Hello Sharon, I also was on clomid to have babies !! I now have a very lage family of 6 & now without the aid of clomid have discovered that I am carrying twins !! I have been on clomid 5 times & I think that it varies but on an average 3 to 10 months to fall pregnant ( on average thats my experience ) . Do not give up hope yet !! I know what it is like each month the ups & downs . I wish you all the best in the new year with your bay plans . Michelle , mumtomany !!

Hi Sharon - Just wanted to let you know that I did a few months of charting (no drugs) 1 month of Clomid - Failed, and then Gyno proformed a laparoscopy to see what was going on.....he found a large growth strangling my right tube. Once removed, I fell pregnant with twins ~ Naturally.
One thing that scared me about Clomid was the increase chance of exposing yourself to the drug for too long. Have a good read of the instruction manual (pamphlet) that comes with it as there are many dangers if prolonged use.
My advice would be to tell your gyno that you don't want to use it anymore and ask for more suggestions as to why thing arent working. Perhaps ask for a Laparoscopy (they run dye through your tubes and uterus to make sure there are no holes or tears etc.
I think it much easier just to prescribe the clomid and for them to move onto the next patient. Get him/her to listen to you and to your body becasue its obviously not responding to the clomid. That was the difference to us - we had a doctor for 2 years that did nothing to help, we changed to a different doctor that listened and now look! Only after being on his patient list for 3 months!!!
Feel free to private message me at any time to talk about this! Wishing you all the best with the rest of this cycle and have my fingers crossed for you.....

Hi Sharon-I was on clomid for 12 cycles but didnt become pregnant. (prior to this I wasnt ovulating so the 12 months on clomid was effectively the same as anyone else ttc for the 'average' length of time it takes the 'average' couple to conceive.)
We then went onto IVF and had 2 cycles before becoming pregnant with twins.
Do you know if youre ovulating? (either charting temps or blood tests will let you and your dr. know)
Like all drugs clomid has side effects but I guess as with anything the benefits need to outweigh the risks. (panadol can give you liver failure but not too many people are worried about taking them for a headache iykwim!)
Anyway-take care-hopefully it will all fall into place for you soon.
