Oh Jack!
lol only just discovered Lee Child and his Jack Reacher series, but my, what a man!

Am I the only one slightly taken by this totally fiction character? I've just finished reading my 3rd J.R. book and don't think I'll be able to to sleep tonight. Page turner!
Does anyone have a favorite they'd like to share?

I love Lee Child books, have read all of them except the latest one. My husband always says Jack Reacher is the only man he is worried about me leaving him for! He is an awesome character, I love the books and I have a podcast of an interview that Lee Child gave mostly about the character of Jack Reacher. You can download it from itunes.

kinvarakiss - yay so I am not alone at this!

Did some googling last night (really couldn't sleep after an exciting end to a book, pretty sad!) and read that one name that keeps coming up to play Jack Reacher in a movie would be Hugh Jackman.... I can see him do it you know, although the character is pretty fascinating in the books, not sure if that translates to film?

You're not alone! I'm a big fan of Jack Reacher too. I've read all of Lee Child's books, including the most recent. Can't pick a favourite.
Kinvarakiss, my DH makes similar jokes too
Hugh Jackman as Jack Reacher? Mmm, that might work...I'm a big fan of HJ too (he suits the rugged image of JR ;-) - though he might not be tall/big enough?!

Love Jack Reacher, have all the books and read them in no time flat. Lee Child was in Australia end of last year. He was on the book review program on ABC and was interesting. Lee Child is not his real name, it was a marketing ploy related to how people scan authors last names when choosing a book.
Anyway, there are a lot of forums trying to decide who will play Jack Reacher in the movie adaption of one his books, I think from memory it will be the book "One Shot". Lots of different opinions but most seem to favour "the Rock", Dwayne Johnson as he has the physical "look" of Reacher.
Lee Child's forums have also put me onto a new author that Lee likes, called Zoe Sharp. Her character, Charlie Fox (a woman) is ex- British Army and so far I have liked the 2 books of hers that have read. (Got them cheap off Book Depository)
Happy reading.

andyk - thanks for the tips, I like a little variety so will check them out at the library. Have rediscovered loaning books rather than buying them since my house is bulging with books...

I'm a fan too

I've had them all from the library, and have been looking for them in the op shops for about a year now... and have only found one!
Daisy Goat, I'd love a copy of your pdf ones

I don't think Hugh Jackman is the right fit for Jack Reacher, not sure who would be. Whoever they get, he'll have a lot to live up to!
I also love the Alex McKnight series of books by Steve Hamilton. Similar to Lee Childs books, and just as engrossing. Jonathon King is also a good read, with a character similar to Reacher.

No prob Koala Lou.
FWIW I also read:
Michael Connelly - Harry Bosch series (detective)
Faye Kellerman - Pete Decker series (detective and jewish family life)
Tami Hoag
Minette Walters
None of them suck me in like Reacher, or even Janet Evanovich's series with the lead character Stephanie Plum (which are funny and very easy to read if you haven't already read them), but still enjoyable.
And I hear you about having a house swamped in books.
