Hi just me again *LOL* Can anyone tell me when my Ob' appointments will change from 4 weeks to ? and from ? weeks to ? weeks. (if that makes sense)

I also got into an Ob here in Mandurah W.A I had an Ob but he was a 30min drive and unable to deliver me in my town. The Ob i have now was actually my IVF doctor at the fertility clinic So we are wrapped with that.

Well .. I always went every two weeks, until I had pre-term labour (29 weeks) I then went every week, until 34 weeks, then every 3 days or so. But my doc was being extra cautious .. so I am not sure! With my daughter it was every month till 28 weeks, every fortnight till 36 weeks and weekly from then on

I went every 4 weeks up until 27 weeks & f/n until I had the girls at 32.2 weeks.

I had to check last year's diary to remember - talk about baby brain (and they pay me to think at work!!).

I went every 4 weeks until 24 weeks then every 2 weeks until I think 32 weeks then weekly until I delivered at 37 weeks. Remember if you're ever concerned though to ring your OB (or midwife - I had both) - there are no silly questions.

O.k i have been told by a number of people that they see a midwife as well as their Ob. I am starting to wonder why i am not seeing a midwife. Or will that start after my hospital book in? (Jan 2005)

Our plan was to see our OB monthly until 26 weeks and then fortnightly until 30 weeks then weekly... mind you at exactly 26 weeks the TTTS hit so I was either in hospital (so saw him every day, sometimes 3 or 4 times a day!) or seeing our OB every week and being scanned every week in between OB appointments until the girls were born a little less that four weeks later.

I never saw a midwife (apart from when I was in hospital ofcourse) but I think that depends on whether you are a private or public patient and sometimes whether your private OB also has a midwife on staff??? Somone will tell you if I'm wrong! In our case it was bad enough fitting a scan and OB appointment every month!

Glad to hear you are doing well and it must be great to have organised your new OB!

Congrats on your twins.

I saw a midwife fornightly from 19 weeks (found out our twins shared a placenta - slightly higher risk) and then weekly with the ob from 30weeks (pre-term labour)

Hi, I did shared care with my GP who is a training OB. Only saw the a midwife in hosp where I got a quick tour of the hosp said i'd be a caesar(being 1st time giving birth) so dont bother with the delivery rooms. Saw my OB at the hosp roughly 4 times. Saw the GP monthly till 30 weeks then F/N till 35 weeks.
I had a healthy pregnancy just severe morning sickness till around 20 weeks so probably escaped with the minimum of visits.
Add in 5 ultrasounds and numerous blood tests and your diary will be full!!!
