Can anyone give me any ideas on decorating a boy/girl (twins) nursery? I am lost for ideas.. We are only having one cot. So that may help some wink.gif

Hi there,

We also had trouble with this as we wanted something neutral..eventually we came up with a Farm theme.
The lower half of the wall is an orangey colour, the upper half is a creamy colour with a hint of orange and then around the middle is a wallpaper border of farm animals.
If you would like pics just send me your email and I would be happy to show it off as I was really pleased with how well it turned out!
We also considered teddy bears and Noah's Ark!

Hope that helps,

Jo

No_idea!
[color=Blue]My friend has b/g twins and she decorated her room in yellows with a safari animal theme ie. giraffes and monkeys etc. It looks great!!

We didn't find out the sex of our babies, so we painted the room yellow and had a beach theme. We painted the drawers white and had a white change table (with drawers and shelves underneath) and white cots. We bought the grooviest drawer knobs from Seaweed & Sand (the website for the knobs is http://www.splosh.com.au/splosh13.htm ) and they have all sorts of accessories to match, which you can use to decorate the room! The knobs are lovely and colourful and could be unisex.

Have fun decorating! original.gif

Jen,

Considering you love of animals - I think the safari theme is a great idea......just perfect for you.

Hi Jen,

Noticed you live in WA and there is a great shop at Garden City that sells excellent things for nursery's and it gives you great Ideas. We went with the bright animal theme we painted the room yellow and put up all around the room wooden animal cutouts painted in great bright colours. Although we had boys it is now being used for a girls room (we sold the house and they had a little girl and she now uses the room as she loved the animals, so can be used for boy or girl)

I can't remember the name of the shop but can explain it to you if you want, I have sent a few friends there and they all loved it as they also have matching door knobs.

Good luck It is so exiting decorating the nursery I loved choosing things for my nursery and was very sad when we left it.

take care

Hi Jen, we decorated our nursery in the safari theme. We painted it yellow and put up a border around the room, about one metre up from the floor. We found the border at Bristol Paint and Decorator Centre and it had a cute train with animals aboard (giraffe, elephant etc). We found a mobile with the same animals and we got lots of compliments on the room! We hadn't told anyone we were having boys and they couldn't guess from the decoration of the room as it suits both boys and girls. Our one year old daughter is in this room now and it still looks good.
Good luck with your decorating!

We have done our girl/boy twins room in pale timber cots and change table, with a everything else in white, blue and pink. We have a star theme going with starry sheets (pink and blue sets) star mobiles and stars on the wall and ceiling. We painted the drawers in white wash and did each drawer in alternate blue and pink. It looks great and with all of their blue and pink teddies and toys they were given when they were born. I have a big rocker in there covered in pastel stars as well. It feels very calming when I go in there.
I love finding things to buy for them and getting one in each color.

Don't know what will happen when they are older. I'd say that Summer might have her own room and maybe the boys will share. Or maybe the twins might like to stay together????
