Hi

I just wondered if many people have used electric/battery swings when their babies were little. I used one for my first and it virtually cured his colic. I have the one but I wondered if it was worth getting another for the twins. What are peoples experience?

Cheers & thanks
Kellie

Hello, I just wanted to say that we are expecting twins and when we told DP parents, they said they would buy us two swings whether we liked it or not (pretty much), I never used one with my first daughter and always thought of them as a luxury item but they said they were a god send with their children (23-30 yrs ago) so we are now the owners of two matching swings. At our twins meetings, some of the other twin mums said if you can get your hands on them, go for it......I guess time will tell. Good Luck

My mum bought us one swing and it was fantastic! Personally I don't see the need for having one for each baby...but then that's just me!! wink.gif They take up a bit of room too. Definitely worth having one though!!

Thanks for this thread!

We were looking at getting a rocker and a swing, but Dh thought they should have the same either two rockers or two swings. I am with you Nee on the space issue. I am now thinking of getting one!

Can anyone tell me what weight they can hold up to please?

Megansmum - Have you popped into the Due in April Thread? I am due with twins in April too and there is also Gracie, would love to see you there!

Have a great New Year guys....

Bree - I have the Swallow Musico Swing 2 the instructions say it's weight limit is 11.5kg which means theoretically my three could still use it! I'm sure they all have different features, but ours has a reclining seat, five point harness and a lockable tray in front of the seat. It also plays music as the name suggests....drives me nuts after a while though wink.gif lol!!

I would deffinately suggest getting 1 swing and 1 rocker.
I have the Fisher price smart responce swing rrp $200,
and the fisher price infant to toddler vibrating rocker (not sure of actual name Tounge1.gif ) rrp $170.
You could pick these up for alot cheaper on eBay though if you dont mind using second hand.
When I was first given the 2 (one bought by nan and one by my mum) I didnt think I'd need the two, but the swing is used just as much as the chair (I use the chair for feeding hum, and for him to watch tv etc, and as its portable I can move it into the bathroom if I want a shower etc. And the swing is left in one psot, he goes i that if he is whingy etc so that I get a break original.gif
I wouldnt get two of each, just have one baby in the rocker and one in the swing.

Thanks guys - I really appreciate the feedback.

I'm off to have an emerg c/s this afternoon (babies small & fluid low) so I'll have to finish contemplating swings when I get back!

Cheers
