones baby bumps are growing and looking beautifull, i had my 2nd maternity shoot today! Cant wait to see some pictures happy.gif
AFM: I am so terribly tried but still cant seem to sleep, we slept over my granparents house last night as all the family went to a 21st which was only down the road from their house so i decided what better time to try out our new airbed we bought for our easter camping trip. It was the most incredible, well comfortable sleep ive had in a long time, just the waking up every hour wasnt so good. Am thinking of setting the airbed up at home for the next 10weeks lol
All take care will hopefully be able to keep up with the feed now.
